Ummm, Say what? This is the one about how one guy got 5000 people to think small and win big selling things!Years ago, I crashed and burned. I had a failed business venture that broke me both in spirit and financially. I was without a job and, for the most part, always worked for myself up until then. I had nothing to go for, no great ideas, no job, and a family to support. So what do you do in that case? For me, it was getting out there and getting any bleeping job I could find - fast - to get back on my feet. I landed at Radio Shack as an entry-level sales associate with no retail experience at all.I was just thankful to get a job, but it was a hit to my ego at the time. I thought I was tumbling backward instead of having career success forward motion. Boy, was I wrong!I learned so many things about business, people, selling, and marketing there. Not only did it help me get back on my feet fast, but I also made a lot of great friends and had a ton of fun. It's where I developed my 1 Percent rule, which is my way of thinking about making significant changes easier to manage and achieve. I owe the basis and idea of that rule to an exceptional leader and great person, Bernie Appel (RIP), and his way of winning big with small change. In this episode, Kelli and I dissect a funny-sounding but effective ploy that anyone can use to help with their career success. Please enjoy!Visit the official My Job Here Is Done website to learn more, to contact us, and to sign-up for very infrequent non-spammy tidbits by email if you'd like. Best wishes!Dave and Kelli

In this episode we talk about being overwhelmed. When you’re running your own business you do all the jobs. Marketing, accounting, sales, shipping, receiving, buying, and all the other ones I forgot to mention. So it’s easy to get overwhelmed and feel anxious or feel like quitting. So in this episode we talk about how to take on big tasks and break them down into small manageable bites. You got this you can do this. Reach me @resellfla on IG and Snapchat.
I've created a monster!!! This episode has a beginning, middle, and end from 3 different classic prerelease episodes. We discuss my embarrassing anger problem, then we really tear into A Perfect Circle's horrible recent album "Eat The Elephant" (from our first ever recorded prerelease episode!) which of course meanders into how horrible Tool and their fans are, and our experience at the 2001 NIN concert. This was fun to make (though time consuming). See if you can find the edit points! (one is kind of obvious).
This episode is all about time management and goal setting. I talk about large goals and how you can try to eliminate the anxiety that comes with accomplishing them. I also talk about one of my favorite techniques for time management "The Pomodoro Technique".

On the forty-fifth episode of Audioface: New albums: J. Cole's "KOD", Lord Huron's "Vide Noir", and A Perfect Circle's "Eat The Elephant". Sean and Dan are back to break down a big week in music. SOPHIE and a member of the Horrors collab on a track, and Ariana Grande releases her first single since the Manchester terror attack. #Beychella happened. Vince Staples may have ended R. Kelly's career, while Kendrick Lamar may have the best rap career of all time. J. Cole has many opinions, and some rap fans are very angry about them. Guitar Center is going out of business, EDM star Avicii dies at 28, and Prince apparently didn't know he was taking the drug that killed him. Kanye plays Twitter like a fiddle to promote new albums from himself, Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, and Kids See Ghost -- a new duo of himself and Kid Cudi. Lord Huron's latest rock alternative LP was released this week, as well as hard rock (?) supergroup A Perfect Circle's first album in more than a decade. Dan revisits his stance on #FreeMeekMill. And one repetitive producer brings another repetitive producer out of retirement. Support independent music commentary at no charge! Essential for fans and sporadically thrilling for newcomers, Eat the Elephant is the kind of reunion record that most bands would kill for. While it doesn't court the same kind of controversy as the band's previous political statements, it rewards multiple listens enough to overcome the vast majority of its shortcomings. If you've ever been angry and tired of being angry at the same time, this one's for you.An album review by Tyler Clark.Learn more about your ad choices.
