A red giant is a luminous giant star of low or intermediate mass (roughly 0.3–8 solar masses (M☉)) in a late phase of stellar evolution. The outer atmosphere is inflated and tenuous, making the radius large and the surface temperature as low as 5,000 K and lower. The appearance of the red giant is from yellow-orange to red, including the spectral types K and M, but also class S stars and most carbon stars. The most common red giants are stars on the red-giant branch (RGB) that are still fusing hydrogen into helium in a shell surrounding an inert helium core. An equinox is an astronomical event in which the plane of Earth’s equator passes through the center of the Sun, which occurs twice each year, around 20 March and 23 September. On an equinox, day and night are of approximately equal duration all over the planet. They are not exactly equal, however, due to the angular size of the sun and atmospheric refraction. To avoid this ambiguity, the word equilux is sometimes used to mean a day in which the durations of light and darkness are equal. See Length of equinoctial day and night for further discussion. Equinoxes on Earth The equinoxes are the only times when the solar terminator (the “edge” between night and day) is perpendicular to the equator. As a result, the northern and southern hemispheres are equally illuminated. In other words, the equinoxes are the only times when the subsolar point is on the equator, meaning that the Sun is exactly overhead at a point on the equatorial line. The subsolar point crosses the equator moving northward at the March equinox and southward at the September equinox. The equinoxes, along with solstices, are directly related to the seasons of the year. In the northern hemisphere, the vernal equinox (March) conventionally marks the beginning of spring in most cultures and is considered the New Year in the Persian calendar or Iranian calendars as Nouroz (means new day), while the autumnal equinox (September) marks the beginning of autumn. In the southern hemisphere, the vernal equinox occurs in September and the autumnal equinox in March. London based producer and DJ, Reso a.k.a Alex Melia is a man with a fascination for all things robotic and futuristic. His hybrid of hyper beats and tech-basslines sometimes feel more suited to a post-apocalyptic Tokyo than the contemporary concrete of most dubstep and we dig it. "A truly inspiring experience his music’s mech-mania induced synthesesia conjures images of neon-tinged neo-Japanese cityscapes, powerful hulking automatons and violent bassline machismo." Melia's much anticipated debut LP, ‘Tangram’ was released on Civil Music back in November 2012. As most had expected it shook some serious ground and garnered praise and support from the likes of Mixmag as album of the month, XLR8R, Guardian and MTV as well as from bass music personalities such as Liam Howlett, Skrillex, KOAN Sound, Rusko, Starkey and more. A landmark in the producer's so far pretty underground career, the 13-track LP showcased his flair for intricate programming and love for all things jazz (as a trained jazz drummer), electronica, bass and drums. In 2013, Reso sits at the peak of a new breed of electronic music producers and we're not the only ones to take notice. Within a relatively short space of time, Reso has remixed artists as diverse as Carl Cox, DJ Kentaro, Om Unit, KOAN Sound, Drop The Lime and Buraka Som Sistema. This weekend he'll be descending over Delhi for a exclusive show with Audio Aashram and Wild City at blueFROG and we're willing to put money on the fact that it's going to be an absolute banger. To give you a taste of what to expect he's made an exclusive mix for Wild City, which touches upon a variety of styles of bass music. Bringing it home with yet another Headtron episode (it really was unintentional, we swear), Number 68 comes from the man known as +verb.
