I think sales departments across the country are suffering because the salespeople don't have the stick-to-itiveness, or maybe just don't have the knowledge to follow up. I was on a webinar the other night, and it blew me away because the speaker, the person who was leading the webinar, was giving so many rock-solid tips that I ran out of notebook pages to write them down. Wanda Allen joins us remotely with Follow Up Sales Solutions.

We hear a patient's perspective on healthcare from Wanda Allen in this episode of the Perspectives on Healthcare podcast with Rob Oliver. Wanda is from Mississippi. Although she has limited experience in the healthcare system, she has seen the ugly side in billing and the good side in patient centered care. This is interview 39 in the patient's perspective interview marathon. Here are 3 things that stood out as Wanda Allen gave us a patient's perspective on healthcare: Bedside manner is extremely important. Someone that is skilled as a clinician still needs to be able to make a personal connection on a human level. Billing is one of the most frustrating parts of the healthcare system. Nobody wants to get a surprise bill! It's not just one doctor's office here or there that is creating the problem. It is the healthcare system in the United States that causes the frustration. Today's Guest: Wanda AllenWanda Allen is an international speaker, coach, corporate trainer, author, and award-winning business owner. She's the author of Follow Up Savvy and Follow Up Sales Strategies. Wanda had a 25-year corporate career where she held the position of Senior Vice President for 15 years. She has a sales background and worked with sales teams throughout her corporate job. She gained extensive training in business development, maintaining client relationships, and customer service. She has a vital skill set for developing systems and applied this skill to the follow-up process. What she teaches is tried, tested, and proven. After leaving the corporate world to pursue her business ventures, Wanda founded Follow Up Sales Strategies. She's an expert in helping entrepreneurs, business owners, and sales professionals increase pipelines, improve sales performance, and strengthen relationships by developing strong follow-up skills. From this episode:"When I find I'm very passionate about my work. Like, I love what we do. It's helping people grow their businesses; it's creating time and freedom for them. And it's all these things that I love. And I find that I'm really not entering a sales call; I'm entering a relationship. And when I'm thinking about it and doing a service, the fear sort of goes away because I'm coming in at a different angle."-Dr. T"You are asking the prospect questions rather than you talking, talking, and throwing everything you can do and how great you are. That's the turnout. So, there's a saying, be more interested than interesting. So be interested in the prospect. So, where are you in terms of your follow-up? What habits do you have? Where do you struggle? Where are you successful? It's whatever your product or services, so prospects will put them at ease. And listen, we like people who are interested in us that feed our ego, we all have an ego, and that person will be a lot more likable. So it's putting the focus on the prospect because truly, you want to find out how you can best help them and where they are, you know, it's called meeting them where they are, yes, and, you know, working from the same page."-Wanda Allenhttps://followupsalesstrategies.com/

Show highlights: •How things changed for Wanda, coming from a Corporate Career, where she used to sell products, to becoming a Business Owner, where she was selling herself. So her limiting beliefs, when starting out in her own business, were all about whether she would actually be enough to go out there and create her business. •The specific moment and the specific event, that changed everything for Wanda, where she realized that she was really stiff and full of angst. Once she was able to let all of that go, Wanda realized that her stiffness had actually been creating a disconnect with her clients. •Wanda's realization that she was there to help those who really wanted her help and were ready for it. This really calmed her mind down and released her from the stiffness and the angst, as she was no longer coming from a forceful mindset. •Wanda keeps herself out of her head and coming from her heart, when sharing with people how she can help them. This is really what is making the connection for her now. •Two winning strategies that Wanda employs, when she's selling from the stage. This is where she comes from a place of service, knowing that she really is the expert at what she does. •Two top strategies that Wanda uses to close even more sales after leaving an event and also to get more corporate clients. This is where she follows up on all her leads. •How Wanda got to the point of knowing that she's an expert. •Wanda teaches you three really important strategies that you can implement immediately and use to move yourself forward. 1) Changing your mindset towards follow-up work. 2) Making following up a daily priority. 3) Using a Customer Relationship Manager (CRM)- a computer program that keeps all your follow up information. (Wanda uses Pipe Drive) Using these three will really improve your business! •The mindset shifts that Wanda constantly has to help her clients with. These really have to do with fears. •The real value in investing in relationships, to tap into your gold mine. •How Wanda invests in relationships- by staying in touch. •Time blocking- really the most powerful time management strategy. It will bring you a sense of relief and order. •Why you really need to be consistent with your follow ups. •The best time of day to make follow up calls and how many times you should call. •Systemizing your follow ups. •Creative ways of staying in touch. •For what Wanda has to offer you, the listeners, go to her website, www.followupsalesstrategies.com, where you can get her free guide book. • Links: Wanda's email: wanda@followupsalesstrategies.com Wanda's phone number: 858 382 1952 Ursula's website: www.salescoachnow.com
