Orthocell Ltd (ASX:OCC, OTC:ORHHF) CEO and managing director Paul Anderson joins Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to talk through a 98.6% success rate in a post-market clinical study examining the effectiveness of its Striate+™ dental membrane in guided bone regeneration for dental implants. The Striate+™, a resorbable collagen membrane, has been validated through this study as a leading solution in bone and tissue regeneration, supporting Orthocell's claim of its product being the best choice for such medical procedures. Anderson highlights the membrane's ability to enable high-quality bone and tissue repair, crucial for functional and aesthetically pleasing outcomes in patients. These results, indicating a notable level of bone formation and stability, were obtained from 99 patients, reinforcing the product's efficacy in real-world applications. Orthocell anticipates that the success of the Striate+™ will enhance its visibility among dental professionals and support BioHorizons, its exclusive global distributor, in increasing the product's market adoption. This development is particularly significant given the estimated annual market potential of more than US$700 million for the Striate+ product. The findings are scheduled for presentation at the European Association for Osseintegration (EAO) annual meeting in October 2024. The study also contributes to the clinical data needed for re-certification of EU market approval under the new European Medical Device Regulations (MDR), following an earlier Post-Market Clinical Follow-up (PMCF) study. #ProactiveInvestors #Orthocell #ASX #OTC #DentalImplants, #BoneRegeneration, #StriatePlus, #DentalSurgery, #MedicalDevices, #ClinicalStudy, #TissueRepair, #BioHorizons, #EAO2024, #DentalHealth, #GuidedBoneRegeneration, #CollagenMembrane, #DentalCare, #Osseointegration, #EURegulations, #MedicalResearch, #HealthcareInnovation, #PatientCare, #MedicalTechnology #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

It is not a replacement for a tooth, because teeth are still the best, but the next best thing for a missing space at least, are IMPLANTS. Now, implants can get very complicated, different stages, surgical, restorative, but the very initial stages is all to do with ossteointegration, which is essentially, in a crude way to describe it, would be the fusing of the implant to a patient's bone. Jaz's Introduction:Or as I like to call it, how long it takes for the implant to cook, so it's ready to accept load. Today on the show, I've got Dr. Pav Khaira on again, he's our resident implant expert and a titanium nerd, and he's going to cover four techniques he uses, and most of these are very quick to act on, very simple, and something that you can apply straight away. One of them does involve you to buy some extra kit, but the reasoning is really solid, and it's something I hadn't heard of before, so it's four ways to BOSST your OSSEOINTEGRATION. That's the success rate overall, and the quality of your osseointegration itself. Like Pav taught me in this episode that most implants, when they're placed, about 56% of the implant is covered by bone, or rather 56% of the implant is actually directly contacting bone. And with his techniques, he's getting that much higher, which he believes results in a longer lasting, more successful implant. So he calls this all super osseointegration. Protrusive Dental PearlNow before we join Pav to reveal those four ways, I've got your Protrusive Dental Pearl. Now please bear with me because I do have an ulcer on the inner side of my upper lip. It's a little bit painful, but the show must go on. And my son is home today because of school holidays. So I'm hoping he doesn't barge in and have to record this all over again, but let's go, let's do our Protrusive Dental Pearl, which is not an implants one. I don't do implants myself, but I can tell you is about COMPOSITE BONDING. Here's a tip I picked up when it comes to anterior composite bonding. You need to evaluate what percentage of your appointment are you going to actually devote to the placement of your composite and what perc...
In this episode of the Podcast I speak with Professor Munjed Al Muderis about a new technology that is allowing amputees to walk again. Osseointegration is the direct structural and functional connection between living bone and the surface of a load-bearing artificial implant. While dental implants have long been standard, surgeons are now starting to use this technology to reconstruct missing limbs. We cover some of the technical details of these kinds of surgeries, the complications, and the difficulties of introducing new medical procedures and therapies. ►Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/YINU7GXkkWw ►For more information about Munjed: https://www.almuderis.com.au/ These conversations are supported by the Andrea von Braun foundation (http://www.avbstiftung.de/), as an exploration of the rich, exciting, connected, scientifically literate, and (most importantly) sustainable future of humanity. The views expressed in these episodes are my own and those of my guests. This episode is the second part of a two part conversation that covers Munjed's world leading work as a surgeon. A key part of this discussion is Munjed's dream of creating a more economically sustainable environment for medicine in Australia.
Here we are again, bringing some flavour to your FRI-YAY! This is one hell of a story, and it might sound a bit familiar! We interviewed Chen and heard her incredible story back in January 2022. The episode was called “Just hold on – my one legged life, with Chen”, we suggest you have a listen. She lost her leg in a horrific car accident in January 2021 and has gone through a whirlwind of emotions, growth, surgeries, pills and all. Most famous quote of Chens is “just waiting on meds” and that is what most of 2021/2022 has been for this gal! She has gone through a huge journey in the 10 months since we last spoke and is having an incredible procedure called osseointegration. It involves inserting a prosthetic implant into the bone of an amputee to which an external prosthetic can attach directly. It's a fascinating procedure, and Chen is doing an incredible job during this journey. We are so proud of Chen, and love keeping up with her life updates. She has the most radiant smile, most incredible mindset and positivity throughout this journey, but is still human at the end of the day and will openly talks about the real struggles of the journey. With the wonders of technology in healthcare come tremendous improvements in patient outcomes and quality of life. On today's episode, we have two phenomenal guests chatting with us about osseointegration in the field of prosthetics, which helps individuals with limb deformities such as amputations move and function more optimally.Haris Kafedzic is an American Board Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist and Eschen's lead Manhattan Prosthetist and Residency Director. Dr. Robert Rozbruch is an orthopedic surgeon, the Chief of the Limb Lengthening and Complex Reconstruction Service since 2005, and Director of the Limb Salvage and Amputation Reconstruction Center at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS). On the show, our guests talk about the role of a prosthetist and an orthopedic surgeon along with the various other practitioners like physical therapists that contribute to a patient's care. They discuss typical patient cases like individuals with leg length discrepancies or limb amputations of all kinds. Currently, the United States' medical system hasn't fully caught up with the advancements in the field of prosthetics, which makes it difficult to refer appropriate patients to the right places. Both Haris and Dr. Rozbruch advocate for building awareness around osseointegration as they celebrate their patients' success stories. Dr. S. Robert Rozbruch, after graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania, attended Weill Medical College of Cornell University from which he graduated with honors in research. The field of dental implantology has been focused on optimal osseointegration for the past couple of decades. With an average success rate of 97%, the collective focus on osseointegration makes sense. But infections still occur, implants are still lost, and there's an increasing need to optimize the process further. Dr. Marcel Kunrath, a clinical researcher and specialist in implant dentistry, has been conducting preclinical research on osseointegration for the Department of Biomaterials at the University of Gothenburg.
