We were treated to a great episode of SmackDown tonight. Unfortunately CM Punk was beat to a pulp by Drew MacIntrye, joining Chad Gable in the afterlife. With three MITB qualifier matches and the introduction of another samoan, this was a pretty jam packed episode. Check out this and our other podcasts at Patreon.com/SNMERadio
A TCR listener has changed her mind about wanting kids and it's causing problems in her marriage, Matt's giving his wife the cheapest anniversary gift ever, Nicasio talks jealousy and how he handles it (in true Nicasio fashion), Tino talks missing an NBA star missing a playoff game for the birth of his son, and Serina speaks on facial expressions and body language in the bedroom...
Recently, I turned up to hear how a group of customer-facing "Business Development Managers" (BDM's) told the story of their business. What happened was as I expected. They immediately launched into what they do and the product/service they provide. Why do they do this? It's where they're comfortable and confident as product specialists. It's what they've always done. It's what the prospect expects! They think this is how you win business - it's not! Is that what the customer wants? Yes, but much later in the meeting when they've built a relationship with you. How should this type of business meeting start? My personal favourite is to start with a question. "In order for me to understand what are your concerns, is it OK if I ask you some questions"? This question, or a version thereof, is a great conversation opener. "Please explain to me the problem you are experiencing currently". In this part of the meeting the person opposite should be doing most of the talking, with you asking questions to understand their issue and teasing out the key concerns of the person you're talking to. Next: Once you have ascertained this person's problem that you believe you can solve, you can then move on to telling him a little about yourself and your organisation. Note: You do not tell this person everything you do; continue to focus on what you can offer to provide a solution to this particular problem.) Bring the meeting to a close: When you have done the above, recap the problem briefly, get the person to agree that your understanding is correct, and then paint a word picture of how their situation will improve as a result of your intervention. Finally, agree upon the next action: Who is doing what, and by when? E.g., send a proposal, ask them to visit a similar project you recently completed, send a sample, visit your showrooms, and discuss dates for commencement. Finally, agree on the date of when you'll next get together (before you leave the meeting). REMEMBER: The Number One failure of all meeting leaders is to agree on an action. With no action agreed, it will be like starting all over again. Drivers roll through stop signs. So why can't bike riders? The federal government says the safest way to ride a bike is to roll through the intersections when there are no cars. Its even more important for cyclists because stopping and starting take a huge amount of energy. Believe it or not, some people don't ride bikes because not stopping at intersections can get you a ticket. Now, laws are sweeping the nation to change that and right here in Nevada, we are considering similar legislation. We will talk to advocates who have passed or are working on new laws in Boston, Washington DC and Rochester. One of them, Erik Noonan of We Bike Rochester is a League of American Bicyclists Certified Advocate, and he is moving to Las Vegas where he hopes to continue his advocacy. BIKE LIFE Radio is a show on KWNK where we talk to people about their bikes and lives—presented by Ky Plaskon & the Truckee Meadows Bike Alliance. Ky has been commuting by bike to work for more than 30 years. He also worked in radio and TV for over 20 years from Alaska to San Diego, Las Vegas, Reno, and Sacramento. He wants to bring a lighter and funnier feel to bike discussions. For more information and to contribute to TMBA, go to https://bikewashoe.org/

We are back! Our first episode this fall is all about mindfulness, a buzzword we are seeing everywhere these days. Bethann and Chrissie are speaking with Jan Michener, Executive Director of Arts Holding Hands and Hearts (AHHAH), a nonprofit in Chester County that provides programs and trainings to increase resiliency and create positive pathways towards productive and fulfilling futures for youth through mindfulness tools, artistic initiatives, and professional development training for staff. Jan shares with us what “mindfulness” really is and what it means to be mindful in your daily life. We also discuss how a mindfulness practice looks different for everyone, ways to take purposeful pauses and how to practice this with your kids, and the importance of focusing not on how to do but how to be. This conversation was powerful and calming in itself. Join us! Things we mentioned during our conversation: STOP (Stop, Take 3 slow breaths, Observe inside and outside, Proceed with presence and purpose) PPP – Practice purposeful pauses AHHAH offers Good Morning Yoga on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday at 9am on Zoom for a small donation. Barry, Abigail, and special guest Jack Cornell discuss Jack's album One in Wins and sample Octopus Backyard and Hundreds of Babies from Tripping Animals Brewing Co. in Doral, Florida. Jack and his friend Terry Anderson have been musical partners for over 40 years and have collectively formed the rhythm section of The Fabulous Knobs, The Woods, and, most recently, Terry Anderson & The Olympic Ass-Kickin Team (or the O.A.K. Team). The musical genealogy of the North Carolina music scene is complex, and we do a lot of name dropping in this episode. For a more detailed explanation of the cast of characters we reference, we recommend reading The Fabulous Knobs Wikipedia page or visiting our website to read the extended edition of these show notes. Jack contributed a cover of You're So Rude by Faces to Be Good to Yourself, an album featuring original songs and performances by North Carolina artists to benefit musicians battling addiction and depression. Jack volunteers with the Novick Cardiac Alliance, a charity that provides total cardiac care to children in low- and middle-income countries. Abigail matriculated Jack into the Abigail Hummel School of Speaking Smartly About Music by comparing his song The Man to Stop Stop by The Black Keys. Jingles are by our friend Pete Coe. In this episode of Conversations with a Shaman; I ask about the acronym STOP. Stop. Think. Observe. Plan. In my opinion, this acronym and method are crucial nowadays. I know for a fact that this helps me enormously overcome anxiety, anger, and most of all fear. I ask, “Could you explain to the listener how you came about the phrase and method of STOP?” If you have a particular topic matter that you would like to hear, please send me a request at insidetheravenseye@gmail.com.
I'm excited to release today's chat with a friend who I met through my private Show.Up community last year. We haven't spoken in 2021 until today's conversation and I was just amazed and proud of the progress he (and his company) has made, it's astonishing!Today's guest is Paul McGregor from Business Lab. He's based in NZ and is a Collaboration Broker (cool phrase!), helping to transform how organisations work with their community. If you think about it, this is a stunning business value proposition because every organisation has a community - whether that's a council and its residents; A government agency and its citizens; or a business association and its members. By harnessing the power of your community, your organisation can achieve more than if you simply go it alone.Paul is also the Host of the Beyond Consultation Podcast and in this chat, he shares how he started up a podcast 12 months ago, releasing episodes every 2 weeks, and he shares that having a podcast has created hundreds of thousands of dollars in consulting work for his company - HOW GOOD!When I think of Paul, I think of progress, in today's episode you'll hear his candid story about his facilitation journey, both as someone exploring it as a career, and also how he navigates the business side of the work as well.We have similar backgrounds in how we discovered the work of a facilitator, by being in environments where strangers came together, and walked away as best of mates! He also shares his lessons learnt from being a first time facilitator, some of his facilitation failures, and shifting the expectations (being okay with giving his group the space to share, to listen, RATHER than having that urge to get in and solve, drive a solution right then and there). This conversation is brilliantly honest, and Im sure you'll learn a lot from Paul's progress as a facilitator and business partner!About today's guest: Paul McGregorPeople describe Paul as an insightful guide through complex issues. Paul hosts the Beyond Consultation Podcast, is the creator of the Engagement Canvas and the author of Virtually Productive - your guide to facilitating virtual meetings that create change outside the meeting room. His career began in public policy with the Ministry of Justice before a life-changing role with Lifehack, a systems-level initiative for supporting the wellbeing of young New Zealanders. He then co-managed the Nelson branch of Literacy Aoteroa before being drawn to the variety of Business Lab's work.Resources mentioned in this episode:Visit Business LabConnect with Paul McGregor on LinkedInListen to the Beyond Consultation PodcastShhh... I used to think that growing happened when you were in class or church and heard a great speaker. But I learned over time that God can teach us ANY time, ANY where and using ANY one. God can even use me reading a daily bible story to my 5 year old to teach me...and He has. He did this past week, actually.A simple Bible story spoke volumes to me. God spoke to me that I need to believe in His miracles and even more than that, I need to Ask Him for specific things. We don't have, because we don't ask. We need to believe that the God of yesterday, is the God of today. We need to stop rushing through life and stop and enjoy everything He has given us. When you feel that God is not answering prayer. When you feel that God isn't doing miracles today. I challenge you to stop. I challenge you to stop and actually pay attention. When you feel like God isn't doing anything for you? I challenge you to stop and think if you actually are talking to Him, asking Him, believing in Him.A simple story of Moses changed my prayers. We just need to pay more attention.Love always, AdrianneEmail adriannejtaylor@yahoo.comFind me on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/adrianne.m.taylorInstagram @adrianne_joyful

If you want to become an injury-free run monster and learn everything about doing running form drills and plyometrics for strength, power and better form - then you should listen to this DLake Creates Podcast episode. For plyometric video, links go to Instagram.com/dlakecreates ( @DLakeCreates ).I've been doing running plyometrics and form drills for almost 25 years now and I love them! I decided to create a few videos showing more runners how to do them and also wanted to explain the blockers as to why runners don't do them. Hopefully, you get inspired to become a run injury free monster! For plyometric video, links go to [Instagram.com/dlakecreates](http://instagram.com/dlakecreates) ( @DLakeCreates )Download the free full transcription pdf hereWhat You Will LearnEverything you need to know about running drills and plyometrics will increase your strength and injury resistance. Why so many runners don't do them and how to fix that.New science and information have proven that they work for short distance, long-distance and endurance runners, cyclists and triathletes. The five basic form drills that I use in my warmups, workouts, and cooldowns. The all-important - WHEN to do them, and more!Example Form Drills & Plyometric Workout (Intermediate)WORKOUT: Do these 5 form drills and 2 plyometrics workouts with 2 sets for 10 secondsREST: Rest time 20-30 seconds or more (2-3 times the amount it took you to do them. Goal isn't to do them as fast as possible but with the most amount of energy and best form).STOP: Stop the workout if you can't finish a set or your form is sufferingDURATION: The workout shouldn't go longer than 10 minutes (for intermediates - see beginner and expert variations below)BEGINNER VARIATION: Just do 1 set of each (set will be about 5 minutes)EXPERT VARIATION: Experts can add another set, make the sets longer (15-2 seconds), add more exercises (same amount 2 sets), do these single-legged, or even do these all on a hill (the steeper the hill the harder the workout). This will take the set out to 15-20 minutesEpisode Quotes"The reason most runners don't do plyometrics and form drills is that it's just another thing, it's hard, they don't know-how. I'll show you" - Daren"These are a type of neuromuscular exercises that enhance the communication between your brain or legs. so that if you get tired in a race or workout you're better able to maintain proper running form" - Jason Fitzgerald"Lifting weights is one way to build strength. Think about you, not other people.
Anthony and Kelly make their FINAL drive to arrive back at their home in Spring Lake, New Jersey. This episode is a raw breakdown of how grateful they both are for the time spent on the road the past 7 weeks!
"Many women spend more on their clothes than they do on an annual vacation, and yet put more strategy on the vacation than the closet." -Sarah Moore Sarah Moore's "3 S" Strategy - Sort, Share, Stop: SORT: First, sort clothing to keep and get rid of, then sort it so you can store it easily in your closet. Sort into Yes, No, and Maybe. Get rid of the No pile. Then makes outfits with the rest. Either get rid of the things that don't make an outfit or commit to buying the other piece(s) you need. Store clothes as outfits so you never have to wonder what you're going to wear. Sort them out and hang them up, but get rid of the ratty things or clothes you won't wear again. Sort everything into categories, like working on it daily or weekly, depending on how much time you have available. Tops, bottoms, sweaters, dresses SHARE: Share the responsibility for laundry with other family members. Let children help, even if its not perfect. Telling them not to do things when they don't do them perfectly is training them not to help. Only put away the clothes that you wear. Have the other people in your home put away their own clothes. (As long as the kids are old enough) Spouse won't help? Try trading household duties; they can do dishes and you do laundry for example. If they aren't helping around the house, check out the book, "Drop the Ball," by Tiffany Dufu. It's a great book to help create balance with home chores. STOP: Stop bringing in more clothes so your home doesn't get cluttered again. Stop spending money on things you don't need. Remember the importance of shopping with purpose. Remember - Extra clothing comes into our closet when we didn't really need it, because we bonded with our friends over the experience of shopping for clothes. Bond with your friends at a park or a museum or out to lunch. Have an experience instead of spending money on things you don't need. Stop using spending money on things as your fun, and enjoy experiences instead. Sarah's other tips: Thinking about "Sunk cost", leads to guilt and shame. If you've spent money, you feel like you need to keep the item so you feel like you haven't wasted the money. You can sell the clothes you don't wear to recoup the cost, or donate them and get a tax write off Get rid of the extra clothes you have "just in case" Get rid of those single socks A word from Sarah: "Hi, I'm Sarah Moore. I've been eliminating chaos since 1989! My left brain discovered a long time ago that it has the mind of a Lego master builder when it comes to filtering out all the busy work and time wasters of a process or project leaving only what is necessary to achieve the desired result. My right brain is a little woo and I believe that everything is energy. My left brain is OK with that because Einstein thought so too. Your thoughts are energy - they are electrical impulses traveling down neurons. Food is energy: plants fix the energy of the sun. But it's really easy to get that energy stuck. Ever had the same song playing over and over in your head all day? Exactly, Stuck energy. When you combine the two halves of my brain you get a project manager who has a laser focus on the critical path: the only bits of a project that actually need to get done to achieve the desired result. Whether that critical path is the a to z of a huge corporate project, a small entrepreneur's project or the pathway to getting dinner on the table with no fuss...I have the ability to cut through the fluff and leave only what truly matters. These days I prefer to work with overwhelmed women who have too much on their plates and piles of stuff threatening to take over their homes. I bring you discipline and simplicity to help you find balance. With a big helping of no excuses tough love too."
