This week I met with Harry Robinson – a few of you may know himHe is a man of God and a visionary, and for awhile we worked together- he is also someone I love and respect• during our long, rambling conversation, Harry said something that woke me up• he said, “I've been finding beauty lately–everywhere”- it seems I need to be awakened to beauty• friends do this for me – though they don't always know it◦ maybe, I've been trudging through too much muck, concerned with◦ the condition of our nation and disappointed with obnoxious Christians• but since our meeting on Tuesday, I've been seeing more beautyI'll tell you why we begin with beauty todayBecause Jesus has been warning us away from behavior- we could describe as “ugly religion,”• and it has been spreading through our culture in recent years◦ it's always been here: people who enjoy heated arguments◦ who assume it's their job to pronounce judgments,◦ who will always act like they're more righteous than others• it's possible you've seen your share of ugly religion

Harry Robinson has good news... the Manchester United Weekly Podcast is returning for a tenth series, coming very soon. Listen to find out what to expect from the first two episodes. While we wait for the start of Series 10, Harry reads an extract from his book The Men Who Made Manchester United, released last autumn. You can hear the introduction, prologue and first chapter as a taster. Gary Neville calls it "a great background spanning almost a hundred years on the men who made everything that followed possible. A must-read for any Manchester United fan." "At a time when money is king in football, this is an important insight into just how humble the beginnings of Manchester United were. These are human football stories but they also provide a slice of Manchester's social history," says John Murray, BBC Football Correspondent. Andy Mitten labels it "a fine book with incredible attention to detail as Robinson unearths and examines long-forgotten United stories." Michael Crick says: "Harry Robinson's new book on the first 70 years of Manchester United is just brilliant... one of the best in the 1000 United books on my shelves. Robinson hasn't just done loads of painstaking research, with sparkling new details, he's also a great storyteller. It just flows from page to page." Manchester United have won four games in a row! Scott McTominay wins another game for Erik ten Hag's side, who remain five points behind Aston Villa and six behind Spurs but have found some momentum. Rasmus Hojlund's unstoppable scoring march continues to help United achieve a rare away victory at a top-eight side, a first since 2021. With that damning statistic in mind, the key question to ask today - beyond how satisfying was that - is whether this 2-1 victory at Villa Park is a sign of something sustainable or a one-off? Is this harking back to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sides in many ways? Or should we look over some poor moments in an intense 90-minute match given the end result was so good and so valuable? All of that, plus much, much more is answered by hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait on the latest episode of the Manchester United Weekly Podcast where we'll also be playing Guess the Player, giving you an extensive Academy Briefing and previewing Sunday's away match at Luton Town. We also talk Old Trafford. Wembley of the North? That's what they're saying. Rebuild, renovate, demolish, move - what options do we favour? Our Patrons get a bonus 15-20 minute Q&A in which we answer questions like ‘Is McTominay the new Smalling?', ‘why hasn't Ten Hag implemented a successful plan?' ‘if Ten Hag could give out a managers' player of the year award who would he give it to, and why is it Scott McTominay' ‘are there opposition players you've begrudgingly enjoyed watching from rivals?' ‘what are De Gea and Phil Jones doing?' ‘which striker should United sign next?' Manchester United… the most in-form team in the Premier League... apparently! It doesn't feel like it, but, somehow, that's four league wins in five games for Erik ten Hag's Reds. It was hardly convincing; United failing to convert some good chances again and going through another game without a forward scoring. Victor Lindelof was the unlikely match-winner in a one-goal home victory over Luton Town. Earlier in the week, we did see a forward score. And twice. Rasmus Hojlund continued to show his excellence on the European stage by putting United two ahead at his old club. A wonderful performance disrupted by a nonsensical refereeing decision, in the aftermath of which United crumbled a little. 2-2 and then back in front, a Fernandes penalty. But then behind again, 4-3. A gutting result after some really positive signs. So, lots to review from one win and one defeat on the latest episode of the Manchester United Weekly Podcast with hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait. We discuss the positive signs in midfield over the last three games and why Harry Maguire's excellent diagonal passes are a good sign, but also demonstrate something lacking in the side. Harry talks about his trip to Copenhagen and we play Guess the Player, give you the Academy Briefing and discuss Man Utd Women's start to the season. How would we sum up the last 10 years at Old Trafford? What is the club's greatest achievement and worst moment in the last decade? It has become an all-too-familiar feeling walking out of the away end at the Emirates and across the bridge past those big Arsenal letters thinking ‘what could have been?' ‘how close was that?' and, really, more than anything, ‘for fuck sake'. For a second successive year, an Argentine celebrated with intensity and passion as United appeared en route to a famous victory. Last year, Lisandro Martinez's brilliant header was made futile by a 90th-minute winner checked by VAR. This year, Alejandro Garnacho's wonderfully composed one-on-one finish was ruled out for the tightest of offsides and Declan Rice's 96th-minute deflected strike won it for Arsenal. Gutting. *Patrons get 25 minutes extra* Manchester United's start to this season is confounding. Erik ten Hag's Reds appear constantly on the edge of breakdown, and always close to defeat, too, and yet six points from the opening nine is a respectable beginning to any campaign. Old Trafford stood in shock as United conceded twice in four minutes against Nottingham Forest, but there remained a sense of confidence and defiance, and justified it proved for a 3-2 comeback victory followed. Further injuries have followed to deepen the sense of crisis in M16, but it's an away trip this weekend, to Arsenal. Back to London, where our record has been so poor recently, for a huge challenge at the Emirates. On a glorious sunny Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford and in a rare 3pm kick-off, Manchester United delivered with 18-year-old Alejandro Garnacho sealing a deserved victory in a must-win game as the Reds close in on that top four spot in the Premier League and Champions League qualification. Three games remain, away at Bournemouth and at home to West London duo Fulham and Chelsea. Two more victories will secure it. If they are as comfortable as Saturday, that'll do. Wolves hadn't a single shot on target while United had nine, and should have scored more. Erik ten Hag aptly reviewed: “Again we make the goalie of the opposition the man of the match.” Down at Wembley on Sunday, things were not so rosy. A world record crowd watched Manchester United Women's first FA Cup final but the Reds couldn't convert a dominant, expectation-shattering first-half display into an advantage and instead it was relentless winners Chelsea who were clinical and won it 1-0 with Sam Kerr scoring in a third consecutive FA Cup final.
