Get ready for a Truly amazing being! This week I will share a little about Rob Mendez! This is one show you won't want to miss! It will help you on so many levels! Rob was born on May 9, 1988, without any arms or legs. Rob did not allow this from stopping his dream to be involved in Football. Rob began playing Football video games at a very early age. After school, he would watch the practices and games of the school Team. The Coach of the Team took notice of Rob and invited him to become the Manager of the Team. This quickly changed as it became evident that Rob's knowledge of the game surpassed many of the Coaches. Also, Rob had an amazing gift for clearly communicating with the Team. Rob's core for his Team are two things...Love and Family. The Players and Team not only learn to love themselves, but they also learn to love their fellow Teammates. Each one is like family to the other - uplifting, encouraging, and supporting each other! Link to a short, but powerful, documentary on Rob. Dustin Plantholt's “Life's Tough, YOU Can Be TOUGHER!” podcast this week features Coach Rob Mendez, head coach of the Prospect High School (CA) junior varsity football team.  During his recent interview with Dustin, Coach Mendez tells of his lifelong passion of football and coaching the sport—even though he has no limbs at all.  Born without arms or legs due to tetra-amelia syndrome—a rare congenital disorder that prevents the formation of limbs during embryonic development—Rob Mendez was never able to play football, but that didn't stop him from pursuing his passion for the game as a coach.  Yet he was always inspired and encouraged by his father Robert Mendez Sr. to not see himself as "special" but as "unique," and "never to focus on what I couldn't do but rather on what I could do." "I am grateful for the work I get to do every day. Coaching my team fills me up in a way unlike anything else. The purpose and fulfillment we get from our jobs positively impacts our lives and our communities." Says Coach Mandez. Coach Mendez is also the author of his recently published book, Who Says I Can't? The Astonishing Story of A Fearless Life. Besides coaching football, Mendez is also a busy and accomplished motivational speaker, and has been the subject of dozens of profiles in national media, as well as the ESPN documentary short feature, "Who Says I Can't? " He will also be partnering with Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin & Metro Chicago in support of their mission to help individuals with disadvantages and different abilities overcome obstacles, find jobs, and achieve their goals To learn more about Coach Rob Mandez, follow him on social media @coachrobmandez and listen to the full episode on the “Life's Tough” podcast network. Dustin Plantholt is founder and CEO of Life's Tough. Surviving a traumatic childhood and now raising a family of his own, he is dedicated to helping others find their voice through sharing their story. Dustin says “Together, we are sparking a movement and changing the world, one heart at a time. It's life … life is tough … but YOU can be TOUGHER!”

Like many people, I was impacted by the quarantine, the uncertainty, and the struggles of COVID-19. But someone inspired me out of my recent rut. Someone who, despite life's challenges and physical limitations, strove to reach his dreams. I describe how Rob Mendez uses love as a tool to coach his team and why you need to commit to loving and honoring yourself. I also explain how having coaches and mentors can help you develop yourself and discuss how life's challenges and hurdles can teach us to be better.   “The sign of a true champion is trusting your abilities and greatness without being complacent. In WIT IT/QUIT IT producer JOHN HELLER finds out where JOY stands on MIKE MCCARTHY as the new co-leader of America’s Team and TOM BRADY’s possible swan song. In PETTY COURT you’ll find KIRK COUSINS. Do you like that? Either way, you are PETTY fr fr! HIGH KEY at least 75% of sports fans probably googled JOE JUDGE today after the GIANTS named him as their head coach, LOW KEY they probably wanted to hire MATT RHULE but the PANTHERS got him. HIGH KEY the BROWNS are still without coach, but LOW KEY they’re probably waiting on ROBERT SALEH, who has a chain wallet, figuratively speaking. The number one LOSER in the LOSER POWER RANKINGS is the notion of dynasties in sports. Man, it’s been a rough year for dynasties. The PATRIOTS didn’t win the SUPER BOWL, the WARRIORS whole team is injured, the SPURS are getting worse, GAME OF THRONES ended, etc. etc. Also, SEAN MCDERMOTT and all seventy-two DOLPHINS HATERS are in here, too. In the MIGOS CULTURE REPORT, T breaks down the COACHELLA lineup and shares her personal experience at BEYCHELLA. JOY and T also have some thoughts on ELTON JOHN, TOM HANKS and more from the GOLDEN GLOBES. Big shouts to AMANDA SEALES for joining the cast of THE REAL on a full-time basis. Stick around for JOY's full DIVISIONAL WEEKEND picks. Preciate y'all!
