It's been a (very) long time, but Shout At The Devil is slowly coming back! There was a minisode earlier this week explaining why it's been away so long, but the short version is that my cohost passed away, and after that, life got in the way. Still, I've got a long run of Blue Devil to go to from here, and when I can, I'll be making new episodes! I can't guarantee a consistent schedule right now, but hopefully you'll stick with me as I work on it. Thanks, everyone, and rock the horns! In this episode, a Superman villain decides to bring the fight to our favorite horned hero, who has to defeat Metallo without the assistance of the Big Blue Boy Scout. We cover Blue Devil #3 from front to back, and my (not-so-)inner smartass comes out as I poke at our comic book-y friends. It comes from a place of love, I swear! AFTER A WEEK OFF TALES OF THE JSA IS BACK! So yeah...ignore the talk of Black Friday because Mike and Scott were expecting this episode to be up last week but it just didn't work out that way. Nevertheless the guys have returned and have brought All-Star Squadron #13 with them. This is a character driven story that gives us some down time after the "epic" battle the team had with Hastor. The reviews are mostly positive though Scott and Mike do get a little serious when discussing one of the main plot points of the story. This is as close as they ever want to get to an actual political discussion on the show. Other than that it is the usual mix of banter, snark, Elsewhere in the Multiverse (courtesy of Mike's Amazing World of DC Comics) and even a handful of e-mails there at the end. HEADS UP, Y'ALL! REMEMBER TO ALSO LISTEN TO THIS WEEK'S BACK TO THE BINS FOR SOME MORE EARTH-2 GOODNESS! YOU'LL LOVE IT! MIKE AND SCOTT PROMISE! Next week: The first part of Crisis on Earth Prime! TALES OF THE JSA is back again and this time...it's personal! Well, maybe not so much personal as the issue Scott and Mike discuss this week isn't all that good. All-Star Squadron #12 was the third and final part to a story the guys didn't like so much, but as Scott says during the episode every series has it's "Spock's Brain". Topics include Hawkman's origin, why Captain Marvel couldn't be used in the series at the very beginning, the slowest space ship crash of all time and what the guys are looking forward to. They also head on over to Mike's Amazing World of DC Comics to see what else was going on in the DC Multi-verse during this story as well as reading a whole bunch of YOUR e-mails including an audio e-mail from Jon Wilson, he of Amazing Spider-Man Classics and Teenage Wasteland: An Ultimate Spider-Man Podcast.Feedback for this show can be sent to: talesofthejsa@gmail.comTwo True Freaks! is a proud member of BOTH the Comics Podcast Network (http://www.comicspodcasts.com/) and the League of Comic Book Podcasts (http://www.comicbooknoise.com/league/)!!
