Gwinnett County Police have issued five warrants for second-degree burglary against Walker and are seeking 12 indictments on the same charge. Walker was arrested in Clarkston for a related burglary. Detectives continue to investigate, and additional suspects may be indicted. The burglars used stolen cars with stolen license plates for their crimes. Law enforcement identified a Dodge Charger as the main suspect vehicle, leading to Walker's arrest after a burglary in Clarkston. Walker is currently held without bond in Gwinnett County Jail. Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives or Crime Stoppers for a potential cash reward............…..read more at gwinnettdailypost.com STORY 2: Lilburn candidates will make pitch to voters at forum Lilburn residents will have an opportunity to engage with mayoral and City Council candidates at a candidate's forum organized by the Lilburn Woman's Club. Scheduled for October 23 at the Lilburn Police Department and Municipal Court Complex, the event will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Following the forum, a 15-minute meet-and-greet session will be held. Residents can submit questions for the forum during Lilburn Daze on October 14. The mayoral candidates comprise incumbent Mayor Tim Dunn, former Mayor Johnny Crist, and Mohammed J. Hossain. City Council Post 1 contenders include incumbent Councilwoman Yoon-mi Hampton and Christina van Maanen, while City Council Post 2 features incumbent City Councilman Scott Batterton, Tiffany Brunson, and Joseph Payne.   STORY 3: Two health businesses and one eyebrow center are coming to The Shoppes at Webb Gin The Shoppes at Webb Gin, located on Scenic Highway, has secured leases with three new businesses, signaling a boost in occupancy to 90%. These newcomers include The DRIPBaR, a vitamin therapy concept, fitness brand Club Pilates, and Browlash, specializing in eyebrow enhancement services. The DRIPBaR offers wellness shots and intravenous therapies targeting specific wellness needs. Browlash provides eyelash extensions, 3D eyebrows, lip coloring, eyelash tinting, and hair removal services. Club Pilates, under the Xponential Fitness brand, will offer various fitness classes and membership packages. Brian Kemp unveils new college admission initiative Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has unveiled "GEORGIA MATCH," the largest direct-to-college admission initiative in the United States. Over 120,000 high school seniors in Georgia will receive personalized letters listing public universities, colleges, and technical colleges they are academically eligible to attend. The program aims to engage all learners, including those who may not have considered higher education. Students can claim their spot at the institution of their choice, with application fees waived next month for participants. GEORGIA MATCH addresses the state's workforce needs and is a collaboration between various education and government agencies. The program's cost is estimated at $1.3 million in its first year.   STORY 5: Wesleyan notches exciting 27-24 win over White County In a thrilling Region 7-AAA football match on October 7, 2023, Wesleyan overcame a late-game deficit to defeat White County 27-24. The game saw a dramatic turnaround in the fourth quarter when Wesleyan used a trick play to secure the winning score. Quarterback Ben Brown passed to Jamie Tremble, who then threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Shepard Jones. Wesleyan's defense held off White County, clinching the victory and handing White County its first region loss. Brown played a crucial role for Wesleyan, finishing with 255 passing yards and two touchdowns. Wesleyan displayed determination and grit throughout the game, earning praise from their coach, Franklin Pridgen.   We'll be back in a moment   Break 3:  ESOG – INGLES 9 – JACKSON EMC   STORY 6: Spooky experiences and a comedic thriller fill Lionheart Theatre's stage this fall Lionheart Theatre's fall season promises thrills and chills with their Halloween-themed production, "Bewitched." The show features 10 short plays by various playwrights, offering haunts and scares. Audience members are encouraged to dress in Halloween attire and enjoy spooky-themed desserts during intermission. The production is part of the Artober and Norcross Artsplash Festival, with performances running from October 6 to 15, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and a matinee on October 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets range from $16 to $18, and the show is recommended for ages 16 and up. In November, Lionheart Theatre will present "Deathtrap," a comedic thriller about a struggling playwright who sees a potential Broadway hit in a student's script. This production runs from November 3 to 19, with shows on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Tickets are also priced at $16 to $18 and include dessert during intermission. Both productions offer an exciting blend of suspense and humor and can be enjoyed at Lionheart Theatre's location in Norcross.   STORY 7: Seckinger football milestones continue in 55-0 rout of Heritage-Newnan The Seckinger football team achieved several significant milestones in their recent game. They secured their first shutout victory with a commanding 55-0 win over Heritage-Newnan, marking their first-ever road victory and establishing a new school record for points scored in a game. This triumph comes on the heels of their first-ever school victory the previous week, resulting in their first varsity winning streak. The team showcased impressive performances from players like Harry Robinson, Jaimen Williams, and Jayden Clarke on offense, and they also scored through special teams with an 80-yard punt return TD and a fumble recovery touchdown. Coach Tony Lotti praised the team's maturity and execution. Even if you don’t live in Tennessee or have arts programs at your nonprofit organization, we hope this mini series will provide new insight about how the arts can strengthen the nonprofit sector, and even your specific mission!   In Part 2, we explore four arts programs in Middle Tennessee demonstrating how the arts are relevant to everyone everywhere. Whether we’re talking about STEAM education, inclusive activities for people with disabilities, promoting fearlessness and ingenuity, or even improving your professional conduct at work, the arts are present and needed. Our guests include: Dale McCreedy & Katie Woodward from the Discovery Center, who explain why the A for Arts was added to STEM education. Every month, the Discovery Center hosts SPARK programs (STEAM Play Achieves Real Knowledge) for kids, and they sponsor Tennessee’s annual STEAM Festival in Artober.
