Recently, I went on a trip with another ministry I am part of, called LeaderPaths, which takes students on experiential learning trips. This year, we took students to the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter, where we learned how a Scholar put his passion into practice (Ken Ham). In this talk we ask the question: Why Me? As I go through my testimony of struggles in life to how I came to truly understand Gods glory within my struggles. For more information on LeaderPaths go to LeaderPaths.com

We were both led closer to Jesus and blessed with peace in our hearts. Even during the last two years on hospice in a nursing home. God was glorified by my wife's smile that often broke into laughter. Even in the midst of the storm of Alzheimer's, peace and wisdom was revealed as our spiritual eyes were opened and hearts awakened to know God's Word is truth that sets us free. Both lifelong Methodists and Nell the granddaughter of a renowned pastor and president of Southern Methodist University, Umphrey Lee, we were led on a faith journey closer to Jesus after the Methodist Church left us, shunning God's Word to embrace the sinful culture of the world. More than 7,500 churches in the United States alone left the denomination. A life-changing trip to the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter opened our eyes to the authority of Scripture – all of God's Word is truth. We were drawn to the Church of Christ, a New Testament Church founded on Biblical authority. If you would like a photo of the book cover or more information, please let me know. Author website: www.jscottyates.com Substack: https://jscottyates.substack.com/ New Memoir ‘Everything Is Going to Be All Right' Offers Hope and Faith Amid the Trials of Alzheimer's A Story of Love, Caregiving and Faith as Husband Chronicles His Wife's Battle with Alzheimer's RALEIGH, N.C. – In his debut memoir “Everything Is Going to Be All Right: A Faith Journey Through Alzheimer's”(published by WestBow Press), Scott Yates invites readers into an intimate story of love, loss, and spiritual endurance as he walks alongside his wife through the devastating progression of Alzheimer's disease. The book recounts the journey of Scott and Eleanor “Nell” Yates, two newspaper reporters who met early in their careers and built a life together centered on family, journalism and shared faith. Their lives changed dramatically when Nell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2016. As the disease gradually took away her ability to communicate and live independently, Scott stepped into the demanding role of caregiver, navigating the challenges that accompany what many call “the long goodbye.” He faced the daily burdens many caregivers know well — exhaustion, grief and the painful realization that some challenges cannot be overcome through personal strength alone — yet, through it all, Scott discovered profound spiritual lessons. He came to see how suffering and uncertainty can draw people closer to God and deepen their trust in his guidance. During one especially meaningful moment in the nursing home, after Nell's speech had become largely incoherent due to aphasia, Scott rhetorically said, “Isn't it going to be amazing when we see Jesus face-to-face.” Nell suddenly spoke clearly and confidently to reassure her husband, telling him, “Everything is going to be all right.” That moment of clarity became the title, message and inspiration for this book. For the next year, Scott led a Bible study in the nursing home with other patients as Nell held his hand and shared her smiles. Scott was holding Nell's hand as she took her last breath, called home to see Jesus on the same day the book was published.

From the very beginning, the authority of God's Word has been under attack. God gave clear instruction in the Garden of Eden as recorded in Genesis 2:16 and following: "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, 'Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat; But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.'" In Genesis chapter 3, the serpent spoke to Eve, "Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" The serpent put this question in her mind to cause doubt and later countered what God said, "Ye shall not surely die." Tragically, Eve took of the fruit and ate it. She gave it to Adam, who also ate it, and thus sin entered into the world. We often look back and ask how could they do such a thing. Yet, in our secular world and in pulpits across the country, the same challenge is happening day after day, questioning the authority of the Scriptures. Returning to Crosstalk to answer this concern was Ken Ham. Ken is founder of Answers in Genesis and its life-changing attractions: the highly acclaimed Creation Museum and the world-renowned Ark Encounter. Ken is a biblical apologist and author of multiple books, including Divine Dilemma (understanding death, disease, and suffering); Divided Nation (about today's culture wars); Creation to Babel (a devotional commentary); The Lie: Unraveling the Myth: Evolution/Millions of Years and Miraculous: The Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis Story.
Abortion is not just a political headline, it is a discipleship test for parents. If you have ever wondered when to bring it up with your kids, what to say without panicking, or how to respond when the culture sounds more confident than the church, this conversation gives you a path forward. We start with the why: the cultural reality that younger generations are being catechized fast, and families need a true reference point for moral direction. Then we build that foundation from Scripture, focusing on the image of God, God's heart for the vulnerable, and our call to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. David is joined by his daughter Autumn, a biology student and former Creation Museum speaker, to connect biblical conviction with real-world clarity. From there we get practical and specific. We define abortion plainly, explain why “pro-life” is bigger than one issue, and walk through embryology and the claim that life begins at fertilization. Autumn also shares a simple framework you can remember, SLED (Size, Level of development, Environment, Degree of dependency), to show why the differences between born and unborn humans do not erase a person's right to life. Finally, we address common pro-choice objections with compassion and logic, including “potential life,” financial pressure, “safe and legal,” “my body, my choice,” and the heartbreak of rape or incest, while pointing to the church's role in tangible care and the hope of the gospel. If you want biblical counsel you can actually use in Christian parenting and family conversations about the sanctity of human life, listen now, subscribe for more, share this with another parent, and leave a review with the hardest question you want answered next.Support the showFor episode transcripts, click HERE.For more marriage encouragement, visit: www.VowsToKeep.com | V2K Blog | Marriage Counseling | Insta | FBApple Podcast listener? Summary: In this episode, Dr. Michael Easley and Ken Ham have a candid conversation about faith, leadership, and navigating criticism. Together, they wrestle with the tension between personal responsibility, pure motives, and God's sovereignty—asking whether decisions truly glorify God or sometimes serve our own ambitions. Looking at biblical examples like Nehemiah, they explore the difference between bold faith and foolish presumption, and how leaders can step forward with courage while staying grounded in humility. Ken Ham shares personal stories of how God shaped his calling, from his early burdens to the building of the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. He reflects on how criticism—especially from within the church—has tested but refined him, and how he's learned to measure faithfulness not by approval but by obedience to God's Word. Dr. Easley and Ham also highlight the importance of wise mentors, compassionate leadership, and learning to speak truth with both authority and grace. This conversation is a reminder that while opposition is inevitable, God uses it to strengthen our faith. Whether in ministry, family, or personal decisions, we're called to stand firm on God's Word, lead with humility, and trust that He will use us for His glory. Takeaways Leadership requires balancing humility with tenacity. Nehemiah models boldness rooted in God's glory, not self-promotion. True faith often looks like risk against conventional wisdom. Criticism—even from within the church—can refine character. Wise mentors help leaders grow in Christlikeness. God calls us to bold obedience, tempered with compassion.

Ken Ham, the man behind the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter, is also the person media loves to hold up as an example of why people shouldn't believe the Bible. Specifically, what's targeted is his belief in a young earth, one that is a few thousand years old as opposed to more than 4.5 billion years old. Yet Ham never wavers from his belief in what the Bible says about creation, the age of the earth, evolution, and the like. On this episode of the Lighthouse Faith podcast, Ham doubles down on his conviction in the authority of the Bible in all things, and yes, even science. For instance, Ham says that regardless of what science has discovered about light may not be the complete picture of its inimitable qualities. The Bible says God created light, "And God said, 'Let there be light.'" But what God didn't tell us in Genesis is of light's wave/particle duality, or that the speed of light is 671 million miles per hour. Ham is a scientist; one who looks at the exact same data as any other trained expert. The difference is that, because of his belief in the authority of the Bible, Ham's conclusions diverge from conventional scientific thought. Learn more about your ad choices. In this thought-provoking episode, Richard Nelson welcomes Ken Ham—founder, president, and CEO of Answers in Genesis and visionary behind the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter—for a wide-ranging discussion on the foundational importance of the Genesis account. Together, they explore how belief in a literal six-day creation is not just a theological detail, but a worldview cornerstone that shapes how we understand truth, morality, science, and culture. Ken shares why the battle over origins is ultimately a battle over authority—God's Word versus man's word—and why compromising on Genesis can lead to confusion in the church and chaos in the culture. Some people claim that the Bible is full of errors. Such comments center on things as the origin of man, the age of the earth or the idea of a worldwide flood. Then we have those folks who see the Bible as nothing more than a "good book." They claim that it has good moral teachings but they certainly can't take it seriously as a book of facts! How can Christians respond to those who believe such lies? Are we ourselves as grounded as we should be so we can stand for biblical truth? What evidence should we be aware of that will allow us to make such a stand for truth? Joining Dalton to help you answer these questions was Dr. Tim Chaffey. Dr. Chaffey is content manager of the attractions division at Answers in Genesis. He's responsible for overseeing the development of content for the exhibits at the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum. He writes articles for the Answers in Genesis website and Answers Magazine. Allen Greene is the Senior Design Director at Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum. With a background in theme park design and experience working at Kings Island and with firms like Jack Rouse Associates, Allen brings a wealth of expertise in immersive storytelling and attraction development. The Ark Encounter, a life-size recreation of Noah's Ark in Williamstown, Kentucky, and the Creation Museum, located 45 minutes away, are part of Answers in Genesis, an organization dedicated to faith-based educational experiences. In this interview, Allen talks about building the ark, designing through the lens of the guest, and faith-based attractions. Building the Ark “It was a unique goal for our team to try to recreate as real as possible Noah's Ark, but also in such a way that it's a themed experience that anybody can walk into.” Constructing the Ark Encounter was a massive undertaking that combined biblical history with modern building techniques. The Ark itself is the largest timber-frame structure in the world, standing at 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet tall. Allen describes the meticulous planning process, including consulting with shipbuilding experts and using standing-dead Engelmann spruce harvested from Utah. The project required a balance between authenticity and modern guest expectations, incorporating accessibility features such as elevators and ramps while maintaining the look and feel of an ancient ship. The design team worked in parallel with fabricators to build immersive exhibits inside the Ark, ensuring that guests could engage with the story of Noah in a meaningful way. Designing Through the Lens of the Guest “Having a frontline exposure, and seeing what guests naturally do, the questions they ask, the desires they have, that comes into the designs that we think about every day.” Allen's early career in ride operations at Kings Island helped shape his approach to attraction design, giving him first hand insight into guest behavior and operational challenges. This experience influences his design philosophy at Ark Encounter, where guest flow and storytelling are seamlessly integrated. The Ark's three decks follow a structured narrative—preparing for the flood, life on the Ark, and life after the flood—providing a mix of immersive sets, historical exhibits, and interactive displays. Balancing thematic integrity with practical functionality, the team ensures that guests not only experience the story but also navigate the attraction comfortably. By continuously evaluating guest feedback and operational pain points, the team refines exhibits and pathways to enhance the visitor experience. Faith-Based Attractions “What we're trying to create is more than just a fun day at a park. It's more than just escapism. We want people to experience an encounter, not just with the Ark, but with God.” Faith-based attractions like Ark Encounter differ from traditional theme parks in that they strive to provide a deeper, more meaningful experience for visitors. Allen explains how their mission extends beyond a single visit, offering resources such as books, educational programs, and Vacation Bible School materials to help guests continue their journey at home. He also acknowledges the challenges of catering to a specific audience while maintaining an inclusive environment where all visitors, regardless of faith, feel welcome. The team aims to balance entertainment and education, using modern tools like virtual reality to bring biblical stories to life in new and engaging ways. The demand for wholesome, family-friendly attractions continues to grow, and Ark Encounter seeks to meet that need by providing a space where guests can both enjoy and reflect. This episode is part 6 in a series going through the story of the Book of Mormon.2 Nephi chapters 26-27 continue Nephi's prophecies. After the ascension, Jesus would show Himself to the Nephites. However, after four generations of a righteous remnant, the Nephites would forsake God. Gentiles will destroy them. The record of their history and prophecies will be sealed until the latter days.2 Nephi chapter 27 is like Isaiah chapter 29 but expanded for commentary about how God would give His book to an unlearned man and three witnesses will see it before it's released to the public. God will open some sealed content later in due time.We briefly look at these "three witnesses" to the Book of Mormon and how they all apostatized from the LDS Church over the same issue with Joseph Smith. Ken Ham is the founder CEO of Answers in Genesis and its two life-changing attractions, the highly acclaimed Creation Museum, and the world-renowned Ark Encounter. Ken is a biblical apologist and author of more than 30 books, including Divine Dilemma (understanding death, disease, and suffering), Divided Nation (about today's culture wars), Creation to Babel. (a devotional commentary) and a new updated edition of The Lie: Unraveling the Myth: Evolution/Millions of Years. Ken is also a blogger and speaker on Answers…with Ken Ham.Have you ever wondered why our society has gone in the direction that it has? Why are issues such as gender, sexuality, abortion and racism so prominent these days? There's also the mass exodus from churches and the fact that churches seem to be losing ground. What is the root cause of this? The answer is in the form of a lie that has captured generations. It has eroded the belief in God as creator and the truth and authority of Scripture. It's the lie of evolution and the belief in millions of years. It's critical that we understand the magnitude of this issue because many continue to be swallowed up by this deceptive issue as it shows up in children's textbooks, it's promoted in the media, Hollywood and sadly, it's even taught in some seminaries and proclaimed from pulpits across America. So join Ken as he talks about this new, revised edition of The Lie, the current attack against Christianity, why evolution and atheism are also religions, what has led to the popularity and acceptance of evolution into seminaries and churches, changes coming to Ark Encounter, input from listeners and more!
Mary welcomes Dr. Danny Faulkner of Answers in Genesis to discuss the heavens and all that is in them. The Psalmist tells us that they declare the glory of God - and the God Who made them lives in the believer. How can that not inspire awe all by itself? As a culture, going from the beginnings of the space race in the 1960s to today's complex telescopic arrays and the Hubble, we know more than ever about the heavens, vast and boundless. Looking up at the night sky, humans have been doing that from our own beginnings, this connects us all across the millennia. Today we discuss astronomy, the science - what is it, how does it differ from other sciences? The Bible refers to the heavens over 700 times, so there should be no question as to how they came about, but the complexity, that's an endless subject. Auroras, nebula, galaxies and novas describe things and power far beyond our human comprehension. More glory than we can even consider, but we will try in this fascinating hour with Dr. Faulkner. Dr. Danny Faulkner holds an MS in physics from Clemson University, an MA and a PhD in astronomy from Indiana University, and he taught at the University of South Carolina—Lancaster for over 26 years. He has published over 100 papers in various journals. He works as a researcher, author, and speaker for Answers in Genesis. He also hosts Ark Encounter trips down to Red River Gorge (in eastern Kentucky), and Stargazer's Nights (at the Johnson Observatory); he also hosts Astronomy Live programs, and “The Skies Proclaim His Handiwork” workshops at the Creation Museum. His books can be found here. Shameless plug for swag for our listeners/donors! https://www.redpillprints.com/stand-up-for-the-truth - Thanks for YOUR Support!

Ken is a blogger and speaker on Answers…with Ken Ham.Ken described the climate change movement as a religious, anti-God movement that causes man to become his own God. In this regard he described the time last year when John Kerry returned from the World Economic Forum. Kerry described how there's an elite group of people that will save mankind and the planet. That's unbiblical because it's God who saves, not man. So just as with the creation/evolution issue, the beliefs of people determine their worldview. That in turn determines how they'll view things like fossils, life, or in the case of this broadcast...climate. It appears to be all about fear mongering in order to obtain control. Why do we need carbon dioxide in the atmosphere? Why is water vapor so important? Why is there an emphasis on not eating meat and not having children among the climate change crowd? Can man destroy the earth? Hasn't the climate always been changing? Does observational science compare with the information put forth by those spreading fear of climate change? Ken answers these questions, as he describes his new book, on this edition of Crosstalk.

Heath and Jimmy travel to the Creation Museum, a kind of theme park dedicated to the idea that the Bible's creation story is literally true and that the earth is 6,000 years old. So-called young earth creationism is a fundamental idea in Christian nationalism and one that could threaten the very foundations of scientific research if it ever becomes government policy.Learn more about sponsor message choices: podcastchoices.com/adchoicesNPR Privacy Policy

What has he said and what has he done in office? We will open the program this week with a deeper examination of Walz' worldview.Later in the program, we will also air more interviews from our Road Trip to the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. Send us a Text Message.GUEST: KEN HAM, CEO and Co-Founder, Answers in GenesisWe just returned to Minnesota after a road trip to northern Kentucky near Cincinnati, Ohio to visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, both of which are Bible-based, gospel-proclaiming theme parks owned and operated by Answers in Genesis.Later in this weekend's program, Ken Ham, co-founder and CEO of Answers in Genesis, will join us to recount the history of God's guiding hand in how these two attractions came to be and why the early chapters of Genesis are foundational to…well, everything. While on this trip, we watched in horror, like many of you, at the assassination attempt on former President Trump at a campaign event in western Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13. The God who “is sovereign over all”, including speeding bullets, chose to direct the bullet away from Trump's head by a mere quarter inch, wounding his ear instead. Positioned in the line of fire was Corey Comperatore, a husband and father and reportedly a Christ-follower, who took a bullet and was brought home to heaven. Two others were wounded. With US Secret Service and other law enforcement officers on site, it begs the question how the 20-year-old shooter was able to climb a ladder to the rooftop of a building just 160 yards away from Trump. Even more perplexing was how security allowed Trump on stage after being suspicious of the man hours earlier and rally-goers informing security about a man with a rifle on the roof minutes before shots rang out.I can see only two explanations for how this took place: either the Secret Service agency is unbelievably incompetent or someone (or several) with the governmental agency were intentionally attempting to assassinate former President Trump. We'll provide some reported details in the opening of the program and you can come to your own conclusion.-----------------Visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter - learn more or purchase tickets!
Send us a Text Message. My family and I are currently on a road trip to northern Kentucky to visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, both of which are owned and operated by Answers in Genesis, the ministry founded and led by Ken Ham, which boldly proclaims the authority of God's Word and the gospel. We have been conducting interviews with Ken and several others during the visit that we are going to air next week on the program. In fact, later in today's program, we are going to air a portion of one interview with Bryan Osborne, an author and popular speaker for Answers in Genesis that we did on site at the Ark Encounter following his presentation on the global flood detailed in Genesis 6-9.Before we get to that, we are going to air an interview our longer-time listeners may remember from back in 2016 with Michael Joens, an animator and creator of Theo, a 15-episode series dedicated to teaching children God's Word and the gospel.Joens is a highly credentialed animator, having worked for studios such as Hanna Barbera, Filmation, Warner Brothers and Marvel Productions.Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says, “These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.“What are “these words” that are to be on our hearts and taught diligently to our children? Biblical doctrines—truths about God and how we are to live and worship Him.But how? How can we teach biblical truths or doctrines to children? One excellent way is through an animated cartoon series called Theo. Our guest this weekend on The Christian Worldview is Michael Joens, the creator and director of Theo, a 15-episode animated cartoon series that we highly recommend and are offering to listeners. The production and teaching of biblical doctrines in Theo is of the highest quality and we encourage you to preview and order the series for your children and grandchildren. You will enjoy and learn too!--------------------------Related LinksTHEO - Volume 1, "God's Love" for a donation of any amount.THEO - Full 5-DVD Set for a donation of $50 or moreCreation Museum and Ark Encounter
In today's episode, Ray, E.Z., Mark, and Oscar are joined by Ken Ham, founder and CEO of Answers in Genesis (AIG), the Creation Museum, and the Ark Encounter. Accompanying him is Joe Boone, the president of AIG. The conversation delves into the rich history of AIG, a ministry devoted to biblical authority, the gospel, and upholding the authority of God's Word. This ministry emphasizes the importance of believers being able to articulate and defend their faith.Joe Boone underscores the significance of apologetics by sharing a poignant story from his teaching experience. He highlights how unanswered questions often contribute to individuals leaving the church. The conversation encourages Christians to embrace an open dialogue about their questions, acknowledging that believers shouldn't have a blind faith but rather a reasonable faith that can withstand scrutiny. The name “Answers in Genesis” is derived from 1 Peter 3:15, a verse that calls on Christians to always be prepared to give an answer. The ministry's focus is on providing answers, with the realization that many of these answers are found in the book of Genesis. Genesis, specifically chapters 1-11, is considered foundational to everything, offering a worldview and essential information for building a biblical perspective.Joe Boone reflects on a transformative moment in his life that led him to his current work with AIG when he attended a homeschool convention featuring Ken Ham as the keynote speaker. Despite a personal loss, Ken delivered a powerful talk that left a lasting impact on several attendees. Ken, in turn, shares the influence of his father on his faith, highlighting his father's commitment to the Word. He stresses the importance of parents immersing themselves in God's Word to set a genuine example for their children. The conversation turns to the attractions in northern Kentucky: the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. The Creation Museum is described as a captivating walk through the Bible, featuring numerous exhibits that bring biblical narratives to life. The Ark Encounter, a full-size replica of Noah's Ark, stands as the largest freestanding timber frame structure in the world. Both attractions serve as powerful evangelism tools, providing answers with an apologetics emphasis.Listeners are encouraged to explore the Answers in Genesis website to learn more about the work happening with AIG and The Ark Encounter. The exhibits serve as impactful tools for evangelism and provide believers with an opportunity to engage with non-believing family and friends through the lens of biblical truths. Thanks for listening!
