Welcome back to the Daily Metal Breakdown. In today's episode, we break down a serious new civil lawsuit hitting Tool, Puscifer, and A Perfect Circle frontman Maynard James Keenan in Arizona, where a former management partner alleges a retaliatory corporate freeze-out over their craft gin venture. Plus, legendary bass icon Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy, Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, DIO) drops a massive curveball by announcing independent solo material heavily inspired by the pristine engineering of the late-1970s Yacht Rock movement. Finally, we look at Machine Gun Kelly powering through a grueling two-hour set after a violent, failed after-party roof jump left him with a severe back injury. What You'll Hear in This Episode: Boardroom Battles: The full operational breakdown of the civil complaint filed against Maynard James Keenan in Maricopa County over Potions LLC and Thirteen Moons Gin. Whistleblower Retaliation Allegations: Why plaintiff Dave Sanclemente claims he was locked out of the company books just one month after reporting alleged misconduct at Keenan's outside business operations. Rudy Sarzo Goes Independent: The legendary timekeeper details his new studio tracking approach, bypassing record labels to honor his early Miami roots with clean, bass-forward arrangements. Lipps Service with Scott Lipps

Failure returns to SPIN Magazine's Lipps Service with Scott Lipps for one of their deepest interviews yet. Ken Andrews, Greg Edwards, and Kelli Scott sit down to discuss the legacy of Fantastic Planet, the chaos of the 1990s alternative rock scene, addiction, sobriety, the band's breakup and reunion, and why their music has continued to resonate with newer generations decades later. The conversation dives into the making of their documentary Every Time You Lose Your Mind, their connection to Maynard James Keenan and Tool, touring during the golden era of alternative rock, working with Steve Albini, the rise of LA's underground club scene, and how bands like Paramore, Deftones, and Tool helped carry Failure's influence forward. The band also opens up about Hayley Williams' admiration for Failure and her appearance on “The Rising Skyline.” Scott and the band also explore the sonic experimentation behind Failure's music, the emotional themes woven throughout Fantastic Planet, the stories behind songs like “Stuck on You,” and others, plus how the modern music industry compares to the Slash Records and Warner Bros era. Episode 200 of The Rizzuto Show — a funny podcast that probably should've been canceled by now — delivers exactly what you'd expect: absolute chaos, questionable decisions, and just enough structure to keep the FCC mildly interested.Things kick off with a surprise intro from Billy Corgan, who casually drops in like it's no big deal and immediately reminds everyone that Riz is somehow celebrating another birthday without aging. Totally normal. From there, the show spirals into its natural habitat: organized nonsense. We bring up a local event featuring Maynard James Keenan and his wine empire (because yes, rock stars now double as sommeliers), and before you know it, we're talking about wine tastings, concerts, and how this all somehow connects back to the show. But the real centerpiece? Scott's birthday. And let's just say… the gifts were thoughtful in the same way a prank is “thoughtful.” A mix of heartfelt, confusing, and borderline suspicious items gets opened live on-air, leading to reactions that range from appreciation to “what exactly am I holding right now?” It's the kind of moment that defines a funny podcast — unpredictable, slightly inappropriate, but undeniably hilarious.Of course, we hit “Crap on Celebrities,” where we break down everything from upcoming music documentaries to bizarre celebrity rankings that make absolutely no sense. There's also a deep dive into outlaw country legend David Allan Coe, complete with stories that feel too wild to be real (but somehow are). Add in pop culture debates, nostalgia tangents, and one of the most questionable “best vocalists” lists ever created, and you've got yourself a full episode of beautifully controlled chaos. This funny podcast is everything The Rizzuto Show does best: real conversations, ridiculous moments, and a group of people who probably shouldn't be left unsupervised this early in the morning. And somehow… we made it to 200.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Clownvis rolls into the studio and immediately chaos begins. It's a Friday on The Rizzuto Show, which means zero structure, maximum tangents, and at least one topic that makes you question how we're allowed on the air. This episode of your favorite comedy podcast kicks off with Clownvis breaking down his now-viral interview with Maynard James Keenan. Months after recording it, clips from the conversation have taken off — especially Maynard's hard stance on cell phones at concerts and the unexpected pasta praise that might have cracked the notoriously guarded rock legend. We talk about how comedy disarms people, how “Serious Clownversation” works, and why sometimes a clown can get answers other interviewers can't.Then things pivot. Hard.A new poll says 2 in 5 people have cried at work. Naturally, we start sharing stories. From emotional tragedies to happy tears to hiding under studio tables in soundproof rooms, we unpack why it's more common than anyone admits. It's vulnerable. It's real. It's also immediately followed by a debate about Lent sacrifices and why Wendy's Baconators apparently take the biggest hit every year.We also tackle:– The science behind “old person smell” (yes, it's real)– Why replacing your underwear every six months might actually be a thing– The rise of solo dining and solo concerts– Things that sound impressive until you actually do them (owning a boat, running a marathon, being an extra in a movie)– A fossilized prehistoric butt discovery– Why tape makes sonic booms when you peel it– And a heroic dog rescue that temporarily restores our faith in humanityThis comedy podcast episode somehow balances weird science, emotional honesty, St. Louis energy, and absolute nonsense in the span of two and a half hours. It's daily humor, entertainment gossip vibes, life advice you didn't ask for, and a reminder that aging means you might smell different — but at least we're all in it together. If you like your comedy podcast slightly chaotic, unexpectedly heartfelt, and aggressively Midwest, this one's for you.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

It's a full-blown Friday free-for-all on The Rizzuto Show as the crew dives headfirst into a triple-threat episode of chaos.Clownvis joins the show and talks about his viral interview with Maynard James Keenan — yes, that Maynard — and how he managed to get one of rock's most notoriously difficult interviewees to actually loosen up and laugh. The crew dives into comedy as connection, crying at work (turns out, most of us have), and the fine art of breaking emotional seals via TV shows like Lost and movies like Big Fish. It's vulnerable. It's weirdly wholesome. It's still unhinged. The legendary Bean Boozled “Good or Gross” challenge returns, and it's every bit as traumatic as you remember. Stink bug vs. toasted marshmallow. Booger vs. juicy pear. Burnt rubber vs. licorice. Somehow, against all statistical logic, the callers go on an absolute heater — five straight “good” beans — while the studio debates swallowing rules, floor beans, and whether anyone might actually jump out a window over a stink bug flavor. Concert tickets are on the line, dignity is not.And because no Friday is complete without spiraling into nonsense, the show also tackles:The rising trend of solo dining and solo concertsWhy driving a van becomes attractive after 25Whether Lent sacrifices actually last more than 48 hoursWhy people are specifically giving up Wendy's BaconatorsHow often you're “supposed” to replace your underwear (spoiler: nobody is following that timeline)And whether someone in the room might secretly have a “moss butt” situation brewingFrom pasta with Maynard to Fruit of the Loom formalwear to lawn seats at Five Finger Death Punch, this episode is a beautiful blend of gross-out games, accidental life advice, and the kind of spiraling tangents that somehow only make sense on a Friday.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Should You Change Your Underwear In Every 6 Months?“Most unhinged glow-up”: Unsurprisingly, Americans are obsessed with Fruit of the Loom's sweatpant suitSolo dining surges 52% as Americans embrace 'Me-Me-Me Economy' over shared mealsNC mom of three who vanished 24 years ago reveals why she ditched familyHopkins County woman charged after allegedly using “movie money” to post bondMan, two girls injured after suspected lightning strikes during Perth stormTwo charged with murder of Australian grandfather after 'mistaken identity' kidnappingBlock lays off nearly half its staff because of AI. Keenan is of course best known as the frontman for Tool, the dark, complex, heavy band he formed way back in 1990—but whose records come few and far between. Keenan is also the frontman for A Perfect Circle, but the reason for today's chat is yet another band, Puscifer. This one started out almost as a solo outlet for Keenan's weirdest ideas: There are comedic elements, and—fun fact—Puscifer actually sprung to life as part of a Mr. Show sketch. (Google it, it's a good story.) But the band has evolved over the years into a steady trio that features Keenan alongside Carina Round and Mat Mitchell, and that more recently has explored Keenan's most theatrical and straightforward impulses. It's funny, weird, and heavy, and the brand new Puscifer album, Normal Isn't, even nods sonically to UK post-punk bands like Killing Joke. Check out “Self Evident” right here. The other half of today's conversation is Daniel Ash, whose resume also includes a remarkable number of incredible bands, starting with Bauhaus, moving directly into Tones on Tail, and then heading for a long stretch into Love and Rockets, which reunited a couple of years ago for some very welcome shows. Ash's guitar playing over the years has been quietly influential on a ton of players; you can hear his tone in a remarkable swath of bands. Last year, he released the first album by his latest outfit, Ashes & Diamonds. Called Ashes & Diamonds Are Forever, it's unmistakably Ash's voice and tone, though in some flashier dressing on occasion. It's a lot of fun. Check out “Teenage Robots” right here. In this wide-ranging conversation, Ash and Keenan talk about Keenan's wine business—he was nice enough to send Ash some bottles in advance of this chat—as well as touring, making videos, and the seemingly inevitable future of AI. Ash thinks it's going to be good, so even if he's wrong, it's nice to hear some optimism. Ash is also obsessed with motorcycles, leading Keenan to suggest an intervention. Enjoy. In this week's mixtape rewind, we go back a couple of years to when Matt and Sam did a deep dive into music supergroups.Imagine loading a playlist where legends keep walking through the door. That's the ride we built as we dive into supergroups that actually deliver, from the crunch of Audioslave and the finesse of Cream to the indie cohesion of Boygenius and the pure joy of the Traveling Wilburys. We chase the central mystery behind these collaborations: when distinct sounds collide, what holds, what changes, and why does it matter? We start with the gravitational pull of great voices. Chris Cornell gives Audioslave immediate identity while Tom Morello adds that unmistakable edge, and Maynard James Keenan turns A Perfect Circle into a masterclass in mood without copying Tool. Then we test chemistry in the engine room: Chickenfoot fires up old-school rock craftsmanship, and Them Crooked Vultures stretch grooves into cinematic builds powered by Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, and John Paul Jones. For a genre swerve, Mount Westmore brings bass and swagger with Snoop, Too Short, E-40, and Ice Cube trading bars like it's a victory lap.Contrast keeps the mix alive. Wild Flag threads surfy drums with indie bite, and Boygenius shows how three solo voices can trade lead without crowding the song. Prophets of Rage fuse protest and power, pulling rap and rock tight around a sharp social focus, while The Highwaymen remind us that sometimes the most classic move—four giants trading verses—still lands hardest. And to cap it all, the Traveling Wilburys prove that when Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty decide to have fun, the hooks practically write themselves.Be Yourself by AudioslaveBig Subwoofer by MOUNT WESTMOREWhite Room by CreamDown the Drain by ChickenfootElephants by Them Crooked VulturesRomance by WILD FLAGPassive by A Perfect CircleBruised by The BensLiving on the 110 by Prophets of RageHighwayman by HighwaymanSatanist by boygeniusWilbury Twist by The Traveling Wilburys Support the showVisit us at https://www.superawesomemix.com to learn more about our app, our merchandise, our cards, and more!

Yul VazquezTake a walk with me down Fascination Street, as I get to know Yul Vazquez. Born in Havana, Yul and all of the women in his family escaped Fidel Castro's Cuba to make a new life in Miami Beach, Florida. In this episode, Yul and I chat about how difficult it was for his mother, and grandmother to relocate to a new country with two children: having no money, no job, and not speaking the language. He shares how impactful those women, that experience and those early times were in influencing his life moving forward. I bring up some of the thought processes behind Yul's work as a painter, and as a photographer. We even discuss some specific pieces that I am madly in love with. Next. I pepper him with questions about his music career, where he was signed to TWO different major record labels, under TWO different bands; all before he even thought about becoming an actor. Also, I get him to tell me how he became such good friends with some of music's most iconic players. Yul is great friends with so many of the folks that we all grew up listening to, including: Judas Priest's Rob Halford, The Cult's Ian Astbury, and Maynard James Keenan (Tool / Pucifer / Sessanta 2.0). Yul shares tales of how he came to be the guitarist for the bands Urgent & Diving For Pearls; before being told by a psychic that he would become a successful actor! We go all over the place in this interview. I question him about his member ship in a character actor dinner club that is comprised of about a dozen of his friends; some who are previous guests of my show are. I even get Yul to tell me what he got his wife for their 23rd wedding anniversary, which was about a week after we recorded this conversation. We talk about what made him and some other Latino actor friends start The LAByrinth Theater Company in New York. Finally, I ask all the questions I can about his work on Seinfeld, Magic City, and of course Severance. Yul is such an amazing talent in all areas. Check out his website YulZavquez.com for more insight into his painting and photography and catch Yul on just about every television show or film out there. (Side note, we do talk a bit about a baseball cap that he designed, that I think is slick, and stylish. For more information about that, you may need to hit him up on Instagram.)

Maynard James Keenan of Tool has launched a new website at MaynardJamesKeenan.com. Keenan says, "Some people had a few questions. So we built a website with some vague answers. Like a late 2000s blog but way cooler."   Sci-fan enthusiasts, Metallica's Kirk Hammett and Sammy Hagar plan to collaborate soon and even have a title for the project. Toby Keith just fulfilled a lifelong dream, even over a year after his death.  His racehorse, Render Judgement, will compete at the Kentucky Derby this Saturday.  His horse currently sits at 30 to 1 odds.   Amazon Prime recruited Eric Church and John Fogerty for a new NASCAR theme song! They are rebooting a vintage Creedence Clearwater Revival song for "Up Around The Bend" for use as a theme for the streamer's new coverage of NASCAR.
