Leadership isn't about perfection—it's about perseverance, transparency, and the courage to grow through brokenness. On today's episode of the AVAIL podcast, Sam Hinn, pastor of Genesis Church in Lake Mary, FL, opens up about his personal journey through failure, restoration, and rediscovering his purpose. He shares profound wisdom on why vulnerability is essential for leaders and how God's grace can transform our deepest wounds into powerful testimonies. If you've ever struggled with shame, insecurity, or the weight of leadership, this episode is for you.
On Easter Sunday, 2006, Genesis Church held its first worship service. And, so the adventure began. Genesis was planted with the vision to be a safe place for anyone from any background, story, or struggle to explore Jesus and find faith. It was our desire to be a church on mission in Eureka and for Eureka. For over 18 years this church family met in public schools, starting with Eureka High School, then Blevins Elementary, and most recently at Pacific Intermediate. The exception was in 2020 when our gatherings happened in parks, picnic pavilions, and parking lots. While there have been ups and downs, God has been so faithful and kind to us. This morning we dedicate the building—the new home for this church to the Lord. While we are thankful for the faithfulness of God for all He has done in providing this space, we also want to be reminded that the church is not a building and that our central mission has not changed. It is still our vision to be a Gospel-centered church in community and on mission to Eureka, Pacific, and beyond.

With only a couple weeks left in our series, The Recipe, on our task of making disciples, this morning we come back to where we began—with Jesus’ commission to make disciples of all nations. We believe that Christ has entrusted us, Genesis Church, with the commission to make disciples here in Eureka/Pacific and the surrounding area. We are an outpost of Christ’s Kingdom in our community with this task. But, we are also part of the task of taking the Gospel to the nations. Today we will take a look at the layers of people reached by the ministry of Jesus, from those who were far from God all the way up to the most religious, and from individuals to large crowds. Hopefully we will learn that following Jesus and obeying His commission will lead us to make disciples of all sorts of people, from those who are completely uninterested in church to those who are serving as leaders and pastors and everyone in between.

As we continue our series on Genesis Church’s recipe for making disciples, this morning we begin explaining the key ingredients … and the first and most important ingredient is Gospel clarity and fluency. Knowing and believing the Gospel is central to our journey of becoming disciples—followers of Jesus. Apart from the Gospel, religion will be centered on efforts to change our own lives by fulfilling religious duties and rules. Paul reminds us of the universal need of the Gospel, but also the beautiful truth that we are justified as a gift because of the finished work of Jesus. Disciples need foremost and consistently to be reminded of the central truth of the Gospel, and shown that their identity and acceptance before God is always based on the finished work of Jesus. In other words, they need the Gospel, as Martin Luther declared, “beat into their heads continually.” The Gospel is our one and only message as a church and it is our desire to lead our people to gain clarity and fluency in the Gospel.

Genesis Church celebrated 20 years! Lead Pastor Paul Mumaw shares a message from Acts about what real life change looks like, and how we as a church are called to help people find their way back to God.
Welcome to Genesis Church and Baptism Sunday! Today we start a 3-week series, Pillars, where we will see that God’s purpose for us has always been tied to three key pillars: the Gospel, Community, and Mission. Many of us grew up believing that the Gospel, the message about Jesus’ death and resurrection, was the ABC’s of Christianity, the first message we need to know in order to be saved—that after believing the Gospel we move on to the deeper things, right? Actually, the Gospel is the A-Z of our faith, the central message of the Bible, and the answer to every question. For the follower of Jesus, the Gospel has saved us, is saving us, and will save us. And the good news of the death, burial, and resurrection is good news that reaches every fiber of our being, every relationship, every part of our lives. The world around us cannot see the beauty of the Gospel of the glory of God. But when the Gospel transforms people, the church becomes the lens that makes the Gospel visible and the glory of God radiant. We are a people with one message—the Gospel—and we will tell it over and over.

The mission of Genesis Church is Helping People Find Their Way Back to God. This comes out of 2 Cor 5:20 - “we are Christ's ambassadors; …We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” (NLT) Everything we do at Genesis Church – from kids to students to adults - is filtered through the mission of “helping people find their way back to God.” What does this mission mean for each person at Genesis? How do we make the church's mission our personal mission?

We're back with the second episode of our Summer Camp series. This week we are joined by Joshua Bingle from Genesis Church in Spokane, WA. He challenges us about how we look at self-care and how we rest. With our new format for Summer Camp, our panel talks through this teaching, and what rest looks like in their lives.
This week, we had a powerful message in our series, "They Walked with God", given by Tim Grandstaff. He is the pastor of Genesis Church in Orlando, Florida. He walked us through the book of Jeremiah and how he doubted God's plan. Early in Jeremiah, we can see a lot of similarities to culture today. Even as believers, we sometimes tend to doubt the plans God has rather than trusting fully in it. Join our host Tyler Newsome and his wife Hannah as they dive further into the message.
It's not hard to find stories of people who have been hurt by a church and have been left disappointed, wounded, and reeling. It would be easy to throw in the towel on the Church and write it off completely. But scripture tells us that Jesus established, loved, and died for His Church. Jerry Naville shares the reasons he loves the Church, and specifically Genesis Church.
Scott interviews the Kids and Special Needs Pastor of Genesis Church, Rachel Ritter. This conversation intends to shine a spotlight on Family Ministry and all that it entails as we serve a diverse community here at Genesis Church. We pray this brings you hope and insight for your church or your individual vocational ministry.
