    On November 4, 2013, a Wells-Fargo bank in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania would be robbed of a little over 81,000 dollars.  The same would happen again at another location a few miles away on November 12, 2013, with a little over 71,000 dollars stolen from that bank. There were three masked men to hit both institutions demanding money and walking away undiscovered all in a matter of seconds. Until one day detectives would get the big break, they needed from an unexpected source. This individual would reveal the true identity of one of the assailants and disclosing that there was a fourth person involved, a female, who was an employee of Wells- Fargo.     Elizabeth Wettlaufer is a convicted Canadian serial killer and former registered nurse, whose case prompted widespread public outrage and made headlines internationally. On September 16, 2016, Wettlaufer admitted herself into a psychiatric hospital because she was tired of killing. While there she would confess to a staff psychiatrist, she murdered 8 people and made several attempts to murder more by overdosing her patients on lethal doses of insulin. It would be several years after the initial murders before this angel of death would ever be convicted. But, after a thorough investigation along with a verbal and handwritten confession. On June 26, 2017, Wettlaufer was sentenced to serve 8 consecutive life sentences with no possibility of parole for 25 years.

    Gary Ridgway (born February 18, 1949), known as the Green River Killer, murdered numerous women in Washington during the 1980s and 1990s, earning his nickname when the first five victims were found in the Green River. He strangled them, usually with his arm but sometimes using ligatures. After strangling the women, he would dump their bodies throughout forested and overgrown areas in King County. He was initially convicted of 48 separate murders. As part of his plea bargain, another conviction was added, bringing the total number of convictions to 49, making him the second most prolific serial killer in United States history according to confirmed murders.

    Lonnie David Franklin Jr., An American serial killer. Also, known as the South Side Slayer, preyed on the women of Los Angeles, California from 1985 to 2007. Franklin was also given the name, Grim Sleeper by L.A. Weekly reporter, Christine Pelisek.  She created this name for him because of the 14 yr. break that occurred between the murders.  Franklin was a husband, father and friend too many in his community. All while keeping a deadly secret. Franklin was living a double life.  He was a family man by day and murderer by night. On July 5, 2010, Detectives would get the big break, they had been needing for almost 30 years. A DNA match would get Lonnie Franklin Jr. convicted for killing at least 10 women and 1 attempt murder sentencing him to death row.

    On February 24, 1986, the body of Sherri Rasmussen was found in the apartment she shared with her husband, John Ruetten, in Van Nuys, California. She had been badly beaten and shot three times in the chest from a home invasion. The Los Angeles Police Department initially considered the home invasion a botched burglary. But with the new advanced technology of DNA would change that theory to murder.  After 23 years this cold case would be solved on June 5, 2009 and a murderer would get the justice, she deserves 27 years to life in prison.

There was a fatal boating crash in 2019 that killed Mallory Beach. In 2021, son Paul Murdaugh and wife Maggie Murdaugh were killed in June.
