The RodPod is back! Maggie and the two Jons cover issues 13 of Robots in Disguise and More Than Meets the Eye, as well as Spotlight: Megatron, as we continue our coverage of IDW: Phase 2 Transformers comics. In MTMTE 13, more meta jokes than you can shake a psychic paper at, Ultra Magnus gets drunk, and we learn a secret about Swerve, which would be the most shocking reveal of the episode if it weren't for what's coming. Spotlight: Megatron adds some context and depth to Megatron and Starscream's releationship, which we, of course, talk about in purely sexual terms. And RID 13, which has that shocking reveal I mentioned. The last few issues have had some pretty insane last page cliffhangers, but you are not going to see the end of this one coming. Also, Maggie and Jonathan talk about an incident in baseball history without providing enough context, and we respond as only we can to reader feedback. Pregnancy Blind Spot Hello, and welcome to episode 338 of The Fantasticast. Each week, Steve Lacey and Andy Leyland guide you through every issue, guest-appearance and cameo of The Fantastic Four. This week, we return to both the Marvel multiverse and Earth 772 as we take a look at how Reed Richards might fare following Sue Storm's decision to stay with Namor the Sub-Mariner. Rejecting Spider-Man, alienating Ben, faking evidence to draw the world into war, and attempted genocide - all perfectly reasonable responses that don't warrant further analysis. And joining us for that further analysis is podcaster Jon M. Wilson. Host of Make Ours Marvel, All The Pouches: An Image Comics Podcast, former host of more shows than we can mention, and the podcast who gave Steve his podcasting break, Jon joins us to complete his Fantasticast guest-hosting hat trick, a feat that has taken eight years to complete. Well, good thing come to those who wait... Follow him on twitter, where he is @jonreadscomics! Bill Mantlo, Gene Colan, Bob Wiacek, Carl Gafford, Tom Orzechowski, Denny O'Neil, Mark Gruenwald, and Jim Shooter present What If? #21 - What If... But if you're after toxic masculinity and an irrelevant Sue Storm, then this comic is the one for you! The Gentleman's Name Is... Niemeyer! Hello and welcome to the landmark milestone never-to-be-reached-again-unless-we-restart-the-numbering fiftieth episode of The Fantasticast! In case you hadn't guessed from the title, this week Steve and Andy are joined by veteran podcaster Charlie Niemeyer. Known by some as the host of Charlie's Geekcast, by others as the host of Superman In The Bronze Age, soon-to-be-known by some as one of the co-hosts on Starman Observatory, Charlie is best known for his four-second appearance in our trailer as Doctor Doom. This time around, we get to be ridiculously relevant and contemporary. Literally as I write this, Marvel are hosting a liveblog revealing the scope of the upcoming Inhumanity event. Two days, ago, Marvel released a trade paperback collecting this issue and several others, chronicling the origins of The Inhumans. And it all begins here: Issue 44 of The Fantastic Four - The Gentlemen's Name Is Gorgon. And as if this wasn't enough, the title welcomes its new regular inker, the legendary Joe Sinnott. Along the way, we discuss Jack Kirby's influence on Bruce Timm, the best Golden Age penciller, and realise that just one corpse of Jon M Wilson in our basement isn't really enough... S(&)M Studios! Stephen and Andrew are (mostly) going it alone this week, taking a look at Fantastic Four #9, which gave us the first appearance of the classic Silver Age Marvel trope, the use of a film shoot to cover the plans of a nefarious ne'er-do-well! There's fun galore as the signal flare is used and abused, as Stan and Jack cram in a bunch of celebrity cameos, as the Human Torch faces off against a fire-proof tribe, and Ben and Namor get down to business in one of the best fight scenes yet in the book. And then there's Strange Tales #103, which has some mucking around in the 5th dimension (not that one...) in a fairly forgettable story that has already slipped my memory. We're also briefly joined by Jon M. Wilson and J. David Weter of The New 52 Adventures of Superman to establish just what the heck went on with the last episode...
