God's Word teaches us that all His promises are "yes" in Christ. This means that God is moving forward with good plans. No matter how difficult it might be to see His yes in our lives, we must defeat the world of no we live in. Finding God's Yes in a World of No is a stirring message of living in Christ and seeing his promises manifest no matter our circumstances. Feel free to comment during the service and with us by following us on Facebook, YouTube, or emailing connect@corechurchtampa.com.
Rev. Brian Flamme, pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Roswell, NM, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study 2 Corinthians 1:8-2:2. St. Paul informs the Corinthians of the afflictions he had experienced in Asia, which had caused him to despair of life. Yet this death sentence brought about the fruit of reliance on God, who delivered St. Paul and his coworkers. For this reason, the apostle implores the Corinthians to help by their prayers. St. Paul's travel plans had changed because of these afflictions, not because of any fickleness on his part. Instead, he wants the Corinthians to have confidence in the “Yes” that God has spoken to all of His promises in Christ Jesus “A Letter of Comfort” is a series on Sharper Iron that goes through the epistle of 2 Corinthians. St. Paul writes again to the Christians in Corinth to bring them the ongoing comfort of the Gospel in the midst of the attacks of false doctrine from so-called “super apostles.” He seeks to give confidence to the Corinthians—and to us—that the good news of Christ crucified and risen proclaimed by His called ministers will accomplish all that He intends.
The Lord has given us many promises in His Word. And those promises are for US! But, we must agree with God, and choose to believe His Word if we want to see His promises come to pass in our life. In this message, you will find out how to add your “Amen” to God's “Yes”—and, what He will do when you do this. God is faithful, and His Word is always sure; we can build our life on Him, and He will always be our solid Rock!

There are Many names for Jesus in the Bible – Saviour; Good Shepherd; Messiah; Immanuel to name a few. In the text for today's sermon St Paul talks of Jesus as ‘God's Yes'. When you think about that, it is really one of the most beautiful ways to describe Jesus, because “yes” implies action and involvement. “Yes” implies commitment, God's commitment to, and for us. Acts 1:6-14; John 17:1-11 The ascension, as it follows the birth, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus, is the triumph of God's Yes over humanity's No, to which, in the face of God's outworking in our lives, by his Spirit, in his church, through a flawed yet restored and reconciled humanity, we say ‘Amen!'

Daily Lectionary: 1 Kings 18:20-40; Ephesians 2:1-22 And Hannah prayed and said, "My heart exults in the Lord; my horn is exalted in the Lord. My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation." (1 Samuel 2:1)In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. I once heard a pastor say that God answers prayer in four ways: "Yes," "No," "Let's do it my way," "You've got to be kidding me!" Paul writes, "For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you … was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes" (2 Corinthians 1:19). God's answer to prayer is always, "Yes." It may not seem like it this side of heaven, because that "Yes" often includes "In God's time, according to God's way." Hannah had no children. She prayed to God for a son and in due time, God's "Yes" was manifest. Hannah's boy was Samuel, a great prophet and last judge in Israel. After Samuel was born, Hannah "lent him to the Lord" (1 Samuel 1:28) and sang a prayer, the opening verse of our text for today. Does it sound familiar? Hannah's song foreshadows another sung prayer we call the Magnificat, the Song of Mary in Luke 1. Both of these faithful women rejoiced in the promises of the Lord God that He would provide salvation for His people. For Hannah, it would be the life-long service of her boy child to minister to the people of God. For Mary, it would be the life-giving sacrifice of her boy child to save the world. Both of these faithful women believed the Word that God's messenger delivered to them, no matter how unlikely it seemed that that Word could be fulfilled. This, then, is what we learn from God's Word via these faithful women: What God has spoken through His Word, He will bring to fulfillment. God promised Eve that a day would come when one of her sons would crush the works of the devil. God inspired Hannah's son Samuel to prophesy that one of David's sons would sit on God's throne forever. Mary's Son was the fulfillment of these promises. Jesus is the Son of David, the Christ, by whom the ancient serpent is crushed as Jesus dies on the Cross to forgive sin, all sin, your sin. In Holy Baptism, God has declared you His child, born not of a woman, but of the Spirit. When you pray to your Father in heaven, like Hannah, He will answer you with a resounding, "Yes," according to His will. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. To Hannah, praying childless Before Your throne of grace, You gave a son and called him To serve before Your face. Grant us her perseverance; Lord, teach us how to pray And trust in Your deliv'rance When darkness hides our way. ("For All the Faithful Women" LSB 855, st.6)-Rev. Often, when a new believer is learning about following Jesus, it feels like it means following a lot of rule of "no", but as a Child of God, we live under His banner of "yes"! Hearing God is something a lot of people think is difficult to do or they think because they don't hear Him that He isn't talking to them. Hearing the Lord is something that is given, not earned-- but also learned. God doesn't withhold His voice. God does not give you the silent treatment. There might be waiting seasons, but those seasons are for deepening our relationship with our Father. Pastor Antonette is fully determined to show us that we are able to hear God! How do we hear God's yes and His no?

Pastor Pitts talks about waiting on God's "Yes."
We are declaring it YES month! It's miracle month of May. What is it that you are believing for God's YES in? We really believe that this resounding YES is a promise that you are encouraged to get strong in your spirit! And so we want to know what you're believing for. And what gets stamped with God's yes! Family? Finances? Future? What is it? We are stirring faith this month. And with the same faith, we are encouraging our church family to release a seed financially into this season as well. Not only will it strengthen what God is doing amongst us as a spiritual community, but it will also allow your faith muscle to be grown and stretched in this season.
The Gospel is good news. The Gospel is not fake news. The Gospel is truth. The Gospel is such a message of truth that there is a powerful, God-ordained word that can be attached to its message. And that word is "Amen." In Isaiah 65:16, God even called himself, "the God of truth." Literally, the God of Amen El-Amen. This is exactly what God would have all believers understand as they live and dwell in the midst of this miracle of truth God's Amen. The Apostle Paul wrote to encourage the church in Corinth that the Gospel is not "Yes" and "No." In other words, there is no doubt of God's truth. Paul went on to say that in Jesus, the Gospel has "always been 'Yes'" (2 Corinthians 1:19)! May we all learn and grow in God's "Yes" more and more. Amen. Christ tells us not to take oaths, but we read the apostle Paul taking oaths and putting other people under oaths. Is Paul contradicting Christ? What does Christ intend for us by his exhortation not to take an oath?

Gospel Reflection–Bishop Brian Mascord–The Messiah is Among You (Christmas day Reflection: Even in the darkness of our world, the light of God is still revealed and born again. Into the darkness came the announcement of joy, the glory of God revealed in humanity in all its weakness in the innocence and helplessness of an infant. It was God's “Yes” to us, so it's time to as a simple question; what is our “yes” to God at this time of Christmas? Our “yes” is to always recognise the presence of God in our midst and to respond in a way that shows this.)

What do you do when God answers your prayer with a “no”? Do you believe that God still cares about your situation? Do you still believe that he loves you? Or do you think that perhaps he just doesn't love you the way you thought? Well, that's absolutely not true at all, but we can easily kind of slide into thinking that way when we fail to trust God and to trust that his “no” to us is actually a “yes” in some ways. Tune in for encouragement with what to do when God says no.

“God's plan is the only one.”Many people like to make plans. Some people live by their daily calendars and believe that anything they write down is going to take place at the exact time and day it is scheduled. These plans may be just for the day, a future vacation, career changes, etc. The main point is that no matter what we may want to plan, things will always work out according to God's plan.I thank God for all of the many times He has shielded me from things that were not healthy for my life by saying “no!”God's YES(es) in my life are so much better than all of the things that I thought I wanted or needed.Whenever you become disappointed because you did not get something that you wanted, just remember that God knows better for you! Accept His answer and plan for your life.Prayers should not be considered as a direct line to getting our requests fulfilled.Be grateful and thank God in advance for something that you know He will provide for you according to His plan. Will you ink God into your daily life and pencil in everything else?Ephesians 5:20 NIVAlways giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.Evelyn Minton and her daughter, Dr. Billie J. Sometimes we look too much for people's approval when God already revealed to you what was for you. We seek help and support from others that God has not intended for you.. God wants to get the Glory, but he is a patient God and will wait until you take your hand off of the situation. Step back and stop trying to fix and control it.. God already figured it out.. if you Say you trust him.. you Gotta trust him all the way.. don't forget to, “take a moment, to live in the moment.. every second of every day”
