Born in Hong Kong but raised in the U.S. after living in Nigeria for a year, he grew up in a nonreligious home with no Christian witness. His father was agnostic and his mother followed Buddhism. Though friends in his childhood professed to be Christians, their lives gradually suggested otherwise and provided no real witness to the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. In spite of this, the Lord had already been working in his heart, and eternity was a persistent question at the back of his mind. Episode 239Bonkers - 18Muslims try to shut down Christian evangelism, a former lieutenant governor commits murder-suicide, scientists just can't let go of millions of years despite evidence, and a sad generational case in Trinidad all remind us of the desperate need for evangelism and ministry to the lost all across the globe. Political and social commentary can be made one way or the other, but Jesus Christ and Him crucified is the only truth that can defeat Islam, nihilism, evolution and millions of years, and the destructive power of sin. He was buried and was raised on the third day, and He has promised that whosoever believes in Him has eternal life. So when we talk to our family, friends, and neighbors about His power to save, we can share real hope and true help. Sometimes it results in hard truths that are counter to our current culture; we can expect to be ignored, mocked, or perhaps even attacked for it, but we simply cannot leave the world to itself without the Savior. Bis dahin haben die altgedienten Hollywoodrecken Burt Lancaster und Dean Martin ausreichend Zeit, ihre Ehen zu ruinieren und Affären mit den sexy Euro-Sternchen Jean Seberg und Jacqueline Bisset zu pflegen. Mein geschätzter Gast Franz Köhne kann der Hochglanz-Seifenoper dabei etwas mehr abgewinnen als ich, der viel zu lange Zeit dem actionreichen Finale dieses Mega-Blockbusters entgegenfiebern muss. Zum Glück kommt das sehr günstige, sehr chaotische und teils sehr alberne Sequel Airport 1975 – Giganten am Himmel (1974) viel schneller zur Sache, auch wenn die Qualität etwas auf der Strecke bzw. der Landebahn bleibt. Aber hey, es gibt eine singende Nonne!

The Farias work carefully and diligently to establish and maintain relationships that keep the doors open to sharing the true light of the gospel with the people. Wer allerdings nach Anhören der aktuellen immer noch einen Haufen ungenutzer zum Teufel jagen will, findet weitere inspirierende Vorschläge, allesamt vom jeweils vortragenden gestestet. Haben sie nicht vielleicht mal mit Thomas zu Limb Bizkitczu gehen um zu schauen ob Wall of Death noch immer so witzig ist, wenn hier der Name altersbedingt zum Programm wird? Oder doch lieber wie Klaas zum Tennis, wo sich Andrea Petkovic als Director of Excitement persönlich um gute Erlebnisse kümmert, wenn man irgendwo zwischen nem Spargelhäppchen und Michael Stick anstarren kurz mal in der Royal Box weggedöst ist? Alles Nix für sie? Obacht: Wer bis dahin nix hat muss mit Lundt zu Magenta, und wer denkt dass man sich da so einfach aus der Affäre stehlen kann, weiss wohl nicht das sich selbst ein Lionel Messi nach nem Spiel bei Kerner persönlich abmelden muss, weil er sonst nicht ins Hotel darf. Ich wäre also vorsichtig mit allzu fahrlässigem Umfang mit diversen Zeitvertreiben. Man hat ja nur ein Leben, es entsteht eine irre Hektik und am Ende schafft man nicht alles. Vergangene Woche wurde beim ORF ein neuer Intendant gewählt: Clemens Pig, langjähriger Geschäftsführer bei der Nachrichtenagentur APA, soll den Sender ab Januar 2027 führen. Die Wahl stand im Schatten eines Skandals, der den ORF seit Monaten beschäftigt. Im März trat der damalige Generaldirektor Roland Weißmann zurück, weil eine Mitarbeiterin ihm Belästigung vorgeworfen hatte. Es ist nicht die einzige Affäre, die den ORF in jüngerer Vergangenheit erschüttert hat. Wie in vielen Ländern steht der öffentlich-rechtliche Rundfunk auch in Österreich stark unter Druck. Die FPÖ würde ihn am liebsten abschaffen. Wie will der neue Intendant es schaffen, das verlorene Vertrauen vieler Menschen in den Sender wiederherzustellen?
