Episode Notes Notes go here A slayer...a reaver...Dark haired...sullen eyed...gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth...hey, who are we talking about here? Not who you're thinking of! It's Imaro, by Charles Saunders, a response from an African-American writer to the works of fantasy writers like Robert E Howard. Saunders loved the brutal action and fantasy of REH and hated the unvarnished racism in his stories, and as a result created the genre of "sword and soul", with a secondary-world fantasy Africa and a black version of Conan. It's a worthy successor to Howard's pulp fantasy, and a rip-roaring good time! Support us on Patreon and listen to the show a week early! Now 3 years into the Oncology Care Model, practices participating in the episode-based model have recently received results from performance period 4, representing care delivered in the first half of 2018. Results from the previous 2 performance periods have some practices concerned because there was little improvement; During both performance period 2 and 3 approximately 30% of practices achieved savings. With performance period 4 results out now, it’s a transformative point in the model in which practices that have not yet achieved a performance-based payment have to either enter 2-sided risk or leave the model. To dive into the most recent results and their implications, we spoke with Charles Saunders, MD, chief executive officer of Integra Connect. Two years ago, author Micah Harris appeared on Monster Kid Radio to discuss Charles Saunders' 1958 film The Woman Eater. Micah and Derek agreed to eventually discuss its kinda-sorta sister film The Man Without a Body (dir. W. Lee Wilder, Charles Saunders), and this week on the podcast, it finally happens! And, man, it's a dozy! SPOILER WARNING, by the way! Welcome to THE STORY OF THE SOMME podcast series, which tells the story of the Somme Offensive in the words of those fighting on the Western Front and their families back home. The series was commissioned by the DEPARTMENT FOR DIGITAL, CULTURE, MEDIA AND SPORT and developed in partnership with the FIRST WORLD WAR CENTENARY BATTLEFIELD TOURS PROGRAMME and CHROMERADIO. It was first released to accompany the SOMME100 VIGIL at Westminster Abbey, held through the night of 30 June/1 July 2016 to mark the centenary of the opening of the Battle of the Somme. In this podcast, LIEUTENANT CHARLES SAUNDERS writes a last letter home before his battalion went 'over the top' on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. Charles Saunders was born in Lowestoft in 1888. When war broke out, he was working for the Beccles branch of Barclays Bank. Author joins Monster Kid Radio this week, and he's bringing The Woman Eater (dir. Charles Saunders) with him. This 1958 film is the main topic of conversation, but that's not all Micah and Derek talk about this week on the podcast. We'll learn a bit about Micah's background as a monster kid and writer, what interesting . . . creature . . . he had for a pet as a kid, and, of course, he plays a round of the Classic Five. Also this week, Derek has just a few words to say about the status of Universal's Dark Universe, as well as a few audio offerings that may or may not scratch your monster kid audio itch. On the Wednesday, September 5th 2012 broadcast at 12PM Pacific/3PM Eastern my special guest commentator is author, consultant and long term HMO and managed care industry advisor William J. DeMarco. For more about Bill and Pendulum Health, click here. Our topic is titled: ACOs, Are We There Yet? We'll hear from Bill given several rounds of ACO CMS submissions with which he or his firm had either direct or indirect involvement. Clearly those chosing to sit on the sidelines notwithstanding, there is a land grab going on in plain sight. I note that as of early June alone, Dr. Charles Saunders reported a backlog of 180 health systems had approached Aetna's ACO Solutions Group to partner or sponsor some version of an ACO or medical home in one or more of their respective markets.
