Despite the horrors following the 2022 invasion and at great personal cost, they refused to leave, continuing to provide help, comfort, supplies, and the gospel to the people of the region. Understandably, most missionaries have fled. With so many lives lost, so many homes destroyed, and so many families bereft of hope and security, people are now more open to spiritual truth. John and Cathy stand in the gap, serving the Lord and being the vessels through whom God continues to shower grace on the Ukrainians. Additionally, their ministries to the deaf and to military servicemembers are thriving amidst the chaos. Though they did not initially set out to minister to these people groups, God equipped and commissioned them for it. Chile is a long, narrow, beautiful strip of land in South America spanning from the base of Peru all the way down to the tip of the continent, and jumping the ocean to claim certain parts of Antartica. The people groups are diverse, but the need is the same: a saving faith and growing relationship with the Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ. Geoffrey Fahringer would have never in a million years seen himself as a missionary because he was far along the path of military service and law enforcement. But after the Lord saved him, it became increasingly clear that God had plans for his family in that beautiful country. Geoffrey and his family surrendered, and today we get to hear all about what God has been doing to bring a gospel witness to the people there. What is Hinduism, and what do Hindus believe? Is it compatible with Christianity or does it stand in stark contrast? Episode 186 "Nobody does guns like the U.S. does guns." -Aristotle, probably. We don't need a bad meme to know that of all the nations on earth, the United States is the only one with the right to keep and bear arms enshrined in the law of the land with absolutely no restrictions. There are more guns than people in the U.S., and the number of gun owners in any other nation pales in comparison. But the United States is also in significant moral decline, and the absolute tragedy of preventable gun violence is a harrowing reality that demands attention. What that attention should be, however, is hotly contested with no real resolution in sight. Though the problem is complex and multi-faceted, one area seems to be gaining steam, namely, the prosecution of parents for gun violence committed by their children. Whether for a school shooting or a single person attack, parents have been indicted, tried, convicted, and sentenced for a crime they did not commit. Is this right? Should parents be responsible for major crimes their children commit? In what ways are parents responsible for the safety of their children and others when it comes to firearms? On this episode of the Removing Barriers, we sit down with gun expert and enthusiast Michael Jordan (of no relation to THEE Michael Jordan) to discuss the these questions, as well as role and impact society has in this matter. H's journey is not just about his personal salvation but also about the myriad barriers he faced and overcame along the way.H was born in rural North Louisiana, near the Ouachita River, in a time when the Great Depression had left its mark on every aspect of life. His early life was marked by his father, a strong and sturdy man, and his mother, a sweet and tender woman. They created a stable environment, albeit one without much religious influence. Despite the lack of regular church attendance in his family, H found his way to the local Baptist church, often hitching a ride from passing churchgoers. It was in this humble setting, with no electric lights and a preacher who only visited bi-monthly, that H first encountered the gospel. The message was simple yet profound: "Ye must be born again."For anyone facing their own barriers to faith, H's story offers hope and encouragement. It underscores the idea that while we cannot force others to accept Christ, we can live our lives in a way that reflects His love and grace and proclaim the truth of the gospel that they may know the mercy and grace available in Christ and Christ alone. Episode 166 Alistair Begg is a well-known and well-respected pastor and Bible teacher who inadvertently set the world of Christian netizens ablaze when he revealed that he encouraged a Christian grandmother to not only attend an LGBTQ wedding, but to also bring a gift. While he had some supporters in this matter, the majority were shocked and appalled by this stance so uncharacteristic of a man who had proven himself to be a faithful man of God for well over 40 years. Episode 164 The United States is in the midst of great political and social turmoil, and it seemed that the tragic case of Dexter Reed would be a sort of George Floyd 2.0. In the immediate aftermath of the showdown with police, It was revealed that five plain-clothes officers fired 96 rounds at Dexter Reed: another helpless black man gunned down by white cops. "They shot him 96 times for no reason!" was the battle cry, and the usual race-baiting social justice 'leaders' quickly slithered in to represent the family, shoving the grieving mother in front of rolling cameras to speak about her son. They got the drama they wanted when she collapsed mid-sentence in her grief, and so began the cries against fundamentally racist America and the drum-banging for social justice, egging on emotional bystanders who had yet to fully comprehend what had even actually happened in the first place. Who was Dexter Reed? What happened the day he was stopped by police officers? Why did they shoot so many times? We are to protect them from dangerous situations and dangerous people (including themselves!) but today, a mutated threat has emerged with breakneck speed and incredible complexity: social media. Such is the concern about this technology that in late January of 2024, U.S. lawmakers grilled the CEOs of the most popular social media platforms to discover what can be done to protect vulnerable children from its malicious capabilities. Episode 157 In early 2024, Moms for Liberty representative Tiffany Justice sat down with MSNBC's Joy Reid to discuss the so-called book bans taking place in schools across the country, mostly in response to the shocking discovery that there are books in the libraries and media centers of public K-12 schools that contain explicit descriptions and depictions of sexual activities and violence. In almost all cases, the content is not only explicit, but also vulgar. Moms for Liberty claims to be merely raising awareness and empowering parents to fight back at the local level, but the likes of Joy Reid and Pen America are accusing them of banning books and attacking freedom of speech and expression. Are these accusations true? What is Moms for Liberty really all about? Is the concern about questionable content in these books overblown or politicized?
