He and his five siblings grew up without a gospel witness in the home or any external gospel witness to speak of. A small gospel seed was planted in his heart as a teenager when a group of Christians were witnessing at a mall, but John did not receive Christ as his savior until he was an adult. Having gone along with the cultural tide of a life fueled by the flesh, the Lord opened his eyes to the emptiness of the world and brought him to a saving knowledge of Him. Just like that, almost everything about him changed and he hasn't stopped witnessing since. Episode 223Bonkers - 16In January of 2026, ICU nurse Alex Pretti was killed in a violent confrontation with border patrol agents carrying out their duties in Minneapolis and corporate media pundit turned Youtuber Don Lemon allegedly participated in an anti-ICE protest inside of a church during a service. Pretti, who had been involved in violent encounters with ICE previously, became the new face and martyr of the political left, while others were quick to point out the violent bad-faith tactics of Minneapolis leadership, riot organizers, and Pretti himself. The country found itself in a feverish debate about ICE tactics in a political climate that overwhelming voted a more hardline approach to immigration enforcement. What power does the state have to push back against federal power? How do we handle radicalized protestors? Not to be outdone, Don Lemon filmed himself coordinating with professional protestors planning to disrupt a church service for ties one of the pastors has to ICE. Parishioners were subjected to loud, angry, profanity-laced chants from protestors and Youtubers alike while he weaseled himself from person to person in the name of "journalism", asking questions that basically amounted to "how do you feel about being an evil person who supports ICE?" She is now a talented author that has stepped into the Christian fiction space to create books with biblical (not just moral) values, encouraging stories, and the shameless exaltation of Christ. The murderer, an evil serial offender who was a menace even to his own family, walked away unbothered as Iryna died right in her seat where he attacked her. How could this have happened? What could have been done to prevent this? How is it that no one came to her aid until it was too late? And how is it that we did not hear about her murder until two weeks after it happened? The National Association of Education Progress (NAEP) annually releases a representative study of students' academic performance. Known as “the Nation's Report Card,” NAEP scores are an indicator of how much children are learning.This fall's report shows only 24 percent of Oregon eighth graders are “at or above proficient” in math, and 27 percent are proficient in reading. Of Oregon fourth graders, 31 percent are proficient in math, 27 percent in reading. These scores are lower than the national average.This isn't a surprise. Money spent in the public education bureaucracy has increased for decades, but everyone knows academic achievement has declined. It's no wonder polls show strong majorities of voters, including poll respondents in Oregon, support “giving parents the right to use tax dollars designated for their child's education to send their child to the school which best serves their needs.”Oregon public schools can't meet the needs of all children for reasons that are many and complex. But solutions can be simple, starting with freedom and opportunity. To improve education outcomes, policymakers should make it easier for parents to match their students with public, charter, magnet, online, private, home, or micro schools that best meet their needs and goals. Parents want their children to learn, and they want access to schools that will help them do that effectively. Children deserve no less than a great environment to reach their full potential.

In early April 2025, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released two major policies on Federal Agency Use of AI and Federal Procurement of AI - OMB memos M-25-21 and M-25-22, respectively. These memos were revised at the direction of President Trump's January 2025 executive order, “Removing Barriers to American Leadership in Artificial Intelligence” and replaced the Biden-era guidance. Under the direction of the same executive order, the Department of Energy (DOE) also put out a request for information on AI infrastructure on DOE lands, following the announcement of the $500 billion Stargate project that aims to rapidly build new data centers and AI infrastructure throughout the United States.
