The Superhero Show Show #468The Devil Dinosaur is in the DetailsIt's time for Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, plus...Dick Tracy!?!...on an all-new Superhero Show Show!On an all-new, all-different episode of The Superhero Show Show, Cassie and the Boyz are taking some time off from the final season of The Flash to check out Disney Plus' new all-ages animated show Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur! They usually let other podcasts - hosted by children - take the all-ages show, but it's a slow time of the year, and who doesn't love Luna Lafayette? They watch the first episode, and discuss this new(er) character, her bright red sidekick, and her other, much smaller sidekick, Casey. Are the Taste Buds really too old for a show like this? Or too young? They discuss the animation style, which is obviously striking, and different than the shows they grew up with, but does it work? And the big question: will Moon Girl continue to get coverage on the show, or will it go the way of Batwheels, a show that some of them liked, but ultimately ignored? Tune in to find out! Then, The Flash gets a little bit of attention, as Team Flash tries to figure out what to do with Caitlin-lookalike Snow. And if that wasn't enough, the Taste Buds do the world the tedious honor of checking out Warren Beatty's latest attempt to hold on to the rights to Dick Tracy, with the new AMC special Tracy Zooms In. Will they regret this decision? Yes. Yes they will. You don't even have to tune in to figure that part out. Now, my co-host Chaterick Geepeetee will come on to give their interpretation of this episode."The Superhero Show Show" is a podcast that focuses on reviewing and discussing television shows based on comic book superheroes. Announced back in December, Armor Wars will adapt the popular Marvel Comics story with a twist: Iron Man won't be part of it. Instead, the series will explore the Armored Avenger's best friend and sidekick.   "Well, I think that the most exciting part is yet to come," Cheadle said. "I think we don't really have a super-strong idea of who he is really outside of that, sort of, bubble of the Avengers. Out of necessarily his friendship with Tony. And now he's going to kind of be untethered from all of that. So it's an opportunity to really discover who he is in a way that we have not had before; with concentrated time and focus on Rhodey and Rhodey's journey, and with, hopefully, some stuff about his past. And teeing up some things about his potential future. Who knows how long this Marvel thing goes. It seems kinda unending. We might all die on set one day."   "What's most exciting is yet to come, and I think those kinds of things were hinted at in Endgame, you know, where this character might go, and things that may be in the offing for him," Cheadle continued. "It's very early in the process of Armor Wars. We just hired my boy Yassir [Lester], which I'm very excited about, [he] wrote on Black Monday. [I've] become really good friends with him and close with him. Great guy. A lot of great ideas. But honestly, we're just really trying to crack the spine of what it's going to be and chop it up. I couldn't really give you the answers if you asked them because we're super in the clay mode right now."   [19:17] Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur https://www.marvel.com/articles/tv-shows/disney-channel-moon-girl-devil-dinosaur-cast https://twitter.com/DisneyTVANews/status/1447981238577422345   We previously revealed that the Disney Channel announced Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur animated series at D23 2019. We're now excited to share that they've found their cast! Actress and singer Diamond White will star as Lunella Lafayette (aka Moon Girl) in the channel's highly anticipated animated series, slated to premiere in 2022. But that's not all; also joining the lead cast are: Alfre Woodard (Marvel's Luke Cage) as Lunella's grandmother, Mimi Libe Barer as Lunella's best friend and manager, Casey Sasheer Zamata as Lunella's mom, Adria Jermaine Fowler as Lunella's dad, James Jr. Fred Tatasciore (Marvel's Avengers Assemble) as the one-and-only Devil Dinosaur Gary Anthony Williams as Lunella's grandfather, Pops. Series executive producer Laurence Fishburne (Ant-Man and The Wasp) will voice the recurring role of The Beyonder, a curious and mischievous trickster.   [25:08] RUMOR: Shang-Chi Spinoff Series Centered on Xialing's Ten Rings in Development https://www.cbr.com/rumor-shang-chi-spinoff-in-development/ https://thedirect.com/article/marvel-shang-chi-disney-plus-spin-off-ten-rings-sister-rumors Source 1: While most Marvel Cinematic Universe fans expected to see Xialing and the Ten Rings in a Shang-Chi sequel, a new report suggests there are other plans in store. Scooper Daniel Richtman, also known as DanielRPK, seemingly revealed that a Ten Rings series is in development at Disney+ with Zhang's Xialing as the series lead.   Source 2: Daniel Richtman , a reliable scooper, shared on his Patreon that a spinoff featuring the Ten Rings organization from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is in development over at Marvel Studios. Richtman also revealed that Meng'er Zhang's Xialing would serve as the lead character for the planned spinoff series, which, if officially greenlit, would stream on Disney+.   [28:23] What If...? It will be one of the first projects by the recently launched Marvel Studios Animation and will star see Seth Green reprise his role as the title character. Additionally, Disney is set to officially reveal the show at their Disney+ Day event on Nov. 12 and it is due to release in 2024. The gang gathers to discuss the week's comics, including the new Batgirl series, a return to Wonder Woman's Lies arc, upcoming comic Belzebubs, and Civil War II and it's impact on Captain Marvel and Ms Marvel. The status of Lunella Lafayette as the smartest person in the Marvel Universe is brought up, and we give our stamp of approval on Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. We answer questions regarding the "perfect" comic we've read as well as the characters that are important to the advancement of women, POCs, and LGBTQ characters (hint: many of them are in the Marvel Universe). The Comic Book Podcast is brought to you by Talking Comics (www.talkingcomicbooks.com) The podcast is hosted by Dr. Mara Wood, Steve Seigh (JoBlo.com contributor), Bob Reyer, and Joey Braccino who weekly dissect everything comics-related, from breaking news to new releases. Our Twitter handle is @TalkingComics and you can email us at podcast@talkingcomicbooks.com.
