Peter (Retrogamepapa), together with Michiel (HitP Studio, Video Wizards pod) and special guest Leah Haydu (Cane & Rinse, Character Issues podcast), continue with the Castlevania games music in this second part of the Requiem of Play special. This quest is once again filled with lots of banging tunes, soothing melodies and rightout beautiful music. Here they start with a mobile game, Castlevania: Order of Shadows and go through several Nintendo DS titles, Lords of Shadow games and more, to eventually finish with Grimoire of Souls, also a mobile title, coincidentally! In the past there was a video game music podcast called Sound of Play. Episode 220 was all about Castlevania music, which you can check out here: https://caneandrinse.com/sop-castlevania-special/. Michiel Kroder and Leah Haydu went through the Castlevania games by release date, starting with picking music from the first Castlevania (1986-87) and finishing with Symphony of the Night (1997) and Castlevania Legends (1997-98). Peter (Retrogamepapa) kicks this quest off by starting with two Symphony of the Night tracks of his picking, before we travel further on. We then go through Castlevania 64, Circle of the Moon, Aria of Sorrow and all the other Castlevania titles up until Portrait of Ruin (2006). Support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/retrogamepapaMusic featured in this quest: Castlevania Order of Shadows: Resting Again (Vincent Diamante), Castlevania Judgement: Bloody Tears (arr. Yasushi Asada), Order of Ecclesia: Rhapsody of the Forsaken (Michiru Yamane), Ecclesia (Yasuhiro Ichihashi), Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth: Reincarnated Soul, Lullaby Sent to the Devil (arr. Manabu Namiki), Castlevania: The Arcade: Wicked Child, Underground (arr. Masayuki Maruyama, Gō Fujiwara), Harmony of Despair: Crimson Blood, Ruined Castle Corridor (too many credits, check this wiki-page), Lords of Shadow: Prologue, Fray in the Forest (Óscar Araujo), Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate: Succubus, Night Watchman (Óscar Araujo), Lords of Shadow 2: Menu, Return to the Castle (Óscar Araujo, Ferrán Cruixent), Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls: Grimoire of Souls title track, Nothing to Lose (Michiru Yamane).
What is a podcast? A miserable...no, marvelous pile of music! Peter (Retrogamepapa) and Michiel are joined by special guest Leah Haydu (Cane & Rinse, Character Issues podcast). This quest is all about the excellent music of the Castlevania series, starting with Symphony of the Night. Why do we start there? Because this quest is a follow up of an older, by now unfortunately dead and buried podcast. In true Dracula fashion, Retrogamepapa decided to (temporarily) resurrect this podcast with the Knights of the Retro Table, to finish the job.In the past there was a video game music podcast called Sound of Play. Episode 220 was all about Castlevania music, which you can check out here: https://caneandrinse.com/sop-castlevania-special/. Because there are so many Castlevania games, and we had so much to say about them as well as a lot of fun, this recording has been split in two parts. So basically there's in the end three Castlevania music podcast episodes, counting also the Sound of Play one. Support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/retrogamepapaMusic featured in this quest: Symphony of the Night: Requiem for the Gods (Michiru Yamane), The Cursed Prison/Chaconne C'moll (Tetsuya Osono, Junko Karashima, Kaoru Okada). Castlevania 64/Legacy of Darkness: Maze Garden A, Bloodborn (Masahiko Kimura). Castlevania Circle of the Moon: Aquarius (Castlevania III: Hidenori Maezawa, Jun Funahashi, Yukie Morimoto), Sinking Old Sanctuary (Bloodlines: Michiru Yamane), Awake (Sotaro Tojima). Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance: Offense and Defense (Soshiro Hokkai), Chapel of Dissonance (Takashi Yoshida). Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow: Floating Garden, Top Floor (Michiru Yamane). Castlevania: Lament of Innocence: House of Sacred Remains, Statue Enchanted by the Darkness (Michiru Yamane). Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow: Pitch Black Intrusion, Basement Melody (Masahiko Kimura). Castlevania: Curse of Darkness: Baljhet Mountains, Young Nobleman of Madness (Michiru Yamane), Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin: Hail from the Past (Michiru Yamane), Invitation of a Crazed Moon (Yuzo Koshiro).

Play;Write is a podcast about creating and sharing new ways to play. We workshop seedlings of ideas for video games in hopes of coming up with something timeless. It's not just about us, though! Join in the conversation! Pitch your own game ideas to be read and explored on air on our website at www.playwritecast.com, tweet us @playwritecast, or email us at playwritecast@gmail.com. In this episode of the podcast, Ryan Hamann (@InsrtCoins) and guest Leah Haydu from the Cane and Rinse podcast watch a horror anthology, go on a tennis quest, and protest police brutality. The community pitch was submitted by Jonathan Barlowe. Our theme song is "Hello World." by PROTODOME from the album BLUENOISE.

[Digital Drift 2014] It's taken over a year, but Sharon has finally completed her read through of E.L. James' Fifty Shades trilogy. This episode is a compilation of material from different shows to give you a full review series. In principle it's a two and a half hour rant on her part about this skewed, uninformed and often just plain wrongheaded view of women, men, sex, relationships, hetero-normativity, wealth, worth and abuse, both physical and psychological. In execution it's a blistering hellstorm of righteous indignation and high-pitched shrieking. You have been warned. 00.01.10: Fifty Shades of Grey (From DorkCast #5) 00.49.00: Fifty Shades Darker (From the DorkCast Fifty Shades Special) 01.25.00: Fifty Shades Freed (Digital Drift #6) You will also hear Tony Atkins of Cane and Rinse with a reading from the first book at 37.40 which was originally on The Same Coin podcast episode #11. The DorkCast episodes were produced by and hosted by Leah Haydu and you will also hear a little of Matt Ramsey. It goes without saying; very very obscene content!
[Digital Gonzo 2012] This is the second of three shows discussing Firefly and Serenity. This episode we look at the troubled production run and the myriad decisions made that hamstrung this potentially glorious series and ensured nobody saw it, that those that did were somewhat confused and that only a few would even notice its cancellation. Those few have grown in number in the years since with more Browncoats riding in every passing month, discovering the world and the mindset of those who love it. My crew of Big Damned Heroes return. Leah Haydu and Sharon Shaw of DorkCast, Matt Ramsey of DorkCast and Dorktunes, Gary Blower of GameBurst and Joshua Garrity of Cane and Rinse join me on the good ship Digital Gonzo. We cover the concluding seven episodes... * Out of Gas * Arial * War Stories * Trash * The Message * Heart of Gold * Objects in Space Next week, we dive into Serenity, the film that shouldn't, by all rights have even been made, yet exists as a closer for now on our beloved Verse.
[Digital Gonzo 2012] After many months of teasing Gonzo finally covers one of the most beloved Sci Fi shows of all time. If you're one of the people that saw this when it was originally aired then please let the other six know because they will probably adore this episode. Cut off some way before its prime, this exists as a cautionary tale never to trust a Fox but also as a wistful glimpse of what might have been one of the (empirically speaking) best TV shows of all time. Fourteen episodes, broadcast completely out of order with the beginning at the end and three left unaired, followed up by a cinematic outing that made one bag of popcorn less than its budget, Firefly is the perennial underdog. Perhaps this is why Browncoats, the die hard fans have one thing in common; the passionate, romantic inability to look facts in the face and accept defeat. On the show; six Browncoats. Leah Haydu and Sharon Shaw of DorkCast, Matt Ramsey of DorkCast and Dorktunes, Gary Blower of GameBurst and Joshua Garrity of Cane and Rinse. I of course stride around barking out orders in my tight pants, all gussied up with airs and graces as captain of this particular boat. On this episode we focus on the nine characters of the crew of Serenity and cover the following seven episodes... * The Pilot * The Train Job * Bushwacked * Shindig * Safe * Our Mrs Reynolds * Jaynestown Next week, the concluding seven along with a focus on the troubled production and the legacy that this has left for those who will never quit believing that you can't stop the signal.
Hey all. You know us. We love writing show notes. However, this morning, our esteemed podcast producer had her purse stolen and is now spending all her spare moments calling credit card companies to cancel accounts. So, yeah. Time isn't something we have to post notes. However, we do have the podcast. In this final episode of Leah Haydu being a GameHounds staffer, enjoy a nice relaxed podcast. In addition, we will be dark next week. Like we said, every spare moment replacing all that has been lost.
It's Monday, Monday. It's better than Friday, Friday... Okay, enough of that. Here's this week's episode of GameHounds Podcast, unfortuntately without Holy Goalie. Fear not, GameHoundians: Edie Sellers, Leah Haydu, and Nick Dinicola muscle through a Goalie-free week of news and information. This week's topics include: Double Fine Studios will get publishing rights for Psychonauts from Majesco. Go, Tim Schaffer, you magificient son-of-a-bitch. EA Sports will open its own branded store in Charlotte, NC. More hacking this week. It's the new black, we hear. THQ shutters Kaos, developer of Homefront. Wii U will not have DVD or Blue-Ray capabilities. Sony considering making your UMDs work with PS Vita. Duke Nukem Forever rep loses his job when he threatens journos over the game's bad reviews. A big — albeit sad — announcement from our own Leah. Enjoy.
We've mostly recovered from the news torrent called E3. Mostly. Still, there was so much to talk about. In this first full episode with all four of our hosts together, we got to review once again the big news of E3 — what we liked, what we hated, and what simply confused us. This episode is simply put in four parts: Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and games. Edie Sellers, Leah Haydu, Nick Dinicola, and Holy Goalie offer their opinions. Enjoy.
You thought we were busy yesterday, you should see us today. Twice as much keynotes, twice as many guests, same length, more or less. We actually managed to — yet again — be fraught with technical issues and — yet again — we managed to overcome them to put a show together. We hit the highs and lows of the Sony and Nintendo press conferences with Edie Sellers, Nick Dinicola, Leah Haydu, and visiting guests Alex Shaw of the Digital Cowboys and Jerome McIntosh of not the Digital Cowboys, but somewhere over in Old Timey Land nonetheless. Check it out. Now we need a nap.
Oh, it was hackarific this week. Everything was hacked. You'd think it was practically a Hackpocalyse... Oh, maybe that was a bad choice of words. But despite the veritable Judgement Day of pirates and cyber ne'er-do-wells, Holy Goalie, Nick Dinicola, Leah Haydu, and Edie Sellers managed to keep themselves raptured by the gaming news. And a few reviews. Topic include: LA Noire OMG! The Playstation Network is up! No, wait, . Well, when it finally is up, here's . And even if it does come up, . Sony isn't the . LA Noire is on your friends list. Paypal is . First Brink . Valve is Mass Effect 3 to have Angry Birds hits . This week in Norway is ! Enjoy.
Oh, hello. Didn't expect to see you there. Sooo, yes. You're here for the podcast, I expect. Good for that. And you. Of course, you. Wouldn't want to forget, ehm, you. Good to meet you. I'm Wheatly. I'm here to make sure you get your podcast, and might I say, I'm very good at it. Where did I come from? Oh, that's easy. Sony. Yes, Sony made me to oversee that whole issue with its system being hacked. But don't worry, I'm on the case and I am 100 percent sure you'll be completely satisfied with the way I've handled it. Absolutely sure. Well, mostly sure. But nevermind that. More pressing issues at hand. Like, ummm, your podcast. This week, Holy Goalie, Leah Haydu, Nick Dinicola and Edie Sellers are talking about... well, about me! And other things, like: Hulu Plus Smuggle Truck . Pussies. Portal 2 DLC . And someone got the mass e Mass Effect 3 , and EA says they're working on changes to the game. Wii is getting a price cut and a bundle change. Sony continues to flail about like a gutted chicken over its server breach. And the wolves... er, lawyers... are smelling the blood. In other Sony news: Welcome back! You get a month of Playstation Plus. That makes us even, right? Enjoy. But of course you'll enjoy. I'm 100 percent sure you'll enjoy at least 50 percent of it.
Welcome, GameHounders. It's another week, and it's another podcast from your GameHounds staff. This week, Holy Goalie, Nick Dinicola, Leah Haydu, and Edie Sellers wrap up the week in gaming news. Topics include: The World Bank says that because it's a viable way to bring cash to developing countries. Battlefield 3 won't on consoles. in Bioshock Infinite. Jack Trenton says . Enjoy.
If you're a fan of Edie Sellers, this is not your episode. Edie is suspiciously abscent this episode. Where is she? Plotting the domination of the world? Cornering the market in link sausage? Or — more likely — face down in a tub of Chunky Monkey while trying to get in Alaister's pants for the twelfth time. Well, no matter where she is, Holy Goalie, Nick Dinicola, and Leah Haydu aren't afraid to carry on with the news and commentary. And without Edie around, they can talk about her behind her back. Enjoy.
Now that we have Leah Haydu on staff, let's face it: The conversation will eventually turn to boobs and butts. Oh yes it will. And we don't fail to impress at our fascination with virutally created Japanese lady-parts — or with the rest of the games out there. This week Leah, Edie Sellers, Holy Goalie, and Nick Dinicola, chat up a bunch of games they've played and news from around the gaming universe, incuding: Serious Sam Neir Dragon Age 2 Load We Dare and the ESRB's hypocracy compared to the Dead Island logo. Netflix seeks rights to air remake of BCC series House of Cards before it appears on network television. PAX venue to expand in Boston, and PAX East attendance beats all previous numbers. We heart Norway. Enjoy.
It's the big, fat wrap-up show of PAX East 2011. And it's in our pants. This week Holy Goalie, Edie Sellers, and Nick Dinicola are joined by our very own Leah Haydu, by popular demand. We talk about what we saw at PAX East last week in Boston, what went wrong, what went right, and what games were there. If you've ever considered going to either PAX, this is a show you don't want to miss. Topics include: Tens of thousands of nerds descend on Boston and the city freaks out. Goalie's review of Homefront. Leah's review of Splatterhouse. Nick and Edie's review of Dragon Age 2. THQ's stock price drops after the release of Homefront. And there was much rejoicing.
Chris sits down with the staff of Gamehounds to talk about PAX East 2011. Joining him are Edie Sellers, Nick Dinicola, Leah Haydu.
[Digital Gonzo 2012] Director of two of the Resident Evil movies and producer of the rest, Paul WS Anderson helmed the first PG-13 foray for these licenses, combining them into one family-friendly Jurassic Park-style romp. They find ALIENS and then PREDATORs show up. The humans go squish and the creatures fight. It's a right palava. Josh Garrity of Cane and Rinse, Leah Haydu of GamerDork, Sharon Shaw of Gonzo Planet, James Perkins of Geek Wad and Matt Ramsey of DorkTunes are now joined by Neil Taylor of GameBurst as I bring this intrepid group of explorers closer to the ignoble end of one franchise that only ever needed to be two movies and another that maybe didn't even need that many. Find out what happened thousands of years ago, hear the deep-sea sequel idea conceived and marvel at the inappropriate attempted vocal characterization of the PREDATORS. 53m: This was the last ALIEN film produced leaving the once acclaimed series in the gutter of creature features filled with and made by talentless nobodies. The lack of gore in the Paul WS Anderson original caused the pendulum to swing back violently, the result being that this film is ONLY about the blood and guts. Its dingy, nasty, grotty, witless, artless garbage, unfit for the term “film” and the seven assembled reviewers get their critical teeth in with savage acuity. The PREDATOR series fared better after this as the 2010 film PREDATORS was deliberately set apart from these crossovers and pitched itself as a follow-up to the 1987 original. As the spiritual equivalent of Cameron's ALIENS it gave hope for continuation of that series. With Scott's plans for the PROMETHEUS story skewing further away from the Alien franchise it could be a while before we see them emerge, dripping from the shadows once again.
