Your favorite Fiorentina podcast idiots are back and are every bit as grim as you'd expect. We talk about relegation, of course, and preview the transfer window. More than anything, though, we're just sad. Sad about the Viola, yeah, but sad more generally too. For a change of pace, we also talk about Rocco Commisso and club ownership in general. Did that cheer us up? Well, no. McMike ended up needing a distraction. Producer Mike predicted the heat death of the universe. And Tito somehow got sadder than both of them. Thank you as always to Sport Social Podcast Network for hosting us and to Windchime Weather (Nate's got new music out!) for the music. And as always, we hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed making this. You could leave a rating and review if you want, but whatever. Learn more about your ad choices. Interviews With The Hunting Masters - Big game Hunting podcast
Elk Hunter Missing in Colorado Episode title “Missing in the High Country: An Elk Hunter's Story in Colorado” Summary Guest Dac Collins In this episode, John unpacks the developing story of an elk hunter who went missing in Colorado—what's known so far, how search-and-rescue operations unfold in the Rockies, and the practical steps backcountry hunters can take to reduce risk and help responders if something goes wrong. The conversation balances empathy for the family with actionable fieldcraft and preparedness. Note: Facts are evolving. We stick to verified information and avoid speculation. What you'll hear Timeline & terrain: What's known about the incident and the landscape factors at play (elevation, weather, access). SAR reality check: How mountain Search and Rescue is mobilized, what slows missions, and what information helps the most. Preparation that matters: Comms plans, weather/nowcasting, navigation backups, and “don't split the party” rules. If you get turned around: Immediate steps that improve survival and make you easier to find. For hunting partners at home: How to structure check-in windows, map shares, and who to call if a teammate is overdue. Respect & responsibility: Keeping the focus on the missing hunter and supporting family and responders. Quick takeaways Tell two people your plan (route, camp, bail-out options, check-in times). Carry redundant comms: phone + battery, offline maps, PLB or satellite messenger (preset check-ins & SOS). Weather drives risk—nowcast every 30–60 minutes in the mountains. If lost: STOP (Stop, Think, Observe, Plan), make yourself findable (bright panel, whistle, signal mirror), and stay put when it's safer than wandering. Safety checklist (copy/paste) Trip plan shared (route, alt routes, check-in times, who to call) Phone with offline maps + spare battery PLB or sat messenger with preset messages to a contact Paper map + compass (know a bearing to camp/trailhead) Weather layers (puffy, rain shell, hat/gloves) + headlamp Signal gear: whistle, bright panel, small mirror Fire kit, basic med kit, calories & water treatment Call to action
In this episode of the Nonprofit Exchange, I had the pleasure of speaking with Singh, a passionate advocate for mindful leadership and burnout prevention. With over 23 years of experience in corporate America, Singh faced a significant challenge during a ransomware attack in October 2020, which led him to explore mindful practices that he had unknowingly been using since his youth. We discussed the alarming issue of burnout among nonprofit leaders, emphasizing that it often stems from a lack of fulfillment in three key areas: gratitude, grace, and personal growth. Singh explained how burnout begins with self-doubt and can escalate into physical manifestations of stress, urging listeners to recognize their body's signals as vital data for transformation. Singh shared practical strategies for overcoming overwhelm, including three essential questions to ask oneself in any situation to regain focus and clarity. He highlighted the importance of reframing stress into strategic clarity and provided a simple tool called STOP (Stop, Think, Observe, and Proceed) to help individuals manage their emotional states effectively. We also touched on the myths surrounding nonprofit work, such as overcommitment and the belief that self-care is selfish. Singh emphasized that taking care of oneself is crucial for being able to serve others effectively. Finally, we explored the role of mindfulness in decision-making, clarifying that mindfulness is about being present and intentional rather than conforming to traditional notions of meditation. Singh's insights and tools offer hope and practical steps for nonprofit leaders to combat burnout and enhance their well-being. For more information about Singh and his work, listeners can visit his website at singhleadership.com, where they can find resources, engage in his programs, and access his podcast, "Mindful Leadership Transforming Lives." It's nearly Christmas time and what better way to celebrate than working out how far along to fascism America is? Or the new parliamentary bill to legalise assisted dying? God does something so very interesting. First, God is out side of time. Time only is created when we have the sun and the moon. So, there is no time before the creation. And in Genesis 2:1-3 we see that God makes time kadosh קָדוֹשׁ - which is translated as holy. From the Gesenius Hebrew Lexicon we find that kadosh means to be set apart, to be set aside, to separate as special, to be distinct. Time is the first thing that God makes kadosh or set apart. Pagans make statues holy. Pagans make trees or animals holy. Pagans make buildings holy. Yet, the one God, the only God, He makes time uniquely special. One day per week there is a 24 hour period that we enter into that is special and unique. Why? More than that we read in English that God rested. Rested? God needs a nap? God needs to kick back and "take a load off?" Huh?? Did God rest in the 7th day? Later in Exodus does He also command us to rest on the 7th day, to lay back, to take a nap? The answer is NO!! Absolutely not. Curious? Come join us in lesson 7 and reconnect to those ancient days and to the Hebrew of the Torah and come and learn the Gospel written by Moses under the inspiration of Adonai. On top of that, the Sabbath (שַׁבָּת Shabbat in Hebrew) testifies of Messiah Yeshua, Jesus the Christ. Check it out from one of the chapters in one of the class books from Light of Menorah. We were treated to a great episode of SmackDown tonight. Unfortunately CM Punk was beat to a pulp by Drew MacIntrye, joining Chad Gable in the afterlife. A TCR listener has changed her mind about wanting kids and it's causing problems in her marriage, Matt's giving his wife the cheapest anniversary gift ever, Nicasio talks jealousy and how he handles it (in true Nicasio fashion), Tino talks missing an NBA star missing a playoff game for the birth of his son, and Serina speaks on facial expressions and body language in the bedroom...
Recently, I turned up to hear how a group of customer-facing "Business Development Managers" (BDM's) told the story of their business. What happened was as I expected. They immediately launched into what they do and the product/service they provide. Why do they do this? It's where they're comfortable and confident as product specialists. It's what they've always done. It's what the prospect expects! They think this is how you win business - it's not! Is that what the customer wants? Yes, but much later in the meeting when they've built a relationship with you. How should this type of business meeting start? My personal favourite is to start with a question. "In order for me to understand what are your concerns, is it OK if I ask you some questions"? This question, or a version thereof, is a great conversation opener. "Please explain to me the problem you are experiencing currently". In this part of the meeting the person opposite should be doing most of the talking, with you asking questions to understand their issue and teasing out the key concerns of the person you're talking to. Next: Once you have ascertained this person's problem that you believe you can solve, you can then move on to telling him a little about yourself and your organisation. Note: You do not tell this person everything you do; continue to focus on what you can offer to provide a solution to this particular problem.) Bring the meeting to a close: When you have done the above, recap the problem briefly, get the person to agree that your understanding is correct, and then paint a word picture of how their situation will improve as a result of your intervention. Finally, agree upon the next action: Who is doing what, and by when? E.g., send a proposal, ask them to visit a similar project you recently completed, send a sample, visit your showrooms, and discuss dates for commencement. Finally, agree on the date of when you'll next get together (before you leave the meeting). REMEMBER: The Number One failure of all meeting leaders is to agree on an action. With no action agreed, it will be like starting all over again. Drivers roll through stop signs. So why can't bike riders? The federal government says the safest way to ride a bike is to roll through the intersections when there are no cars. Its even more important for cyclists because stopping and starting take a huge amount of energy. Believe it or not, some people don't ride bikes because not stopping at intersections can get you a ticket. Now, laws are sweeping the nation to change that and right here in Nevada, we are considering similar legislation. We will talk to advocates who have passed or are working on new laws in Boston, Washington DC and Rochester. One of them, Erik Noonan of We Bike Rochester is a League of American Bicyclists Certified Advocate, and he is moving to Las Vegas where he hopes to continue his advocacy. BIKE LIFE Radio is a show on KWNK where we talk to people about their bikes and lives—presented by Ky Plaskon & the Truckee Meadows Bike Alliance. Ky has been commuting by bike to work for more than 30 years. He also worked in radio and TV for over 20 years from Alaska to San Diego, Las Vegas, Reno, and Sacramento. He wants to bring a lighter and funnier feel to bike discussions. For more information and to contribute to TMBA, go to https://bikewashoe.org/

We are back! Our first episode this fall is all about mindfulness, a buzzword we are seeing everywhere these days. Bethann and Chrissie are speaking with Jan Michener, Executive Director of Arts Holding Hands and Hearts (AHHAH), a nonprofit in Chester County that provides programs and trainings to increase resiliency and create positive pathways towards productive and fulfilling futures for youth through mindfulness tools, artistic initiatives, and professional development training for staff. Jan shares with us what “mindfulness” really is and what it means to be mindful in your daily life. We also discuss how a mindfulness practice looks different for everyone, ways to take purposeful pauses and how to practice this with your kids, and the importance of focusing not on how to do but how to be. This conversation was powerful and calming in itself. Join us! Things we mentioned during our conversation: STOP (Stop, Take 3 slow breaths, Observe inside and outside, Proceed with presence and purpose) PPP – Practice purposeful pauses AHHAH offers Good Morning Yoga on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday at 9am on Zoom for a small donation. Barry, Abigail, and special guest Jack Cornell discuss Jack's album One in Wins and sample Octopus Backyard and Hundreds of Babies from Tripping Animals Brewing Co. in Doral, Florida. Jack and his friend Terry Anderson have been musical partners for over 40 years and have collectively formed the rhythm section of The Fabulous Knobs, The Woods, and, most recently, Terry Anderson & The Olympic Ass-Kickin Team (or the O.A.K. Team). The musical genealogy of the North Carolina music scene is complex, and we do a lot of name dropping in this episode. For a more detailed explanation of the cast of characters we reference, we recommend reading The Fabulous Knobs Wikipedia page or visiting our website to read the extended edition of these show notes. Jack contributed a cover of You're So Rude by Faces to Be Good to Yourself, an album featuring original songs and performances by North Carolina artists to benefit musicians battling addiction and depression. Jack volunteers with the Novick Cardiac Alliance, a charity that provides total cardiac care to children in low- and middle-income countries. Abigail matriculated Jack into the Abigail Hummel School of Speaking Smartly About Music by comparing his song The Man to Stop Stop by The Black Keys. Jingles are by our friend Pete Coe. In this episode of Conversations with a Shaman; I ask about the acronym STOP. Stop. Think. Observe. Plan. In my opinion, this acronym and method are crucial nowadays. I know for a fact that this helps me enormously overcome anxiety, anger, and most of all fear. I ask, “Could you explain to the listener how you came about the phrase and method of STOP?” If you have a particular topic matter that you would like to hear, please send me a request at insidetheravenseye@gmail.com.

I used to think that growing happened when you were in class or church and heard a great speaker. But I learned over time that God can teach us ANY time, ANY where and using ANY one. God can even use me reading a daily bible story to my 5 year old to teach me...and He has. He did this past week, actually.A simple Bible story spoke volumes to me. God spoke to me that I need to believe in His miracles and even more than that, I need to Ask Him for specific things. We don't have, because we don't ask. We need to believe that the God of yesterday, is the God of today. We need to stop rushing through life and stop and enjoy everything He has given us. When you feel that God is not answering prayer. When you feel that God isn't doing miracles today. I challenge you to stop. I challenge you to stop and actually pay attention. When you feel like God isn't doing anything for you? I challenge you to stop and think if you actually are talking to Him, asking Him, believing in Him.A simple story of Moses changed my prayers. We just need to pay more attention.Love always, AdrianneEmail adriannejtaylor@yahoo.comFind me on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/adrianne.m.taylorInstagram @adrianne_joyful

Store clothes as outfits so you never have to wonder what you're going to wear. Sort them out and hang them up, but get rid of the ratty things or clothes you won't wear again. Sort everything into categories, like working on it daily or weekly, depending on how much time you have available. Tops, bottoms, sweaters, dresses SHARE: Share the responsibility for laundry with other family members. Let children help, even if its not perfect. Telling them not to do things when they don't do them perfectly is training them not to help. Only put away the clothes that you wear. Have the other people in your home put away their own clothes. (As long as the kids are old enough) Spouse won't help? Try trading household duties; they can do dishes and you do laundry for example. If they aren't helping around the house, check out the book, "Drop the Ball," by Tiffany Dufu. It's a great book to help create balance with home chores. STOP: Stop bringing in more clothes so your home doesn't get cluttered again. Stop spending money on things you don't need. Remember the importance of shopping with purpose. Remember - Extra clothing comes into our closet when we didn't really need it, because we bonded with our friends over the experience of shopping for clothes. Bond with your friends at a park or a museum or out to lunch. Have an experience instead of spending money on things you don't need. Stop using spending money on things as your fun, and enjoy experiences instead. Sarah's other tips: Thinking about "Sunk cost", leads to guilt and shame. If you've spent money, you feel like you need to keep the item so you feel like you haven't wasted the money. You can sell the clothes you don't wear to recoup the cost, or donate them and get a tax write off Get rid of the extra clothes you have "just in case" Get rid of those single socks A word from Sarah: "Hi, I'm Sarah Moore. I've been eliminating chaos since 1989! My left brain discovered a long time ago that it has the mind of a Lego master builder when it comes to filtering out all the busy work and time wasters of a process or project leaving only what is necessary to achieve the desired result. My right brain is a little woo and I believe that everything is energy. My left brain is OK with that because Einstein thought so too. Your thoughts are energy - they are electrical impulses traveling down neurons. Food is energy: plants fix the energy of the sun. But it's really easy to get that energy stuck. Ever had the same song playing over and over in your head all day? Exactly, Stuck energy. When you combine the two halves of my brain you get a project manager who has a laser focus on the critical path: the only bits of a project that actually need to get done to achieve the desired result. Whether that critical path is the a to z of a huge corporate project, a small entrepreneur's project or the pathway to getting dinner on the table with no fuss...I have the ability to cut through the fluff and leave only what truly matters. These days I prefer to work with overwhelmed women who have too much on their plates and piles of stuff threatening to take over their homes. I bring you discipline and simplicity to help you find balance. With a big helping of no excuses tough love too."
