Director Lana Wilson says that in “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields” she's showing how Shields found her way from “object of beauty to becoming a human being.” It's a dramatic thesis, but one that Wilson brings to life in this Emmy-nominated documentary series. After the original “Pretty Baby”, “The Blue Lagoon”, and the Jordache Jeans commercials, Brooke found herself in her 4 years of college–where she developed both intellectually and artistically– and ultimately became the comic actor we see in “Suddenly Susan”. While the series is grounded in the deep archive of film from Booke's career, some of the most telling footage is shot at her contemporary dinner table, surrounded by her two teenage daughters and her loving husband as they respectfully but seriously consider the meaning and undercurrents of her youthful work. “Pretty Baby” is available on Hulu. While the July 1988 cover goes hard for American-flag style (...and, okay, so does Sassy Club), the rest of the fashion in this issue is not overly patriotic. We're going to Arizona -- or somewhere very dry and hot -- for a swimwear spread. We're in an old-timey cottage for some undergarment looks. And then: stripes. So many stripes. We're also learning about hot-weather hair help, products from the beauty closet the Sassy staff swears by, how to look like a skateboarder (and possibly get called a poser in the process), and so much more. Stick some American-flag toothpicks in your hair -- or don't -- and join us! Visual Aids

Blast off to warp speed as your hosts John and Sebastian boldly go where... well, probably quite a few podcasts have gone before. As your brave hosts dissect this William Shatner directed entry in the seminal sci-fi series, they'll give it all she's got (Captain) to mine the gold of what many consider to be the nadir of the Star Trek film series. But with the help of Spock's half brother, Sybok, your hosts let go of their pain, and their reasons for loving the film multiply like a holodeck full of Tribbles. Will they find the face of God in the comic stylings of the Enterprise crew? Will they squirm at Uhura's "sexy" dance? And will they ever learn where Kirk finds Jordache Jeans in the year 2287? Find out as we "make it so" (er, wrong Generation) on Here's Why It's Great! #hwigfinalfrontier
