Our capacity to receive is so profoundly connected to earning money, to being successful and to growing our business. Contrary to more traditional and more masculine forms of conducting business, tapping into our nervous system and using that to regulate our energy and open ourselves to receiving is a very different approach to growing your business. In today's episode, I'm talking to Ana Kinkela, a Somatic Business Mentor & way-paving guide for women expanding their capacity to receive through returning home to the body. During our conversation, Ana discusses how you can tap into your nervous system to heal wounds and get into a state of expansion where you can receive more and hold more inside and outside of your business. She shares how the way you receive in your personal life manifests into your professional life, navigating a successful “pleasure edge” and tapping into that natural cycle of giving and receiving. In this episode, we cover: What the receiving wound is and how it shows up in the body and in business [3:43] How finding your pleasure edge can support massive income uplevels [6:24] How Ana used her own tools to call in a $52K month and get engaged in the same weekend! Episode 31: The Importance of Being Trauma-Informed As A Coach If you are a coach, are thinking about becoming a coach, or are looking for a coach, this episode is for you! Being a trauma-informed coach, especially if the kind of work you do with people touches on their personal experiences in the world, is imperative in providing supportive, ethical and responsible client care. The coaching industry continues to expand at a rapid rate, more and more people are turning to coaches for both life and business development, and while this is a wonderful trend (because I am all for people being able to access personal development and help in all different forms, whether it's through coaching or therapy), there are very real concerns that present themselves in a space where no *required* training or regulation exists to govern this growing profession. I've had clients, potential clients, and other coaches tell me about experiences they've had in the coaching industry where they've been in spaces and worked with coaches individually that triggered past traumatic events, which resulted in negative repercussions for the client. Even though most coaches have good intentions and want to help, there is a real lack of training and knowledge on how to properly handle situations where past trauma is triggered AND there is very little to no conversation about what it means to remain in their scope of practice, and when to refer a client to a therapist for continued deeper work. If you work with people, being trauma-informed is a necessity, because every person has some level of trauma. In this episode we dive into: -why being a trauma-informed coach should be a standard regardless of what kind of coaching you are providing -ways that you can start integrating a trauma-informed lens on how you lead your business -if you're looking to hire a coach, how to pick one that has the kind of background and experience that you need, depending on the kind of work you are doing with them -why going through your own healing journey with something doesn't necessarily qualify you to coach someone else through theirs (aka considering the limitations of what you can provide, depending on the depth of work that you are doing) -when to refer someone to a therapist -how honoring your own zone computes to higher client satisfaction and more positive business growth And so much more!! In celebration of this re-launch, I am releasing 7 consecutive episodes for the next 7 days AND you have the opportunity to win 1 of 4 high-value prizes when you review us on iTunes (worth 3 entries) and/or share the episodes on IG by tagging me @theanakinkela (1 entry every time you share)!! Episode 29: {Personal} Identity Shedding, Nomadic Living and the Rebirth of a Business After putting a pause on the podcast for several months as I went inward and did a lot of shedding, soul searching and re-creating, the podcast is finally back, under a slightly different name, with a whole new energy! This episode is a personal one, and I share the behind the scenes of my life and business including: -why I sold all of my belongings and transitioned to nomadic life -the identities that I shed in the process and what emerged in their place -how my business is shifting and what is being creatively birthed -the light and shadow of no longer having a home and what it's taught me -how ending a long term relationship opened me up to experiencing soul expansive love -opening portals of magic in Bali And so much more! Episode 30: Embracing Your Sacred Anger Anger can be a gift and an opening into understanding ourselves more deeply, voicing our truths more potently, and a gateway into accessing the well of inner power that rests inside of us. Sacred anger illuminates our needs and our boundaries, and it tells the story of the parts of us, and the ancestors that reside within us, that have been silenced. On a societal level, depending on the gender you've been socialized as, you've either been taught to ignore, push away or silence your anger, or you've been taught that anger is the only "appropriate" emotion or response that you can express outwardly to the world. In this episode, we explore: -why anger is one of our most important teachers -how anger can fuel us to be fully who we are in the world -the role of anger when it comes to helping us create boundaries and identify unconscious needs -the way that anger can light the path forward, and ignite you into aligned action -how anger presents for you, depending on whether you've been socialized as a woman or man in this society and how you can work with your anger to shift your relationship to it And so much more! Episode 20: Finding the Embodiment of Soulful Movement On the journey of embodiment, movement is crucial because it's part of the body's way of integrating what you've healed from the past, what you're learning and creating in the present, and what you are moving towards in the future. However how movement is approached in this culture usually comes from a place of expectation, shame and force. Body and fitness goals that are driven by unhealthy expectations, take the joy and soul out of moving our bodies. In order to embody yourself in business and life, movement has to come from the space of your soul. It's less about weighing and looking a certain way, and more about allowing the movement that you do to feel good in your body. In this episode we dive into: -what the important of movement is and what role it has in embodiment -how soulful movement can heal your relationship with your body and with yourself -the role of movement in paving the pathway to your future self -what the relationship between energy and movement is and how you can use it to your advantage -the difference between exercise and movement, and why I stress this difference And so much more! Episode 19: Unleash Your Inner Power Being embodied in your own power is what makes you shine out your confidence and uniqueness into the world, so that others can SEE you, which creates the opportunity for you to create the impact you desire, and grow the kind of business that's truly aligned for you and the kind of life you want to have. SO many entrepreneurs get caught in the trap of "faking it", and feeling like they are not enough, and that what they have to offer isn't good enough. Learning how to tap into what's already inside of you, the well of inner power that rests within, is such a crucial component of stepping into full belief of yourself and what you are creating. It shifts the energy that you put out, and it instills a sense of confidence in who you are and how you are in the world that's grounded, embodied and in resonance with your unique truth. In this episode I dive into: -the social and cultural messages that affect your relationship to power -the process of how to energetically unburden parts of yourself that are worried and fearful of being seen -why inner power comes from your depths, and how you can find it -the relationship between control and power, and how you can shift that dynamic -how you can start to practice stepping into your inner power now and so much more! Episode 12: Chasing Clarity It's a common struggle for all of us: finding direction and clarity. If you're a conscious human, who wants to grow, inevitably you will come across the question: and what now? What's the next step? What's my bigger picture vision? And even though this is a question that comes up often, so many of us get stuck in seeking clarity, get stuck in finding the "right" answer, which leaves many in a state of inaction and frustration (usually at the self). Episode 07: Embodied Leadership Through the 5 Elements: The Water Element This is the second installment of the this five part series on how to rise into deeper and higher levels of embodiment through the wisdom and guidance of the 5 elements of nature. This week we dive into the water element, which is a reflection of our relationship to the emotional realm. Having mastery and a sense of embodiment when it comes to emotions is CRUCIAL for effective, genuine, intentional and powerful leadership! Not only that, but your emotions are the GATEWAY into the unconscious realm and how you are *being* with your emotions, effects how quickly, intentionally and integratively (so key!!) you move into your next level of leadership and embodiment. In this episode we talk about: -why it's important not to categorize emotions as "bad" or "good" and how to step out of the unconscious patterns that has our conscious mind avoiding and villifying certain emotions, while forcefully trying to experience "good" emotions (which in the long run, doesn't actually work). -how you get comfortable with uncomfortable emotions and why this is going to change the way you lead your business and life -the emotions that are unconsciously affecting your life and business based on the gender your family, parents and society at large identified you with (which may or may not be the gender you identify with right now). -how certain emotions like anger, shame, guilt and fear are generally the most uncomfortable, but are the {shadow} emotions you have to get to know in order to shed the layers that are creating obstacles for your next level of embodiment. -why those uncomfortable emotions don't often register in your conscious mind, and yet they drive the majority of your decisions and affect how you show up in your business and life! And SO much more! Subversion is a necessary part of living in your Wildness. By definition, Wildness is living in the vibration of your unique expression, leading a life that reflects that uniqueness, and one that often (if not always) resists the dominant narratives of society. Today I am joined by Blair Eckensen, the creator behind The Subversive Supper, a blog that details her journey of creating and living on a modern homestead with her family, where she practices intentional living, radical homemaking, and subverting the system that be to nourish herself and her family. In this episode we explore: -Food justice, and it's importance in elevating our planet, as well as taking back control of how we nurture ourselves -How to subvert the way you eat everyday, with easy tips and tricks on how to start your own mini food revolution -The role of food in our lives, and how to heal our relationship with it (especially as women) -How to be in recovery from the things that numb us out, and create more disconnection within ourselves (like alcohol, social media, being busy, etc), and why it's important -the difference between authentic gratitude and forced positivity, and why being with your uncomfortable parts is what starts the change within you And MUCH more! Blair's BIO: My name is Blair and I write about my journey on our modern-day women-run homestead at thesubversivesupper.com . I am a mother to my daughter, a wife to my wife, a woman in recovery, a seeker, dreamer, maker, lover … I believe that living an intentional life, and caring for yourself so that you may be present and whole, is a radical and subversive act in this brutal world that we live. I believe that a life well lived is one that creates more than it consumes.
