Last we met our heroes, they were charging outside the walls of the Eagle Watch keep to save as many innocent lives as they could, and to distract5 the oncoming attack of Howlers, when out from a building explodes this giant metal monstrosity, something like a Hell Tank! The party goes into a panic trying to deal with not only this armored hell beast, but the unending influx of Howlers, both land and from the air! There were many times where people went down, did crazy maneuvers, and fought to the end. But in the end, the Eagle Watch shielding barley kept up, but with large cracks and damage all over, and the last thing the party sees is the retreating howlers grabbing an unconiuous Nell away, and Henny and Conner chasing howlers. . . disappearing into the city. Last time we met our party, there was a commotion coming from the front of the Eagle Watch keep, an old fort that was converted into an in years ago, repurposed back into a defensible location against the onslaught of demons invading the city of Kenebres. Our team of heroes were gaining a sense of the status of the people in the keep, from the guards, and military holding the keep, to the general populous of people just trying to survive, when all of a sudden, a crash and screams came from the front gate. The demons are making an assault to the keep as a large number of townsfolk try to make their way into the safety of the Eagle Watch. Henny starts by taking the high ground, and Sortek and Conner try their best to charge outside the keep and draw the attention of the demons to save the defenseless townsfolk from harm! Starting in late December, American bald eagles migrating south from Alaska and Canada descend along the banks of the Columbia River to hunt for salmon, shad and other fish. A prime winter destination is The Dalles Lock and Dam where dozens of the raptors congregate and roost nearby in tall trees while scanning the water's surface for their next meal. Visitors can see these majestic birds up close at Eagle Watch, an annual event free to the public that kicks off this Friday across from the visitor center at the dam. Amber Tilton, a former park ranger with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Morgan Olson, Raptor Coordinator at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, join us to talk about Eagle Watch and the remarkable comeback of this species from the brink of extinction.
