The Jimmy Butler saga is finally complete as the Miami Heat have traded him to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, PJ Tucker and a draft pick. Jeremy is fired up to talk about this move, but he's not allowed to discuss it until he produces the "thong song" he promised us yesterday. David Samson wanted to do an emergency show last night after eating at “Cote,” but Pablo Torre was…in a towel. What would a restaurant called Samson look like? Plus, a random guy broke the trade to the Miami Heat bench during their game last night, Ryan Cortes is fired up about PJ Tucker, Samson only seems to care about Kyle Anderson and Amin has some insight straight from Jimmy's agent about how this trade came together. Pablo Torre, David Samson, and (eventually) Amin Elhassan are today's substitute teachers, and they're off to a roaring start with one goal: have more fun than the group in New Orleans for the Super Bowl. Pablo kicks things off by taking us through the details of what it was like dining with David at Joe's Stone Crabs. Then, the NBA trade rumors are still circling around Jimmy Butler and, now, Kevin Durant as we inch closer to tomorrow's Trade Deadline, but none of it compares to the Luka Doncic trade made by the Dallas Mavericks earlier this week. As interested as Pablo and David are in the transaction, they have questions around how ownership impacted the decision. That leads us directly to a Facebook conspiracy theory surrounding the Mavericks, Luka, Las Vegas, and Texas legislature. Plus, we witness one of the most awkward almost-high-fives in the history of this program. Today's cast: Pablo, David, Amin, Chris, Jessica, and Jeremy. Learn more about your ad choices. Plus, Adam Schefter tweeted out Stugotz's Alex Smith take, so we take a look back at some of the worst takes in show history, including Dan's prediction that the Lions would be a playoff team in a year where they ultimately went 0-16. Despite LeBron James returning to Cleveland and Miami moving out of The Big 3 era, the show is reaching new heights. The show is being broadcast on Fusion Network from the brand new studios at The Clevelander, and it has never been more nationally relevant. Executives love the show, the ratings are great and it's even being sold in marketing packets and promoted across ESPN networks. Everything is going great, right? Not so fast. Even though the show is putting out some of the best content it ever has, something feels off to the entire crew and they can't quite put their finger on what it is. While all of this is happening, Charlie Hulme enters the pressure cooker to help improve the quality of the television product and quickly notices something isn't right. As the show searches for answers, the quality of content being produced does not drop and the show barrels towards being a giant. Yet, Mike and Stugotz feel like a critical juncture is looming and fear the end of the show could be near. Then, you will not want to miss this edition of the Supercut which includes some of the most famous stories in show history, the iconic Jesse Ventura interview featuring Pablo Torre dressed as an orca, a banger from Izzy Gutierrez and of the all-time Stugotz blunders in show history.
