Healing After A Traumatic Relationship by Boomer Perrault
Getting Through A Financial Crisis With Karena Calhoun by Boomer Perrault
Welcome to this new Kind Conversation with Boomer Perrault from the kind social media campaign '1 a Week' and "Unapologetically Me - a mental health podcast". Boomer shared the heartfelt story of how '1 A Week' came about and how every act of kindness has the ability to make a difference in someone's life. He was kind enough to share details of his aspirations for the years ahead and it's clear, although hugely successful, this is just the start of Boomer's amazing journey and he has so much to offer - it really is inspiring. We talk about...- how heartbreak lead to the inspiration behind the social media campaign '1 A Week'.- how, although out of his comfort zone, Boomer then began his podcast to address conversations around mental health- the power of a smile or a simple 'hello'- the kindness challenge of '1 A Week' and how it has resulted in approximately 7,000 kind deeds shared in 2 years- how kindness is free and Boomer demonstrates this with a recent project he has lead to help the homeless people in his community- the fact that kindness can take courage and sometimes you have to face the fear and challenge yourself- trying something new and not being afraid to say when it isn't working or you don't enjoy it anymore. "The best way to learn is to do".- Boomer's amazing dreams around starting a charity to mentor and be a positive role model to High School children in lower income areas.- it's not about the number of people you reach or the number of followers you have, it's the ability to change someone's life for the better.Boomer is on such a wonderful journey of kindness and I just love the fact that he's learning at every step and evolving all the time. His kindness deserves to be nurtured and celebrated - we're all behind you Boomer! Welcome to Episode 10 of Nooks and Crannies! Fortifying Beeferoni, Big Pharma Eugenics, Nonplus Teens and Full Throated Endorsements ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: On this very special Tenth Anniversary Spectacular, Evan and Matt spend time talking about their poke checks and underhanded hockey moves..turns out Matty is a clean goon, aside from the Mike Tee encounter, sorry about that brother. We maintain the Canadian tradition of speaking ill of the weather (8:10), followed by Matty’s approach to “Fortifying” garbage processed foods like the indelible Beeferoni, following this Matt provides a “Full Throated” endorsement of Willows Pizza, the best pie outside of Naples (9:57) Hey folks, remember when you spit in that vile for fun and shipped it to a faceless corporation? Ya turns out that corporation was bought by a big pharmaceutical firm and you are now unwilling participants in a global epidemiological study with no compensation (14:57). After that cheery chat, we start plugging the heck out of other people’s shows: Issa Wurie of Fear and Desires had Matty on to talk all about insomnia, the episode is about Issa discovering his sleep apnea and how this has affected his life, this will be a highly regarded show at some point, extremely creative and I am really proud of your Brof! We also chatted about, the soon to be our show, Play Comics Podcast, formally hosted by the kindest most giving and generous podcaster around Chris Osborne (21:33), he recently had N&C own Paul Combs and P. Cosmo from Varmints on so be sure to give those a listen. Tell Chris; Nooks and Crannies are coming! (23:54) So Matty was recently listening to conservative AM talk radio in Victoria and there was this ad for this website. Honestly, no spoilers on this one but do plan on marking your calendar for Nooks and Crannies very own FB Live Stream Event!! Matt, the hottest guest in podcasting, Sanderson basically just gloats for like 5 mins about all the amazing shows that want to have him on (31:10) including; Pop Up Film Cast, Unapologetically Me: a Mental Health Podcast, and Submitted For your Approval: A Twilight Zone Podcast. (35:33) Evan fires off a recommendation of his own for the podcast Michael and Us, a Canadian podcast that revisits Michael Moore movies and others with a harshly lefty critique that enjoys slamming so-called ‘progressive liberalism’. Of course Evan loves these guys. We end the show with one more recommendation and some words of thanks for the compelling general conversation podcast Mouse and Weens, thanks Jo for the early support and kind words (37:19) Podcasts Mentioned Fears and Desires: by our brof and yours, Issa Wurie Play Comics Podcast: Our new podcast project we just gotta let Chris know first… Pop Up Film Cast: A comedic parody pod that offers hilariously fake movie reviews Unapologetically Me: A Mental Health Podcast, by Boomer Perrault aka best name in podcasts Submitted For your Approval: A Twilight Zone Podcast, its about the Twilight Zone… Michael and Us, a lefty retrospective movie review podcast, Evan also aged me horribly here.. Mouse and Weens, our first super fan, aside from Matt’s mom, gets a special shout out. Thanks Jo, really appreciated those messages while I was going through my insomnia, it was a good motivator to get back at it! :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: N&C Links Archive of Episodes Topics and Lighthearted Complaints Watch Matty Fight on Social Ponder Evan’s Blurry Pictures Graphics by Donna Hume ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Our Condolences Lindsay

Boomer Perrault is a Connecticut resident who, with the help of a friend, started the 1 a Week Organization. 1 a Week promotes positivity and mental health awareness, through acts of kindness, giving out their own sponsored gifts along the way. In this week's episode of The Kindness Podcast, Boomer talks with me about how the 1 a Week Organization encourages people to be kind. Get involved by visiting www.facebook.com/1aweekchallenge.
Having lost myself and sense of purpose, I began a journey of overall self improvment. Along the way, I started to notice a trend that every time I would help someone and do something kind, I would instantly feel this rush of happiness. I started “1 a WeeK” to give others that same sense of purpose. “1 A Week” is an organization which promotes mental health awareness and positivity, through random acts of kindness. Hoping to make an impact on the world, giving out a few gifts along the way.
