Jerry returns for an update. He's doing the Niners/Bucs game on the radio for Compass Media and it's a Tom Brady game. Maybe Jerry will get to meet him since he's friends with Kevin Burkhardt. Jerry has all the sounds from the Ravens beating the Bengals in a shootout. There were two missed calls on the Bengals unsuccessful 2-pt attempt. Dexter Lawrence talked about the business trip to Germany.
We started somehow talking about what the different generations are called. Gio is a Millennial but he thinks he's something in between GenX and Millenial and is feeling marginalized. We also talked about the Keith McPherson vs Shaun Morash feud situation. Then we talked about Gio's feud with Mike Fancesa when it made the back page of the NY Post 6 years ago. In the final segment of the hour, we took a l ook at the AFC playoff picture as we stand right now. We talked more about the NFL refs inserting themselves in the outcome of last night's Bengals/Ravens game.
Hour 1 Last night we had a high scoring game between the Bengals and Ravens. But once again, the refs were the story of the game. They had two non-calls on the Bengals 2-point conversion which could have won the game for the Bengals. We wondered if the refs are being told not to call penalties late in games. Boomer said the NFL has a major problem. The Bengals loss was good for the Jets, but Gio doesn't think they are winning in Arizona on Sunday. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds from last night's Ravens win over the Bengals. Al Michaels said ‘too many games end this way' when talking about penalties not being called on the 2-pt conversion. Joe Burrow said he's never gotten those calls so he doesn't expect them. Sal was a guest with Chris Russo on the Jimmy Traina podcast and Russo wants the money owed him by Sal and Gio. Gio told us the real story about the money he owed Russo's bookie. Boomer was on the Fox News Weather Update podcast. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about the Giants missing out on Jayden Daniels because they won too many meaningless games at the end of the season. Worst case scenario would be they do the same thing this year. Boomer thinks they're going to ‘beat the pulp out of the Panthers'. Hour 2 We started somehow talking about what the different generations are called. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Ravens beating the Bengals. The Giants are headed to Germany to play the Panthers and Daniel Jones is excited. James Jones of FS1 gives a ‘my bad' to Dak Prescott now that his hamstring is torn off the bone. The Breakfast Ball on FS1 suggests a penalty box in the NFL. In the final segment of the hour, Gio wonders if we should have zero Juan Soto discussions until he signs. Boomer said no, because it's the biggest story in the baseball offseason. We already have Juan Soto fatigue. We have put a moratorium on Juan Soto talk until he actually signs somewhere. All of the shows on WFAN are talking non-stop about him. Boomer & Gio's high schools are playing each other again today. Jerry returns for his final update of the day, but first we talked about the AOL voice guy passing away. ‘You've Got Mail'. Jerry starts with the sounds of the Ravens beating the Bengals on TNF. The refs missed 2 calls on the 2-pt conversion attempt and Joe Burrow said he never gets those calls so he doesn't expect them. Hour 1 The Giants looked terrible in week one as they have every freaking single year it seems. Boomer said of Daniel Jones' performance, ‘oofah!'. Boomer called him, ‘skittish and nervous' and it was ‘cringe watching it yesterday'. Gio thinks they need to make the move to Drew Lock as he has so much more energy. What is the point of this season for the Giants? And we can't let the Giants defense off the hook because we're focused on Daniel Jones. Gio said the Giants can say Daniel Jones wasn't ready to come back from his injury, and start Lock this week. Jerry is here for his first update and started with the sounds of the Giants losing to the Vikings. There were a lot of Vikings fans at MetLife. Brian Daboll was asked about a QB change and he said, ‘that's not in my mind'. Jerry has audio of fans screaming at Daniel Jones as he leaves the stadium. Dexter Lawrence was not happy with the fans booing. The Patriots stunned the Bengals in Cincinnati. Tyreek Hill was detained before the game after he was stopped for a traffic violation. He talked about that after the game. The Cowboys extended Dak Prescott and Jerry Jones seems to think he's the last Cowboys QB in his time. I guess he thinks he's dying. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls from frustrated Giants fans. Hour 2 Tom Brady made his broadcasting debut yesterday with Kevin Burkhardt. Gio likes Brady but said he was bad in his first broadcast. His voice wasn't cutting through and he only stated the obvious. He was also stopping in the middle of sentences. Boomer thought he got better as the game went on. He also didn't have a great game to do. He didn't criticize DeShaun Watson, which seemed like a layup to Gio. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Daniel Jones pick-6. Brian Daboll was asked a lot of questions and said he had to ‘watch the tape'. Daniel Jones is also going to review the tape. Jerry has the audio from Sunday Night Football as the Lions beat the Rams. The Patriots beat the Bengals in Jerod Mayo's head coaching debut. Tyreek Hill talked about being handcuffed after he was pulled over by police on the way to the stadium. Mike McCarthy talked about the Cowboys getting a win in Cleveland. James Brown and the NFL Today gave a shout out to Boomer & Phil Simms. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls from frustrated Giants fans. Hour 3 Jayden Daniels needs to tighten his helmet as it keeps falling off. Gio also noticed that he's bailing from the pocket and running a lot. He had a very calm demeanor, joking around with Buccaneer defenders. This is who the Giants face next. Gio thinks it's the worst opponent to face after this week and he laid out reasons why. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Giants losing to the Vikings. Mike Francesa called it a ‘disgraceful and embarrassing performance'. Drew Bledsoe took a shot at Tony Romo as a player. Jerry has audio of Tom Brady as he started his broadcasting career. In the final segment of the hour, Saquon Barkley had 3 TDs on Friday night for the Eagles, which seems to embarrass Giants fans even more. Gio said he would not have helped the Giants win yesterday. Hour 4 Aaron Rodgers and the Jets play in San Francisco tonight. Kirk Cousins came off an injury like Rodgers and did not look good yesterday. A caller thinks Daniel Jones let the Giants legends down, who were in the house for the 100th anniversary of the team. Gio doesn't think any Giants legends care about Daniel Jones' performance. Boomer disagrees, saying guys like Phil Simms do care about the current Giants. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the postgame sound from yesterday's Giants loss. Jerry went around the NFL including the Patriots beating the Bengals and the Cowboys beating the Browns. Gerrit Cole of the Yankees was asked how to stop cramping. Moment of The Day: The NFL Today guys gave Boomer & shout out and Eddie had a quality drop from Al. In the final segment ...
