Episode 141 of the Check Your Six Podcast had an intern flavor to it this time when Sean and April brought some of the interns that they had working with Edge Consulting and the Be The Change Today Foundation into GRP Studios. It was a chance for the interns to close out their summer internship by participating in a LinkedIn workshop and creating their profile, getting headshots from Jerry Katz, getting makeup done and talking about their summer adventure as interns. Some great observations as they moved throughout Central Florida with the Seminole Chamber Councils, Longwood Commission meetings, Longwood Rotary meeting and several other aspects of small business here in Central Florida. Thanks as well to Tony Boni and the Be The Change Today Foundation for being part of this event building the future of young business individuals.

He got visited by beings from other dimensions and has devoted a large part of his life to the study and practice of nonduality. In recent years he has found several links between Bitcoin and nonduality which we dive into here. We also talk about different types of aliens and how they would organize this planet if they got the chance. In 1998, Auburn Network, Inc. launched it's signature local program, Auburn/Opelika This Morning, with the mission of being the area's unquestioned radio leader for local news, weather, information, and interviews- and the show has achieved just that. The show has been recognized by the Alabama Broadcasters' Association nine times as being the best small market radio talk show in the state. Additionally, NewsTalk WANI has been recognized as Alabama's Station of the Year on two separate occasions, the only station in the history of the state to ever accomplish that feat. The first host of Auburn/Opelika This Morning in 1998 was Jerry Katz, followed by Jerry Potter, the late Rod Bramblett, current voice of the Auburn Tigers Andy Burcham, Bob Wooddy, and Zac Blackerby. Beginning in 2022, which is the 25th year of the show, Ben Taylor became the 7th host of Auburn/Opelika This Morning. Auburn-Opelika This Morning is quite simply the most informative radio show in Lee County. The ABBY Award Winning Show airs from 6:00-9:00 weekday mornings and includes local and national news, sports, weather, local event coverage, special features, and live in-studio guests. AOTM provides the only local newscast in Lee County airing at the top-of-the-hour, following Fox News, as well as at the bottom of each hour. Auburn-Opelika This Morning also features weekly segments including the Big Screen Movie Review and the Church & Pastor Spotlight. Auburn-Opelika this Morning is where listeners know to tune to hear Auburn/Opelika's movers, shakers, and decision-makers.
This month’s daf is sponsored by Minneapolis Hadran group in memory of the father of their organizer Shira Krebs. “Shira’s father Jerry Katz, Gershon Pinya ben Yitzchak Lev haCohen z”l, loved learning and family beyond all else. He raised three daughters and a son to be dedicated to Torah learning, And his legacy lives on not only through his family, but through our Hadran Minneapolis group as well. He passed away two weeks ago, and he will be greatly missed”. Today's daf is sponsored by Ellen Golub in loving memory of Ruth Calish Weiss on her first yahrzeit. "Ruth was a pillar of strength to Israel and the Jewish people. She was an inspiration to daughter Debra (& Robert) Finkel, and grandchildren, Max, Hannah & Aliya. Today’s daf is also sponsored by Mindy and Eric Hecht and family in loving memory of Mindy’s father, Dr. Charles Feldman, Yitzchak Tzvi Ben Yaakov v’Leah, on the 10th yahrzeit, which was on the second night of Chanukah. “We miss him dearly and know that he would have loved to be part of this great learning endeavor.” Today's daf is also dedicated from myself and the Hadran Zoomers to Sharon Russ on the sudden loss of her mother on Shabbat. Our thoughts are with you. Rain on Tuesday nights and Friday nights is considered a good thing as people are generally not on the streets on those nights – why? A different version of the story of Honi the Circle Maker is brought. Another Honi story is told regarding Honi’s surprise when he saw a man planting a carob tree when the fruits will only grow after 70 years and he will not even see the fruits of his labor. Honi ends up sleeping for 70 years and awakening to seeing the grandson of the person who planted the trees enjoying the fruits. When he goes to see what happened to his family, no one recognizes him. In the Beit Midrash as well, he is unrecognizable, even though his magical powers still seem to be prevalent. He dies out of sadness. Stories are also told of Honi’s grandchildren and their role in also bringing rain. What is the difference between the strong ones of Israel and the pious ones of Babylonia? Other stories of told of Rabbi Yona and his son Rabbi Mani and the strength of their prayers.

Born on a blustery winter's eve in the city of Moscow, November 30, 1970; Gerald Katz was then known as Igor Katz. His family left for a home in the United States before little Igor was 3. The family Katz took charge of their destiny unafraid of failure and motivated to find their Mecca here in the United States. Igor became Gerald, (Thanks to dad's taking to President Ford), learned to speak Russian, English, and Spanish and he's been the master of his passions and vision ever since! Over the years his entrepreneurial projects include real estate (sold his holdings for $36M), property management, insurance (he is currently the CEO of Premier Protection Insurance which is approaching $10M in sales), hotelier, lending, motivational speaking, mentoring and he is currently the President of Entrepreneurs Organization of South Florida. And most importantly Jerry is proudest of being a father. Ilie Cioara was an enlightened mystic who did not belong to any lineage or tradition of awakening. Jerry Katz describes his writings: “This work stands independently of ancient traditions, well known sages, and the current nonduality scene. That is refreshing. Ilie Cioara's works are among the finest books on nondual consciousness.“ Like Ramana Maharshi, Krishnamurti, and Eckhart Tolle, his is a simple message of discovering our inner divine nature through the silence of the mind. His original writings in 16 books describe the experience of meditation and enlightenment, as well as the practice of “Self-knowing” using all-encompassing Attention. Born in 1916, Cioara lived his life in almost complete isolation in Eastern Europe, in a communist country, completely oblivious of nonduality, zen etc. Originally a Christian mystic, he practiced a mantra for over 20 years. One day, he felt an intuitive impulse to drop the mantra, and just practice the silence of the mind, by listening to the noises on the street, in the now. After following this practice for a few years, one morning, as he was waking up from his sleep, he suddenly experienced Enlightenment. His description of meditation is fresh and devoid of any tradition and jargon. Four books by Ilie Cioara have been published in English so far, translated by Petrica Verdes: The Silence of the Mind I Am Boundlessness The Wondrous Journey: Into the Depth of Our Being Life Is Eternal Newness Petrica Verdes (Deva Daan) is an ordinary person. No ego trip, no need to be somebody, no need to be special, no need to gather diplomas, Ph.D.'s, qualifications, trainings, no need to impress, no need to be famous or influence people. No need to go on a trip of the “ego”. Just happy living an ordinary life, because this life is already extraordinary as it is, an ongoing unfolding miracle. Sometimes he serves in humbleness as an instrument for Spirit. Not wanting to write anything or teach anyone - sometimes silence speaks through him, not knowing what the next word will be. Petrica Verdes’s website Interview recorded 1/26/2013 Video and audio below. Audio also available as a Podcast.
