It's just Kevin and Lauren this week and they manage to keep it pretty tight with some Squid Game talk, Call me Izzy, Smoke, Baby Girl, and Ironheart. They open the show by discussing the first half of the new season, as Lauren has watched 4 of the episodes and Kevin has only watched 3. The review is definitely favorable and the two make their predictions about the finale, both with differing ides about where it could end up! Next up, Lauren takes us to Broadway with Call Me Izzy. It's a one owman show starring the always incredible Jean Smart. It tackles the tough topic of abuse and is delivered wonderfully in a way that only Jean Smart can do. If you're in the New York area and aren't looking for the most uplifting story, this one is worth catching. Kevin takes us back to the small screen with Smoke, the new series on Apple TV+. It follows 2 arson investigators, played by Taron Eggerton and Jurnee Smollett. They are tracking 2 separate arsonists while dealing with their own issues on the home front. Only the tow episodes have aired so far but it seems to be an excellent investigative series and has a great twist at the end of the second episode.  Continuing the recent trend of "we watched it so you don't have to," Lauren watched Babygirl starring Nicole Kidman. It's the tale of a highly successful business woman seduced by a younger man and the messiness that ensues. All in all, it doesn't do much to reinvent the wheel and leaves a lot to be desired, even in the genre of steamy romance. Kevin closes out the show with a review of the first 3 episodes of Ironheart on Disney+. The story of Riri Williams is carried over after Black Panther 2 and is surprisingly very solid so far. This is a character that Kevin did not enjoy in her previous appearance, but he's been impressed with the work done in this outing and he's enjoying it so far, even going as far as calling it one of the better Marvel shows.  As always, thank you for watching. On today's episode  I start off talking about my weekly adventures in the real world. I speak about the forth of July weekend and almost giving my coworker a heart attack on our departure into the weekend. But before that I was doing an open mic and possibly met my future wife. I made fun of her and her culture while bombing on stage technically embracing her culture some might say. From there i get into an argument with an influencer hating on others likes, which i highly dislike.ONE IN A MILLION - SANCHEZDIPSET ANSWER - THE DIPLOMATS(00:00 - 22:25)I have a new not so new segment which is about movie reviews and spoilers. This week i speak about   “ MEGAN 2.0  ”  and it was different  from the original. They made a total genre jump, from one to another. They seem to be going down the John Wick route which they seem like they want to franchise. It does get cheesy, but it is definitely worth a watch but i would wait for streaming. (22:26 - 30:40)I then jump into The Cool Report  where  I discuss the Diddy results so far and i must say I was right, He was found not guilty on Rico and trafficking. This is definitely a huge change of events since that decision was made. We are now wondering what's gonna be his next move after this because he still a dirty dirty man, but people may forgive him. From there we take it to Queens and talk about a diving school that was giving immigrants license that didn't know the basics of driving. Another story is that a man from Florida was deported as soon as he saved a life as the headlines would tell us but that was not the case a man was deported after the fact while he was driving illegally.(30:41 - 58:41)We then step into a segment where the listeners ask me 3 questions about myself or just randomness. A character brings up the latest marvel controversy about Riri Williams and considering her comments she made of Tony Starks. People were up in arms and making it racial as well. But i think it was the writers making poor decisions and people not recognizing she's young. Another character tries to take a shot at me about not having as many friends as them. I think they were trying to rub it in. We than speak about embarrassment rituals and I have no clue what they're until the Diddy trial ended. Still do not understand it but i take a stab at it.(58:42 - 01:12:17)Then we have 2 fans ask us a questions for PTL where we get asked the tough questions where we place ourselves in their shoes. Like how can we tell if this man's girlfriend is being racist or considerate. One move that didn't seem to be too crazy is being seen just as that, i think they're tripping, but you tell me. Another lover wants to get out of the 4th of July festivities because they do not like the vibes…  not of America but the people around them, they don't have a high social battery and i get it.(01:12:18 - 01:20:12)THE FINi give thank to everyone that shows us love and wish y'all the best on the journey called life.(01:20:13 - 01:22:31)please continue to like, share, comment and subscribe.PEACE OUT!!!! For questions to be answered on Part time lover please email @nospecialcharacterspod@gmail.comTIME CODEINTRO/ WHAT'S NEW - 00:00MOVIE REVIEW - 22:26THE COOL REPORT - 30:41ASK ME A QUESTION - 58:42PART TIME LOVER - 01:12:18OUTRO - 01:20:13

There’s some interesting themes brewing under the sufrace here, some highs and lows, and we’re prompted to ask the question—is Han Solo a weenie? Dan Moren, John Moltz and Guy English.

Marvel's latest Disney+ series 'Ironheart' zoomed onto TV screens without much fanfare. But did that reflect a low level of confidence in the 6-episode series or an overcrowded media landscape? After spinning off from 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' and Marvel's Iron Man books, does the character have what it takes to stand on her own? Ian Kerner joins me to discuss all six episodes (so SPOILERS!), what they introduce to the MCU, where we'll see Riri Williams and her supporting cast again, and more! Introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as an upstart MIT tech wiz, Riri Williams has since returned to her old Chicago stomping grounds. In Ironheart's first three episodes, Riri joined up with Parker Robbins, aka the Hood (Anthony Ramos), whose crew of vigilantes steal from the city's tech titans to serve their own plans. Riri used the cash from their latest heist to upgrade her suit, and accidentally created an AI companion based on her deceased friend, Natalie (Lyric Ross), in the process.Riri also struck a tentative partnership with Zeke (Alden Ehrenreich), the son of Iron Man villain Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges), but when her latest heist ended in a shocking casualty, Riri found her world crashing down around her. The final three episodes will follow Riri as she turns to magic to deal with the fallout.Hosted by Ausha. See ausha.co/privacy-policy for more information.

Episode Summary: In this episode of Challenge Accepted, Frank and Thomas break down the final three episodes of Ironheart, diving into how the show blends tech with magic, explores grief and mental health, and reintroduces Mephisto in a big way. From chaotic battles to powerful AI projections, they unpack the highs, lows, and everything in between. They discuss the MCU's shift into deeper themes, character arcs like The Hood's descent, Natalie's complex identity, and the MCU's growing use of magic as a tool for emotional storytelling. Timestamps and Topics: 00:00 Intro and spoiler warning 00:15 Initial reactions to the tone shift and episode structure 01:18 Magic in the MCU and Ironheart's connection 02:51 Mental health in Riri's journey 05:04 Natalie as therapy-influenced AI 06:57 AI vs memory: interpreting Natalie 10:15 White Castle fight scene and power scaling debate 12:02 Riri's engineering vs hand-to-hand combat 13:35 Zeke, The Hood, and the villain overload 14:41 Suit upgrades, magic montage, and chaos magic 17:06 Mephisto's role and Dormammu nod 24:07 Comic accuracy vs reinvention 25:57 MCU flexibility and changes to canon 28:54 Technology-meets-magic theme 31:01 AI projections and grief 33:04 MCU's future with Vision Quest and Ultron 35:03 Sacha Baron Cohen as Mephisto 36:37 The devil's deal and Natalie's return 37:25 Final suit thoughts 38:55 Thunderbolts, Champions, or New Avengers? 41:00 Post-credits scene breakdown 42:22 Hood's possible redemption 43:00 Final ratings and closing thoughts 44:44 Hopes for the MCU's next phase Key Takeaways: Ironheart explores mental health in nuanced ways, especially through Riri's breakdowns and support from Natalie. The show's shift into magic territory marks a new, risky direction for the character but pays off in Episode 6. Mephisto is back, and Sacha Baron Cohen's performance steals the show in just minutes. The Natalie AI walks a fine line between grief processing and synthetic memory. Riri's intelligence is highlighted less through her tech than it could've been—missed opportunities for showing her engineering skills. The MCU is clearly setting up more stories around AI, magic, and emotional cost, hinting at projects like Vision Quest, Armor Wars, and Doctor Strange 4. The Hood and Zelma Stanton's roles suggest major connections to Doctor Strange and Mephisto storylines ahead. Quotes: “Magic always takes something. It's not just about power—it's about sacrifice.” “Natalie is what your brain wants to hear, even if it's not what you need.” “They made Ironheart different from the comics, but if you're going to make big swings, at least make them interesting.” “Anthony Ramos brought heat. He made The Hood feel dangerous, sympathetic, and tragic—all in one season.” “That final suit? Bit Wakanda Forever. Still slick though.” Call to Action: Enjoyed the breakdown?
