It's a dig for gems on a week where there were more comics than we thought. We're constantly weighing the value of nostalgia in comic book properties, and how much it adds to the experience of comic book stories. We reached no conclusion. The secret is always down to the creative team and how good they told that story. Finally, once more, we need to ask forgiveness from the Italian comic book community. Jace and Rocky break down all 9 DC releases for the week of July 8, 2026. Clayface: Celebrity Dirt #1 turns Basil Karlo's Hollywood comeback into an identity mystery when another Clayface who also believes he is Basil Karlo escapes and begins searching for himself. Fury of Firestorm #4 reframes Professor Stein as a manipulative figure when Lorraine Reilly learns she was also used in his attempt to control the Firestorm Matrix. Bleeding Hearts #6 forces Poke to choose a side when his beating heart is revealed. Barbara Gordon: Breakout #3 uses flashbacks to a mission with Nightwing, Cassandra Cain and Huntress to help Barbara realize the pills she has been taking may be drugging her. Absolute Catwoman #2 reveals more of Selina Kyle's past with the Calicos while centering the heist around the Yarn, an object with possible Brainiac links. Supergirl #15 concludes the Hero of Kandor storyline featuring Kara's final showdown with Black Flame with the future of Kandor in the balance, while Lesla continues her hero's journey. Emperor Aquaman #15 has Batman and Wonder Woman question whether the Justice League could stop Aquaman as Arthur's power as king of the blue expands across the galaxy. Absolute Batman #22 reveals Absolute Harley Quinn's connection to Jack Grimm while Batman ignores her warnings and falls deeper into Scarecrow's psychological trap. Green Lantern Corps #18 uses Guy Gardner's perspective to reframe the emotional entities as sentient beings who deserve respect instead of weapons to be deployed against the Manhunters. They also give a rundown of this week's collected editions, reprints and facsimile releases. As always, all books are ranked from top to bottom and each host gives a Book of the Week pick.

Chris explains how two members of his team were unexpectedly named online, why the situation became so stressful for everyone involved, and how a lack of clarity around their processes helped fuel the reaction. He also shares the steps 72 Point took in response, including bringing in industry expert Stuart Bruce to carry out a six-week review of their methods. The findings surprised many people and led to important changes in how the company communicates its approach. A few weeks ago, comics lost one of the legends of the late Silver and Bronze Age. While Gerry Conway is probably best known for his work on Spider-Man at Marvel, where he killed Gwen Stacy and creating the Punisher, and to a somewhat lesser extent creating Firestorm at DC, Conway had a solid run on both Batman and Detective Comics, as well as writing other Batman stories. In memory of Conway, this week we're reading three stories he wrote. We have a one-off featuring the return of the Silver Age Mystery Analysts of Gotham City, a two parter featuring Two-Face and a story from Brave and the Bold where Batman solves a space mystery with Green Lantern and the Guardians of the Universe The Adventure of the Houdini Whodunit (Batman V.1 # 295) Half a Hero is Better than None (Batman V.1 # 346, Detective Comics V.1 # 513) One of Us is Not One of Us (The Brave and the Bold V.1 # 173-174) Check out our current ranking list at www.comicsxf.com/batchat-rankings/ Thanks to Geri Nonnewitz for our podcast logo Support the show on Patreon at www.patreon.com/batchatwithmattandwill

In this comprehensive, blockbuster compilation of the day's transcripts from the Battleground America podcast, the hosts break down the massive forces colliding across the country. First, we celebrate an monumental economic victory as the United States officially eclipses Saudi Arabia and Russia to become the world's number one oil exporter at a record-shattering 10.5 million barrels per day—driving world transactions to a historic 51.1% petrodollar dominance and sparking a massive domestic economic boom. Then, the gloves come off. The host tears into the establishment political machine, slamming the newly brokered Trump-Iran peace deal as "pallets of cash" for unlocking $25 billion in frozen assets. We then expose the intense political theater surrounding the federal SAVE Act after Mitch McConnell blocked voter integrity measures from his hospital bed. Turning to local battlegrounds, we unpack the absolute outrage over the Los Angeles mayoral primary after progressive Nithya Raman erased a 40,000-vote deficit to edge out populist outsider Spencer Pratt from the runoff. Finally, we expose a terrifying COVID-19 medical bombshell as Senator Ron Johnson reveals documented evidence of hidden vaccine adverse events buried by federal agencies, contrasting genuine wealth creation against the Left's network of corrupt corporate NGOs. Battleground America, US Oil Export Record, Energy Independence, Petrodollar Dominance, Iran Peace Deal Controversy, SAVE Act Vote, LA Mayoral Primary, Spencer Pratt Campaign, Senator Ron Johnson, COVID Data Scandal

Runoff battles, Freedom Caucus attacks, ICE enforcement, and explosive H-1B fraud allegations dominate today's political landscape. DESCRIPTION Today's AMPERWAVE DAILY episode pulls together a full day of political coverage centered on South Carolina's tightening governor's race, escalating internal GOP conflict, immigration enforcement actions, and national implications from newly surfaced allegations involving H-1B visa fraud and foreign credential verification. As political mailers flood key districts and accusations of misinformation intensify, Freedom Caucus lawmakers push back against what they describe as coordinated efforts to mislead voters ahead of a critical runoff election. Meanwhile, broader national debates over immigration enforcement, workforce integrity, and election security continue to collide with state-level political battles. EPISODE SUMMARY South Carolina's governor's race is heading toward a high-stakes runoff, with polling showing a tightly packed field and no clear frontrunner. Campaign dynamics shift rapidly as candidates jockey for position and outside political forces intensify messaging across the state. Freedom Caucus members face aggressive mail campaigns they say misrepresent their voting records, sparking accusations of coordinated political manipulation. Lawmakers argue that establishment-aligned groups are targeting conservative candidates with misleading narratives about taxes, pay raises, and legislative votes. On the enforcement front, a recent ICE-related operation in Abbeville continues to generate debate after reports surfaced of management-level arrests and broader questions about employer accountability in illegal hiring practices. Nationally, the discussion expands into a major controversy involving H-1B visa programs and allegations that fraudulent educational credentials may be far more widespread than previously understood. Reports suggest large numbers of counterfeit degrees could be circulating, raising concerns about professional licensing in engineering, healthcare, and technical fields. The conversation also touches on broader themes of immigration policy, labor market competition, wage suppression arguments, and the long-term effects of visa systems tied to employment-based residency pathways. Finally, concerns over election integrity, dark money influence, and transparency in political advertising add another layer of tension to an already volatile political environment. KEY TOPICS South Carolina Governor's Race & Expected Runoff GOP Primary Fragmentation Freedom Caucus Political Mailer Controversy Allegations of Misleading Campaign Messaging Abbeville ICE Raid & Employer Accountability Immigration Enforcement Policy Debate H-1B Visa Program Scrutiny Foreign Degree Fraud Allegations Labor Market & Wage Competition Debate Election Integrity & Ballot Security Concerns Dark Money & Political Influence in State Politics Federal Document Transparency Questions BIGGEST TAKEAWAYS South Carolina's governor's race remains extremely close and likely headed for a runoff. SUBTITLE South Carolina Senate challenger blasts establishment politics while a viral Seattle neighborhood barricade shows what happens when citizens lose trust in public safety. HOOK A heated Senate race in South Carolina collides with a shocking scene out of Seattle—where residents are literally building barricades to stop nightly gunfire. Meanwhile, GOP challenger Mark Lynch escalates his war on Lindsey Graham, calling him “out of touch” and accusing him of fueling endless foreign conflict and immigration-driven strain on the states. SUMMARY South Carolina Senate candidate Mark Lynch joined the program to discuss tightening polling, rising political tension, and his escalating primary battle against incumbent Senator Lindsey Graham. Lynch argued that Graham is losing support due to voter frustration over inflation, immigration policy, and continued U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts. He framed the race as a referendum on establishment Republican leadership versus an “America First” direction. He also responded to ongoing attack ads accusing him of supporting drug legalization, strongly denying the claims while acknowledging his past struggles with addiction, including a decades-old cocaine trafficking arrest. Lynch described his recovery, pardon, and long-term work in faith-based rehabilitation programs. The campaign discussion emphasized immigration pressure, H-1B visa competition, and housing affordability concerns, with Lynch claiming South Carolina is under strain from population growth and infrastructure limitations. Later in the broadcast, attention shifted to a viral situation in Seattle, where residents in a middle-class neighborhood have constructed makeshift barricades—filled with heavy materials—to block streets after repeated shootings. The move comes amid claims of reduced police presence and rising gang activity, sparking a debate over public safety, civic responsibility, and government response. The juxtaposition of political campaigning and on-the-ground civil unrest underscored a broader theme of the episode: institutions failing to meet public expectations, and citizens reacting in increasingly direct ways. KEY POINTS Mark Lynch challenges Lindsey Graham's leadership and voting record Claims establishment GOP is out of step with voters on immigration and inflation Lynch addresses attack ads and acknowledges past addiction history Frames campaign as “America First vs. Uniparty” contest Seattle residents build barricades amid repeated shootings Debate over police response and civic self-help measures Broader theme: institutional distrust and political polarization QUOTE OF THE DAY “South Carolinians aren't stupid—they read between the lines.” SOCIAL MEDIA POST
