Cambiano a seconda dell'età?

Acquista subito i miei romanzi!
La parola all’esperta.

Send us a textThe World Trade Organisation (WTO) Public Forum is underway in Geneva and its key theme is ‘re-globalisation'. Are we nervous of that word? Inside Geneva sat down with WTO officials to find out what it means.“Trade has been a very powerful force for reducing between-country inequality. Since 1995, for example, since the foundation of the WTO, extreme poverty in the world has been reduced from 40% to 10%, because of growth in many countries that was also export-led,” says Ralph Ossa, WTO chief economist. Many ordinary people think global trade makes them poorer. How can it benefit them?“At the WTO, our members have gotten together and many of them have formed a working group on trade and gender to especially put the lens of women to trade policy and to see what more can be done so that they can take advantage of opportunities,” says Johanna Hill, WTO Deputy Director. The WTO doesn't tell countries how to run their industries, but it does hope they can learn from one another.“Perhaps one member might say, ‘Well, you know, supporting women in my country has really been a tremendous success. Because now we see higher growth rates, lower poverty rates and so on. Why don't you give it a try yourself?'” says Ossa. Can global trade help us face global challenges?“Nobody questions the importance of regulating to protect the environment or to protect health - everybody agrees on that. It's the how that might be the question,” says Hill.Join host Imogen Foulkes for a trade special on Inside Geneva.Get in touch! He oído esto muchas veces.

Ossa Fisher, President of Aurora joined Grayson Brulte on The Road to Autonomy podcast to discuss how Aurora is preparing for driver-out operations in Texas by the end of the year. Aurora is taking a disciplined approach that Ossa likens to the preparation of elite athletes training for the Olympics.Aurora's advanced perception system combined with their proprietary FirstLight LiDAR is assisting the company in their journey towards driver-out operations. The FirstLight LiDAR can detect obstacles up to four football fields away, significantly enhancing safety. Aurora's development strategy combines on-road testing, controlled track environment testing, and extensive simulations. They're rigorously preparing for various weather conditions and rare events to ensure maximum safety and reliability. The company's partnerships with PACCAR, Volvo and Uber Freight will enable the company to scale operations and build a meaningful business overtime. The business model could change over time as it was developed to be flexible as the company scales driver-out commercial operations. The first lane that Aurora will operate driver-out will be Dallas to Houston followed by El Paso to Fort Worth. It's has been a big journey for Aurora to get to driver-out operations and it will be a bigger journey once driver-out operations commence and expand to multiple lanes.Recorded on Tuesday, July 9, 2024Episode Chapters0:00 Preparing for Driver-Out4:46 Uber Freight Partnership7:14 Customer Exceptions for Driver-Out9:06 Driver-Out Lanes9:48 Fright Lane Patterns11:05 Scaling Aurora14:09 Safety19:29 Building Trust22:11 Driver-Out Operations & Infrastructure23:47 OEM Partnerships26:55 CDL30:57 Economics of Aurora 37:26 Aurora's Impact on the Trucking Industry 39:46 Key Takeaways--------About The Road to AutonomyThe Road to Autonomy® is a leading source of data, insight and commentary on autonomous vehicles/trucks and the emerging autonomy economy™. On today's episode we get a report from four Bay Area activists who just returned from the West Bank doing protective presence work with the International Solidarity Movement, an attempt to deter Israel's continued colonial land grabs in the area, where the zionist state has taken more Palestinian land in the past 9 months than in any similar time period since the early 1990s. The International Solidarity Movement, or ISM, brings in volunteers from around the world to offer what they call a protective presence, that is, to spend time in endangered Palestinian areas, with a hope that the international presence could prevent zionist attacks. The ISM is building up its protective presence now in the West Bank, and a group of Bay Area activists have just returned from doing that work in the West Bank areas of Massafer Yatta, and in the Jordan Valley. That group joins us this morning, using pseudonyms or first names only, because being identified as ISM activists risks being prevented from continuing the work. Our guests are Bella, Ossa, Nina and Maria. A W-2 position to back you up as you begin your real estate investing career is a great way to establish stability and a steady income. It's even better if your W-2 career happens to be real estate adjacent. On this episode of Zen and the Art of Real Estate Investing, Jonathan welcomes Diana Ossa and Josh Dobken to the show. Diana and Josh are architects, designers, construction managers, real estate investors, and mid-term rental hosts. Their complementary strengths have led to an investing venture that continues to grow as Diana and Josh work toward their goals together. Jonathan, Diana, and Josh start their conversation by exploring their backgrounds as architects, Diana's focus on studio art and construction management, and Josh's emphasis on construction management and hospitality. You'll hear them explain the challenges of a limited budget on large-scale projects in terms of architectural design, what pushed them both toward real estate investing careers while maintaining their W-2 positions, and how they landed on Kansas City for their initial investment. Diana and Josh share why they pivoted toward commercial real estate, the great deal that almost was and why it fell through, and how they decided why no deal is better than a bad deal. Finally, Jonathan, Diana, and Josh cover hospitality's role in property management and cohosting in mid-term rentals, where their business is going in the future with a boutique hotel in their sights, and their reasons for keeping the scale small to remain in the boutique world and staffing manageable. While architecture may not be the first profession to come to mind when you think of real estate investors, Diana Ossa and Josh Dobken are proving that architects have precisely what it takes to be great investors. In this episode, you will hear: Diana Ossa and Josh Dobken's backgrounds and how they complement one another How a limited budget on a large-scale project can present challenges in architectural design The catalysts that pushed Diana and Josh to begin their real estate investing careers and their “why” behind it The biggest gift real estate gave Diana and why she is no longer willing to sacrifice everything for a W-2 architecture career Why Josh does not plan to leave his W-2 and the stability it provides to continue pursuing real estate investing The markets Diana and Josh explored for their first property and how relocating to Kansas City ended up being a fantastic decision Their pivot to commercial real estate and its appeal to Diana and Josh with their architectural backgrounds The property they found just outside Rocky Mountain National Park that they acted quickly on and the reasons the deal fell through Why no deal is better than a bad deal—even if you can force the numbers Hospitality's role in property management and cohosting with others in mid-term rentals Where Diana and Josh's business is going over the next couple of years, with a boutique hotel at the forefront Keeping the scale small for the boutique world and staffing needs Follow and Review: We'd love for you to follow us if you haven't yet. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
For this Women of Color Rise episode, Analiza talks with Maria-Leticia Ossa Daza, Founding Partner and Chair of Latin America Practice, Willkie Farr & Gallagher Maria-Leticia Ossa Daza Born and raised in Colombia, Leticia knew from an early age that she wanted to be a lawyer. Her parents were both lawyers and supported her dreams, with Leticia getting a scholarship for college in France. After graduating, Leticia found herself in New York as a lawyer, surrounded by mostly white males and not sure how to show up. Leticia shares how she got clear on her authentic leadership brand and how that helped her get recognized and rise at her organization. Analiza and Leticia discuss how to leverage our authentic leadership brand: Step 1: Know and leverage your brand. Your brand is what makes you unique. This includes your strengths, goals, and job history. This also includes aspects of yourself outside of work such as your cultural background and activities such as volunteer work. For Leticia, her brand included being a Latina with an international background. Her brand also included dressing with color instead of the standard dark office attire, using her hands to communicate, and also dancing at the holiday party. She saw that being different could help her stand out. Step 2: Understand how to apply your brand and uniqueness to the organization's needs. Spot opportunities and share your ideas with senior leaders. For Leticia, her Latin American background gave her the unique lens to see that the organization was missing a big opportunity. She took the initiative to share her idea to start the Latin American practice with a senior leader. That leader applauded the idea, became her mentor, and helped advocate for Leticia to found the Latin American practice. Step 3: Share your brand inside and outside of your organization. Inside her organization, Leticia shared her unique perspective and cultural background. Outside of her organization, Leticia began to write more, starting with LinkedIn. Leticia's writing got noticed for its unique perspective, and she is now a columnist for La Republica on international business trends.
