What happens when you allow a person with too much theatre kid energy to make their passion project? Turns out you get this mess of a movie. We love Bradley Cooper, we love Carey Mulligan, and we love Leonard Bernstein, but we did not love this movie. Pirate Cove: An Insider's Account of the Infamous Southport Lane Scandal by Richard D. Bailey https://amzn.to/3w8C4U0 In Pirate Cove, Richard D. Bailey provides an insider's chronicle of a white-collar crime whose headline-grabbing elements first appeared on the front pages of The Wall Street Journal. It's the true, unvarnished, complete, previously untold, and fascinating story of how one honest man helped unravel the massive Southport Lane fraud perpetrated by the author's former employer, 26-year-old, self-proclaimed financial prodigy Alexander Chatfield Burns. A really smart friend of the author once asked Burns how he got control of four state-regulated insurance companies. With a Cheshire cat grin, Burns cryptically responded, “Jesus with a telescope on Mars couldn't figure out how I did this.” But the author eventually did. If (and when) Pirate Cove is made into a movie, it'll stand right alongside such successful dramedies as American Hustle, Can You Ever Forgive Me, Bad Education, White Collar Crime, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Michael Clayton. Richard D. Bailey is the author of Pirate Cove, released by Bancroft Press in November 2023. For over 30 years, he has been providing interim and long-term management, and corporate development services to distressed public and private manufacturing, service, and distribution companies. In 2013, Bailey was hired by Southport Lane Management (“Southport”), a New York-based private equity firm. Shortly after he was hired, he noticed unusual cash transfers by and between multiple Southport-owned and -controlled LLC's. Upon further investigation, Mr. Bailey uncovered critical evidence of what would turn out to be a $350 million fraud. He then worked closely with FBI investigators for several years. This resulted in four indictments and four guilty pleas. Three of the perpetrators served prison time. In late October 2021, Alexander Chatfield Burns, the leader of the fraud, committed suicide prior to being sentenced. As a result, with millions unaccounted for, in the eyes of the law he died an innocent man. His book, Pirate Cove is the true story of a fake Caravaggio, a bogus Yale degree, a 26 year old self-proclaimed genius, and the unraveling of a $350 million fraud. He holds a BA from Providence College and an MA from Fairfield University.

Paul Shatzkin joins us for a great chat about his two books "The Boy Who Invented Television - A Story of Inspiration, Persistence and Quiet Passion", and "The Man Who Mastered Gravity - A Twisted Tale of Space, Time and The Mysteries In Between". A fascinating journey from their births around 1905/06 right when Enstein shocked the world and deleted 'Ether', these two inventors grew up and might have played a role in early UFOLOGY / Flying Saucers and a break away civilization. We chat about the anomalous effect that Brown discovered as a teen and the sketch of a TV that Farnsworth did as a teen. Is synthetic gravity possible? Nuclear fusion back then? We also get into Weinstein on JRE, the Beifield-Brown effect, MIB realm, time travel, tethered saucers, NRO, the star in a jar, and some of Malcolm Bendall's work. In the second half we get into the USS Eldrige, all the pop culture nods to Brown and Farnsworth - Fringe, Futurama, Back to the Future, American Hustle and Projekt Saucer. Did the Philadelphia Experiment actually happen? What is Paul's pet theory? What about Oppenheimer? What was the Caroline Group, how long were they around for and are they still? Is there a higher intelligence in the Universe? What happened to Brown at Pearl Harbour? Did Farnsworth's 'fusion device' power Brown's Saucer. Why would he move to Laurel Canyon and then Catalina Island? Coincidence... that that island is one of the hottest UFO spots? We also get into Simulation, quantum mechanics, the medium is the message, the device, the ether and David Grusch. Are people making stars in the jars now? Paul Schatzkin has been described variously as a visionary, gadfly, serial entrepreneur, Internet pioneer, staunch McLuhanist, author, occasional bomb-thrower, guitarist and songwriter. He was born in New York City and raised in Springsteen Country (Monmouth County, NJ) He has spent the first two decades of twenty-first century researching and writing these two biographies of obscure scientists from the twentieth. ttbrown.com farnovision.com https://www.incorrigiblearts.com/ fusor.net See links to stuff we chatted about: https://www.howtube.com/series/BdlpJhzi Malcolm Bendall's work https://www.strikefoundation.earth/ Bendall's website https://www.jrepodcast.com/episode/joe-rogan-experience-1945-eric-weinstein/ https://www.reddit.com/r/disclosure/comments/16fjvf5/ufo_whistleblower_dave_grusch_tells_me_everything/ https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/22198 The Hunt for Zero Point https://adultbrain.ca/the-flying-saucers-are-real-by-donald-keyoe/ To gain access to the second half of show and our Plus feed for audio and podcast please clink the link http://www.grimericaoutlawed.ca/support. There are so many parts to us and writing this book is a big part of me. But there's a lot more to do and it makes me excited about life and getting out of bed every morning. -Christy Cashman Christy Cashman is an actress who has appeared in more than twenty movies including American Hustle, Joy, Ted 2, and Kettle of Fish. She's written two children's books, has her own production company, and is the founder of a teenage writing mentorship program called YouthINK www.christycashman.com. The wife of Boston developer Jay Cashman, Christy is the mother of two sons. The family splits their time between three homes including a castle in Ireland. Fresh from her book tour with galpal Jane Seymour, Christy arrived ready to share the inspiration for The Truth About Horses including her complex characters, the creative process, and the stories of her life. Written in a gazebo at her home on Cape Cod, The Truth About Horses is a brilliantly crafted tale about a 14-year-old girl obsessed with horses and emotionally crushed by the death of her mother. Published by SPARKPRESS, the book is being celebrated worldwide for its unique relatability, whether you are a horse enthusiast or not. The 9th of 10 children, Christy spent the first seven years of her life on a poultry farm in Novelty, Ohio, and then moved to the mountains of North Carolina where horses became the focus of her life. In this interview, Christy describes her own mother and older sisters as her role models, sharing through tears “Ever since my Mom died, I have always felt like I was meeting special people she was sending my way.” Her mother's wisdom about accomplishment is reflected in one of the most poignant moments of the book. “Oncedrams are reached, they are meant to turn to dust giving you a chance to dream again.” For a deep dive into the soul of an exceptional woman who can write, act, produce, and mentor the next generation, just hit that download button. #actress#novelist #thetruthabouthorses
