Description: Life throws some challenging stuff at us. Sometimes we rely on traditional therapies and resources trusted in Western medicine to help us through. And sometimes, we need to look to alternative and newly emerging tools to experience the relief or breakthrough that we need. In today's conversation, Mimi Bouchard, founder of the Activations app (formerly known as Superuman) shares her transformative journey from a troubled adolescence marked by substance abuse and self-doubt to becoming a successful entrepreneur and advocate for personal development. She discusses how her unique approach to 'activations' has helped her and so many others achieve emotional and mental wellbeing by utilizing unique audios that are a mix between a motivational podcast, cinematic music and guided visualization. From guided visualization practices and breathwork to grounding, reiki, and other body work Jen and Amy also talk about other “woo-woo” wellness approaches that have been useful for them in their healing needs.  For The Love listeners have an opportunity to try Activations at a steep discount on a yearly subscription by visiting activations.com/jen. *** Thought-provoking Quotes: It was the beginning of a completely new life for me. I'm not going to say that I woke up the next day and I was perfect and completely transformed. It's obviously a mega-journey and it's not linear and growth is so messy. – Mimi Bouchard  I had to believe in myself. The only thing that got me there was just this core deep belief in myself that I had to develop. I didn't have that in my younger years. Doing this work of personal development was the only thing that mattered when everyone else doubted me. It drove me. At the end of the day, it's a very lonely journey at the beginning. I had to be alone a lot. I had to be the only one who deeply believed in myself. – Mimi Bouchard When you're feeling alive, it slows down time. What a blessing to be able to slow down time – life goes by so quickly. The more things we can do to slow down time, the better our lives will be, and more clear. You have to unnumb yourself. When you numb yourself so much, it's very hard to get clear or get unstuck. It's very easy to stay in your old ways and just numb, numb, numb until you just feel nothing anymore. – Mimi Bouchard I think so much of it is the intention with which you do things. If you are open-hearted and seeking, a lot of tools can benefit you. – Amy Hardin Resources Mentioned in This Episode: The Success Principles: How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be by Jack Canfield - https://amzn.to/3CYaVq7 Activations App - https://www.superhuman.app/home Activate Your Future Self: The Secret to Effortlessly Becoming the Happiest, Healthiest and Wealthiest You by Mimi Bouchard - https://amzn.to/4gck8t6 Guest's Links: Mimi's website - https://www.mimibouchard.com/about Mimi's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/mimibouchard Mimi's Twitter - https://x.com/mimibouchard Mimi's Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/officialmimibouchard Activations App - https://www.superhuman.app/home Connect with Jen! Description: Life is hard—and family and marriage, as part of God's design, come with their own challenges. Just because something is hard doesn't mean it's wrong. In this episode, we unpack the tension between fulfilled dreams and unmet expectations. We explore the trap of believing, “I'll be happy when…” and how comparison can steal our joy. What happens when reality doesn't match the dreams we had?We dive into the truth that God's dreams for us are often bigger—and harder—than what we imagine. Yet, it's through surrender and perseverance that we discover deeper joy. Drawing from Scripture, we reflect on what it means to embrace the hard work, steward what's been given, and trust that barren places can become fertile ground for God's purposes.Key Themes:The mindset of "I'll be happy when…" and the dangers of unrealistic expectationsHow comparison leaves us disappointedTrusting that God's dreams for us are greater than our ownEnduring hard seasons with faith, knowing that God rewards those who steward wellScriptural Truths:Romans 12 – Living as a sacrifice, transformed by GodLuke 9:23 – Taking up our cross dailyProverbs 3:5-6 – Trusting and submitting to God's planPsalm 23 – Finding comfort and provision in every seasonReflection Questions:How do I surrender and grieve disappointments when things don't go as planned? What does it look like to truly give my dreams to Jesus? Is the joy I seek found in a fulfilled dream, or in surrendering my dream to Him?Can the barren places in my life become fertile ground for God's purposes?Join us as we reflect on the joy that comes not from ease, but from faithfulness, endurance, and trusting God's bigger picture—even when it looks nothing like we imagined. DESCRIPTION Life purpose coach, podcast mentor and fulfilments leader, Amy Rowlinson joins the podcast today to talk us through her journey through life and how she created her passion plan which enables people to focus on their why. Together, Pete and Amy discuss how your fire in the belly is a blend of all your values, why it is important to use your toughest  life lessons to educate others  and why there is so much in life to be discovered if you dare to look for it.   KEY TAKEAWAYS It is all about understanding when you are ‘in-flow' and realising that life is not just about ‘finding your why'. Focus on your ‘why' and understand that your ‘why' is a constant and is not just one piece of information about you that you do for an exercise. Carry your why through and follow that thread in your life. Look outward but focus inwards.   Fire in the belly is a blend of all your values. It doesn't come from a materialistic perspective but it comes from a meaningful and purposeful perspective. Fire in the belly is passion, purpose, freedom and brilliance. Have that fire in the belly every single day, whilst you are still earthside, you are not done.   It is important to always see a balance in life. Where you see conflict you must also see peace, where you see intelligence you must also see ignorance. There are always both elements present but you always chose to see one over the other. It is often when we do not see the positive sides and focus on the negative sides that we have an unbalanced viewpoint.   Do not live by your regret. Use your mistakes to help educate others in the ways that you have learnt some tough life lessons.   There is so much in life to be found, discovered or unearthed if you dare to look. Often, people are just sitting there. It is usually right there with you, it is just a case of listening to yourself, being true to yourself and exploring your options in a deeper fashion, only then will you get the answers that you need.   BEST MOMENTS “Look outward but focus inward.” “It is not a quick fix, it is an ongoing focus.” “Whilst I am still breathing, I am not done.” “To see the light you have got to see the dark.” “It is difficult to know if I have been in the past, because I often feel like I have been to the future as well.”   ABOUT THE GUEST “Hi, I'm Amy Rowlinson. I'm a Life Purpose Coach, Podcast Mentor and a leader in purpose and fulfilment. At the heart of what I do is simple, I help people to focus on their WHY with clarity, uniting their passion and purpose with a plan to create the life they truly desire.I have a fascination for understanding what drives people in life and working with my coaching clients the question WHY sits at the heart of every decision they make. As I spend so much time with this one question, I even have a podcast called Focus on WHY where I speak with people from all walks of life providing uplifting and relatable conversations designed to inspire you to take action.”   https://www.amyrowlinson.com ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton' from the ‘Mighty 247' company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly'. Pete is an Entrepreneur, Mentor, Coach, Property Investor, and father of 3 beautiful girls. Pete's background is in Project Management and Property, but his true passion is the ‘Fire in The Belly' project itself. His mission is to help others find their potential and become the mightiest version of themselves. Pete openly talks about losing both of his parents, suffering periods of depression, business downturn and burn-out, and ultimately his years spent not stoking ‘Fire In the Belly'. In 2017, at 37 years of age that changed, and he is now on a journey of learning, growing, accepting, and inspiring others. Pete can connect with people and intuitively asks questions to reveal a person's passion and discover how to live their mightiest life. The true power of ‘Fire In The Belly' is the Q&A's - Questions and Actions! The ‘Fire In The Belly' brand and the programme is rapidly expanding into podcasts, seminars, talks, business workshops, development course, and rapid results mentoring.
