On this episode of little teeth, BIG Smiles, host Dr. Joel Berg is joined by Dr. Brittaney Hill, the 2024 recipient of the AAPD Jerome B. Miller “For the Kids” Award. As an up-and-coming practitioner, Dr. Hill shares her experience as a mentee and the impact her mentors had on her career trajectory into pediatric dentistry and the public health sphere. She also delves into how those experiences have impacted her relationship with students as the Pediatric Dentistry Post-Graduate Residency Program Director at UIC. Guest Bio: Dr. Brittaney Hill earned her DDS from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry. She then completed a Pediatric Dentistry Residency at the University of Illinois Chicago, where she earned her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, an MS in Oral Sciences, and an MPH in Health Policy and Administration. Upon completion of her residency program, Dr. Hill immediately transitioned into full-time faculty at UIC and now serves as Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program Director. Kimberly Morio, DDS, is a native Iowan, having grown up in Solon, IA near Cedar Rapids. After serving in the United States Air Force for three years, she was offered a scholarship to dental school, where she was introduced to the intricate and hands-on specialty of endodontics. Dr. Scott Drucker attended the University of Pennsylvania for both his Bachelors degree in Biology and his DMD. He then completed his residency in Periodontics with a Master of Science in Oral Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In summer of 2014 he founded Supply Clinic, the online marketplace for dental supplies. As an entrepreneurial clinician, Dr. Drucker has a unique perspective to improve the dental supply market with dentists in mind.

Dr. William Nudera earned a DDS from the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry in 1999. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Air Force Dental Corps where he completed a one year AEGD residency program. During his time of service, Dr Nudera received a National Defense Service Medal for his involvement in “Operation Enduring Freedom” and was awarded the title of Air Force Dental Office of the Year in 2002. Following his service, Dr. Nudera returned to Chicago where he continued to practice general dentistry while pursuing an education in Endodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Nudera completed his Endodontic training in 2005 earning his Endodontic specialty certificate as well as a Masters Degree in Oral Sciences. Dr. Nudera is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He has several national and international publications including multiple scientific research contributions to the Journal of Endodontics and a chapter in the endodontics textbook 3D Imaging in Endodontics. Dr. Nudera maintains a full-time private practice limited to Endodontics at Specialized Endodontic Solutions in the Chicago suburb of Bloomingdale, Illinois. In addition to his full-time practice, Dr. Nudera speaks nationally and internationally on a variety of Endodontic topics. Dr Nudera currently holds a faculty position in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry. Dr. Nudera is a member of the A.B.E. College of Diplomates, American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, American Association of Implant Dentistry, Illinois Association of Endodontists, Illinois Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society.
