What happens when life transitions occur and what was working, suddenly stops working?  What if you ask yourself, even though I am good at this work or career, do I really enjoy doing it? These are a few of the types of questions that Lisa Mallis has asked herself and her clients on her own journey from being a high school math teacher to a coach focused on time management. Lisa shares her insights on how she helps empower business owners and parents to create a life where you focus on the most important tasks every day, leverage your time, and work less. A concept rooted in the expression, learn how to work smarter, not harder. Please enjoy my conversation with Lisa Mallis. It was great talking to Lisa Mallis again on the show. She brings a lifetime of experience, practical knowledge and strategies to help everyone get more life (not just work) out of each day. Our conversation begins with reviewing Lisa’s unique background, and it’s an interesting story. Originally, Lisa was a classroom math teacher who loved students and teaching. Eventually, she moved on to become a school administrator and eventually an athletic director. During this time, she started Impactive Strategies as a side business and quickly realized she was an entrepreneur at heart. Lisa was and always has been an exceptional educator, but she came to the realization that “Just because you’re good at something doesn’t mean that’s what you’re meant to do.” Lisa began tutoring college students, a job that led her to become an organizer and develop many of the strategies she still uses today. It was during this time she began to realize that she wanted to be a professional organizer, not of physical space but an organizer of time. Inspired by her experiences, Lisa then began to apply what she had discovered through experience to expand and improve Impactive Strategies. Our conversation moved on from her story to the structure of what she teaches now through capacity coaching. We discussed techniques like the 168-Hour Exercise (examining your hours in a week and how you spend them), how you want to spend your time, and setting a date to accomplish what you need to do. From there, we move on to Biological Primetime (with ideas from When by Daniel Pink) and how to leverage your mind-body connections to get more done each day. We wrapped up with a profile of Lisa’s ideal client (Maybe you?), and discussed how Impactive Strategies evaluates the effectiveness of your plan for your time and your life. If you enjoyed today’s episode and would like the opportunity to hear her in person, Lisa Mallis is scheduled to speak at the NAWBO conference hosted by Mike Michalowicz in Cleveland, September 2020. Distractions are a very real problem for a lot of people that can completely upend productivity. In addition to getting in the way of work, distractions are just frustrating. In the second episode, Gabe is joined by Lisa Mallis of Impactive Strategies. Lisa works to coach clients to break through the barriers that hold them back from achieving success in their business endeavors. Putting A.W.E. to Work for You Everyone is different, so the issues that distract one person may not sidetrack someone else. In the same regard, the solutions to distractions need to be custom in order to be effective. A simple acronym can help in the battle against distractions is A.W.E., which stands for Awareness, Work and Evaluation. Awareness In order to solve the problem, you need to identify the problem. Figure out what distracts you, and be open to the possibilities. Be mindful that distractions can come in all forms. Even minor interruptions can throw you off course. Keep a list to identify distractions.   Work Create a solution for each distraction. The answer has to be easy to implement in order to be effective. Implement an easy structure to address your distractions. For instance, if notifications on your phone distract you then disable those notifications. Permanently disabling notifications may not be feasible, but establishing a time each day to temporarily disable notifications will give you time to focus without distractions. Evaluation An effective solution needs to solve the problem of distraction, but it needs to not cause additional problems. After you implement a solution to stop your day from being derailed by distractions, then take the time to evaluate the solution. Make sure your solution did not create a new problem.     Learn More Connect with Lisa on Facebook or via email at lisa@impactivestrategies.com. You’re so busy that you hardly know which end is up! There are so many tasks that must be done, and they have to be done right. It’s concerning to think about having anyone else take care of the stack of work that has to be done because they might mess it up. So you do it yourself and you don’t have time for much else except work. It doesn’t have to be that way. You can delegate to others intelligently the things they can do well and oversee the work effectively. You can spend your time doing the things only you can do…things that move your business forward faster and more profitably. My special guest on this episode is time/task management genius Lisa Crilley Mallis. Lisa is my coach and some of the most important lessons she’s taught me is how to delegate professionally and effectively. What you’ll hear on this show is: • The importance of delegation in your business • How to delegate intelligently • How to effectively follow up and manage your delegations • And MUCH more! Join me as I pick the brain of this brilliant coach and learn a ton about delegation! Lisa’s website is impactivestrategies.com

Todays guest entrepreneur chatting to us on the Steve Jobs inspired business podcast Join Up Dots is a lady that states on her about page before anything else that she has a love for chocolate. She also loves country music too. So I bet a perfect night in is a bubble bath, a box of chockies and a cd full of stories of divorce, dead dogs, and other depressing stories sung with a twang. But that isn't what this show is going to be about, as todays guest has a fascinating title which I don't understand. She calls herself a "time strategy visionary" which we will of course find out about during the show. But what is true about her is that she knew in her heart of hearts that shat she didn't fit  into a traditional job, as the love of the tasks she was asked to do was quite often restricted. She loved what she was doing, but not the pressure that came with doing it in a certain time. Why should we compress something into a set time fame, just because someone somewhere says that we have to. But that doesn't mean that she isn't organised, as she loves schedules, hectic days, and sports and so became an Athletic Administrator for a high school. However, she found that she struggled to balance the 60 hour work weeks with her need for self-care and family time. And that is where she started to realize her path, and brings her onto the show today She believes the “I'm so busy” feeling doesn't have to be a way of life.  She is a master at cutting to the heart of overwhelm to help you regain control of your schedule and experience life. She became a time strategy visionary. So why is it that we all like to use the "I'm ssoooo busy, and rushed off my feet" badge of honour, even if it goes against our health? And why do we focus our energies so much on the things that wont ultimately bring us closer to the finishing line? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only super entrepreneur herself Lisa Mallis   Dream Jobs, Online Courses, Persistence, Personal Trainer, Decision Making, Publicity, Young Entrepreneur, Freedom, Addicted, Shawn Stevenson, American Hustle, Make Money Online, Motivational Quotes, Expedition, Challenges, Steve Jobs, How To Start A Business, The Secret, Rich, Online Marketing, Time Management, Blogger, Videos, Recruiting, Authentic, Travel Blogs, Ultra Running, American Football, How To Make Money, Online Business, Company Culture, Law Of Attraction, Planet Money, Jobs, Video Marketing, Linkedin, Success Principles, Digital Marketing, Action Taking, Starting A Business, Successful Entrepreneurs, Personal Branding, Amazon, Lead Generation, Career Change, Life Planner, Comfort zone, Simplicity, Break The Rules, Book Launches, Personal Finance, Secret To Success, Business Plan, Health And Fitness, Tech Startup, Self Publishing, Entrepreneurs, Love, Career Path, Educational, Creativity, Selling, motivation, motivational, inspiration, confidence, success, freedom
