Kenny and Mark welcome Billboard Magazine's Keith Caulfield (co-host of the Billboard Pop Shop podcast) to discuss the vibrant - yet troublesome - first song and lead single from Rebel Heart. Topics include THE LEAK and technology foibles, demos on hard drives, launching a “leak lead” hotline, multiple album versions (and covers), Sebastien Tellier, unending teasers, unusual suspects, the power of pivoting and musical chaos, Jonathan Ross, Prince, the endless curiosity of Diplo, Mozella, Sky Ferreira,“Where are the stems?”, bringing in the gospel choir at the Grammy Awards, THE FALL (or “The Yank”) at the Brit Awards, the Nietzsche quote, Megan Lawson, Danny Tull, JACK, diamond encrusted bull horns and fussy matadors, and the subtle nods to nostalgia. Plus, Kenny converses with Chat GPT and Keith helps Madonna find her light and reminds her of “Rescue Me”! Mark, Kenny, and Keith trades Liz Rosenberg “The Validator” stories, Guy Oseary meet-ups, and podcast best-practices and music industry dish. AND in 2015, Mark and Kenny meet … for the very first time. Love's gonna lift us up!Please join us on the Patreon for our “shadow season” - discussing the lost demo tracks from the Rebel Heart sessions - in conversation with this season. It's messy and magical, y'all - just like REBEL HEART. XO

YEAH, LORD! MOVING WITH THE SPIRIT: FIFTY YEARS A MINISTER AND A SCHOLAR TO THE GLORY OF GOD by Mozella Mitchell This is a searching perceptive examination of the fifty years of Dr. Mitchell's service as preacher in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church ministry and a scholar in the church and university, how she was led into this dual profession, how she survived in it as a Black woman, how social movements and changes in the society impacted her life and ambitions, and most of all how God was always working in her life over more than eight decades, guiding, directing, sustaining her and enabling her to achieve His purposes for her life, thereby getting the glory out of her life for the good of her family, others, friends, and the church and society. She accepted her role as a divine instrument, and only God could have enabled her to adjust and readjust to the rapid changes taking place from one decade to another in the Civil Rights Movement, the Black Power Movement, the Women's Rights Movement, the Black Womanist Movement. Mozella Mitchell is a professor emeritus of the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida; and pastor and founder of Love of Christ A.M.E. Zion Tabernacle, Inc., Brandon, Florida. She earned her A.B. degree in English from LeMoyne College, Memphis, Tennessee in 1959; her M.A. degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1963; her M.A. degree in Religious Studies in 1973 from Colgate Rochester Divinity School, Rochester, NY; her Ph.D. degree from Emory University in Literature and Theology in 1980. She has published five books in her long career as college and university professor, scholar, and minister, having spent 33 years as Professor of Religious Studies at the University of South Florida. https://www.amazon.com/Yeah-Lord-Moving-Spirit-Minister/dp/1796087254 http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/drmozmitchell.mp3
