Step into Episode 221 of On The Delo as Delo sits down with Keifer Gilbert - a tattooed small-town Arizona kid turned elite craft bartender turned sober ultra runner - for one of the most honest, raw, and inspiring conversations the show has delivered. From getting fired from Applebee's reeking of Jäger at 20, to helping launch Counterintuitive cocktail bar, to blacking out nightly while raising a newborn, Keifer's story is a masterclass in rock bottom, reinvention, and what it actually takes to do hard things sober. They cover the Phoenix and Scottsdale hospitality scene in depth - Cashmere, Cowboy Chow, Bitter & Twisted, Counterintuitive - and then pivot into the real story: how sobriety on Christmas Day 2018 led to Keifer trading shots for trail running and ultimately finishing the Cocodona 250, a 256.3-mile race from Black Canyon City to downtown Flagstaff with 37,000 ft of elevation gain in 108 hours. Caroline gets super real about the empty nest feelings starting to hit… like a ton of bricks.
You can see it clearly: the project is FUBAR, the reporting is rosy, and the people with the power to do something about it are several levels above you. But sending a flare up the chain feels risky—especially when your boss's boss's boss is the one you need to reach. So what do you actually do? In this mini episode, Rodney and Sam respond to a listener stuck in that exact spot and offer a few moves that don't involve career-ending emails or anonymous screeds nailed to the CEO's door, and explore whether you can quietly reshape the data story being told upstream in a way that's helpful rather than accusatory. -------------------------------- Ready to change your organization? Margaux Aubry has quietly built one of London's most influential neighbourhood restaurants. As the owner of Naughty Piglets, she's spent the last 12 years helping redefine what modern London dining can be: brilliant produce, fearless cooking, incredible natural wine and a restaurant that genuinely feels part of its community. In this episode, she joins us to tell the remarkable story behind one of the capital's most beloved independent restaurants. We dive into her journey from growing up in Lyon to arriving in London as a teenager, falling in love with hospitality and eventually opening Naughty Piglets with almost no blueprint to follow. Margaux shares the highs and lows of building an independent restaurant, why she's happier running the business on her own terms today, the famous jambon beurre that has become a London institution, and why Paris still pulls at her heartstrings every time she visits. As always, the conversation is packed with brilliant food stories. Margaux reveals her favourite bistros in Paris, the dishes that defined her childhood, why Comté might just be the perfect cheese, the legendary fox that once became trapped inside the restaurant overnight, and the wild days serving millionaire yacht owners on the French Riviera. We also chat natural wine, London's changing restaurant scene, and why she believes the industry's constant negativity risks putting off the next generation of restaurateurs.BUY TICKETS TO OUR LIVE SHOW HERE ON MONDAY 27TH JULY - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/go-to-food-podcast-live-with-chef-adam-byatt-tickets-1992111901323?aff=oddtdtcreatorYou can book a virtual demonstration with Quooker to find the right setup for your kitchen and remember, until the end of August, if you use the code GO TO FOOD, you'll get free installation and a free Quooker glassware set. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is a multi-award-winning British chef, writer, broadcaster and campaigner, best known as the creator of River Cottage. He joins the Go To Food podcast fresh from the release of his new book, High Fibre Heroes, before settling into a gloriously wide-ranging conversation full of stories from a life spent cooking, eating, questioning and occasionally causing national outrage.Hugh looks back on childhood in Gloucestershire, learning to cook alongside his mother, helping make shepherd's pie from leftover roast lamb, and later becoming the “pastry chef” for her 1970s dinner parties. He shares tales from Oxford dinner parties, smoked haddock obsessions, and his time at the River Cafe, where he made lemon tart for Rose Gray and secretly doubled the chocolate in Elizabeth David's chocolate cake — only to be politely rumbled by Elizabeth David herself. The conversation also revisits Hugh's early television years, from Cook on the Wild Side to TV Dinners, including the infamous placenta pâté episode that earned an Ofcom complaint and became part of British food TV folklore. He reflects on the beginnings of River Cottage, moving from London to Dorset, learning from farmers, foragers and local characters, and building a world that helped change the way Britain thought about food, farming and self-sufficiency.Along the way, there are stories of roadkill rumours, wild boar charcuterie, Gordon Ramsay's pigs, Jamie Oliver, school food, restaurant culture, barbecue hogget, decorative garnishes, and why you should never put an oyster shell on mashed potato. Funny, thoughtful and occasionally surreal, this is Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall at his storytelling best.Order Hugh's new book High Fibre Heroes - https://shorturl.at/9Wk19Watch and Subscribe To Our Youtube Videos Here - https://www.youtube.com/@gotofoodOrder Ben's Incredible Book - All You Can Eat - By Clicking Here - https://www.amazon.co.uk/All-You-Can-Eat-British/dp/1805221523Get 2 Months of Blinq For Free - With Code - GOTOBLINQ - https://blinqme.com/Order The Greatest Meat In The Country From HG Walter Here & Have Restaurant Quality Meals From Home - www.hgwalter.com Hosted on Acast. In this episode of the Creator Method Podcast, Gary Lipovetsky sits down with Jeremy Abramson, also known as Jeremy Awakens, to unpack what it really takes to build a personal brand rooted in truth, conviction, and courage. Jeremy has built a community of over half a million followers by doing what most creators avoid: taking a clear stand, saying what he believes, and accepting the cost that comes with it. Together, they break down why so many creators stay silent, how fear of being judged kills authenticity, and why playing it safe may be the very thing holding your content back. Jeremy shares the story of getting fired from his dream job, finding out his girlfriend cheated on him within the same 48 hours, and how that painful turning point pushed him to create a completely new reality for himself. The conversation dives into Jeremy's evolution as a creator, from building in the health, mindset, and spirituality space to becoming more outspoken during COVID and after October 7th. He opens up about losing followers, losing friends, receiving threats, and learning how to detach from the opinions of strangers while staying grounded in his purpose. Jeremy explains why creators need to stop obsessing over being liked, why authenticity often looks “cringe” before it looks powerful, and why the people who judge you are usually the ones afraid to express themselves. He also shares how consistency, high output, and trusting your intuition helped him build a stronger, more durable personal brand than chasing one viral moment ever could. Gary and Jeremy also explore the emotional side of leadership online, including what happens when your content starts changing people's lives, how to handle hate without becoming consumed by it, and why true influence requires a deeper connection to your values, your faith, and your own inner voice. This episode is a powerful conversation about courage, identity, creator growth, and the cost of speaking your truth online. If you are a creator who feels afraid to post, afraid to offend, or afraid to fully be yourself, this episode will challenge you to stop holding back and start creating from conviction. Gen Z workers are entering the job market, and in some cases, getting fired just as quickly. A recent survey found that many employers say they've let Gen Z hires go within months of their hire, citing gaps in communication, professionalism and expectations. But is this really a problem with young workers—or is it something deeper? NYU professor Suzy Welch breaks down what she sees as a fundamental mismatch between what employers want and what Gen Z values. She also explains how AI, remote work and a shifting job market are making it harder for early-career workers to find their footing.Let us know what you think of this episode by sending an email to podcasts@usatoday.com. Steve Kerr Just DESTROYED The Warriors After Getting Fired
Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed the Oilers' Game 2 loss, Connor McDavid's ankle injury, the series heading to Anaheim, and much more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a conversation about the guy who threw the chicken/duck onto the ice, and how it was a moronic decision at that point in the game. Not only was it a dumb move to throw the bird on the ice, but to do it at that point of the game when the Oilers were buzzing was every shade of annoying. The guys even tried to think of better times he could have still done the stunt without annoying the entire fanbase.Changing gears, the conversation turned to Tyler's beef of the week, which centred around the playoff spirit that hasn't really landed in Edmonton yet. Given that we're two games in and there are very few car flags on vehicles in the city, Tyler called out the fanbase for not getting hyped up for the first round and offered a plea to get more involved to show support. That led to a discussion about what went wrong in Game 2, and what needs to be sorted out ahead of Friday's first game in Anaheim. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast on the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with what the team needs to do better in Game 3 and beyond. From there, the boys played another round of 501 centred on how many playoff games a guy has played as an Oiler. Finally, Jay aired out a bonus Beef of the Week about Chalmers calling him at the most unfortunate times of day and complaining about never getting calls back. Hosted on Acast. Dan shares an awkward undercarriage issue, and the crew spin their Fuellette wheel: Uber driver Gagan misses $5,000, but Edward—dad of seven—wins $5,000 and declines the risky spin, only to learn a test spin would’ve landed on $50,000. They riff on luck, unique (often unfortunate) names, birth-plan disasters, first-kiss stories inspired by Love on the Spectrum, and end with a Foo Fighters-era entry from Dan’s diary. 00:00 Frosty Morning Banter01:23 Throwback Song Debate03:54 Caller Nicole Pet Names08:05 Scandal Celebrity Updates11:10 More Or Less Movie Ratings15:13 Naughty 6:40 Undercarriage...19:50 Fuellette25:07 Unique Names Returns32:44 Birth Plan Gone Wrong41:05 The Edge Breakfast Caucus...47:21 Fuellette54:14 Love on the Spectrum Kisses01:03:12 Clints Lucky Streak Debate01:12:14 Deb Gets the News01:14:45 Dans Diary Returns

In this episode, we're joined by coach Nick Pasqua for a powerful and honest conversation on resilience, leadership, and building a program from the ground up.Coach Pasqua shares his unconventional path through the profession — from early success and landing a head coaching job at 30, to being fired after one season, and then taking over one of the most challenging programs in Division II basketball. Through those experiences, he unpacks the realities of coaching that often go unspoken: failure, self-doubt, identity, and the pressure to prove yourself. We dive into the transformational lessons that reshaped his leadership approach — moving from control and ego-driven coaching to clarity, adaptability, and player-centered communication. Pasqua details how simplifying standards, prioritizing effort and accountability, and embracing authenticity became the foundation for rebuilding culture and driving a historic turnaround. On the court, we explore how necessity fueled innovation, including blending Princeton concepts with Euroflow motion to create adaptable, hard-to-scout offensive structures built around decision-making and spacing. This is a must-listen for any coach navigating adversity, building a program, or striving to evolve their leadership.

What if posting about coaching cost you your job? For many aspiring coaches, this fear quietly keeps them from ever sharing their voice. They worry about HR seeing their content, violating a contract, or being abruptly let go before they feel ready. So they stay silent... telling themselves they're just being responsible. In this episode, we explore the deeper question beneath that fear. Because the real issue usually isn't getting fired—it's whether you trust yourself to be okay if life changes. We'll unpack the illusion of job security, the hidden cost of staying quiet, and how to shift your focus toward what's actually within your control. If this fear has been holding you back, this conversation will help you think about it in a calmer, clearer way... and reconnect with a powerful truth: your future isn't determined by a job, but by the person you're becoming. To start a successful coaching business, visit www.thrivingcoachacademy.com.
