On episode 279 of Business Coaching Secrets we dive deep into strategic ways to establish authority and credibility in your business using awards, local networking, and effective advertising. Join hosts Karl Bryan and Rode Dog as they unpack powerful insights to help you scale your coaching practice and attract high-paying clients. Here are three key takeaways from this episode: Create Your Own Awards and Comparisons Establish credibility and authority by creating local business awards or ranking lists. Think of the impact the MTV Awards or ESPYs have on their industries. Even if fabricated, well-presented awards can significantly boost your market presence. Strengthen Your Networking Game Move beyond traditional networking groups like BNI and explore high-level opportunities at golf clubs, yacht clubs, and local live events. Companies sponsoring local events are valuable contacts, showcasing a willingness to invest in marketing and growth. Master Advertising and Social Media Engagement Advertising isn't just about getting your name out there; it's about strategic engagement. Focus on consistent, detailed social media interactions ("your two cents, ninety times a day") and tailor your advertising to what your clients want: new opportunities and solutions, not just incremental improvements. Sydney Moore is a Division 1 Volleyball player at Syracuse University pursuing her master's in marketing. Before Syracuse, Sydney was a senior captain at Cornell University where she majored in psychology with a focus in neuroscience and human development. Her initial love was basketball but as the pressure increased, her confidence decreased and her motivation to improve became fear based, she found volleyball as a refreshing change. As her understanding of health and wellness grew, so did her interest in pursuing information for herself and others. Sydney created a video podcast titled, “Let's Talk About It” which discusses and advocates for important topics that affect student-athletes such as mental health, gender equity, going pro, and more. In 2022 Sydney was awarded the Billie Jean King Youth Leadership Award at the ESPYs for her work to introduce the Fair Play for Women Act into Congress and was named one of Glamour Magazine's College Women of the Year 2023. Sydney discusses her own process and passion that embodies the characteristics for which she has been recognized including intelligence, bravery, confidence and compassion. She has worked so hard to find her own voice and is using that voice to empower other female athletes. @ssydney.mmoore

Former Michigan State University and ex-USA Gymnastics Larry Nassar is serving upwards of 175 years in prison after admitting to molesting some of the nation's top gymnasts for years under the guise of medical treatment. The founder of the Army of Survivors movement, Grace has dedicated her life to changing the culture of sport, consent, and institutional accountability to make sure that no one has to endure sexual violence or abuse. Show notes: Sexual assault is not your fault. If you need to talk, reach out to the National Sexual Assault Hotline at any time at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) or visit rainn.org, that's R-A-I-N-N dot O-R-G. She serves as an Advisory Board member for Safe Sport International as well as the International Safeguard for Children in Sport. Grace has worked on the expert advisory committees for several global projects with the likes of FIFA, the International Olympic Committee, World Players Associations, and the Sports & Rights Alliance. 8x World SUP Champion, inspired windsurfer, kitesurfer, foiler, big wave surfer, waterman, and Red Bull athlete, Kai Lenny, joins us on the pod. After at least a 16 hour flight with his two-year-old twin toddlers, and a pit stop in LA to accept the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award on behalf of the Maui community at the ESPYs, Kai joins the Lineup with Dave to discuss season 4 of his biopic with Red Bull, Life of Kai. He explains his strongest gut feeling he's ever had to wear a helmet at Pipe, the very same helmet that ended up saving his life earlier this year. Kai dives deeper into his injuries, the importance of taking tabs on your mental health, and one of the most bizarre micro concussions he's ever experienced after a wipeout at Jaws in 2018. He and Dave muse over the big wave pioneers, like Shane Dorian, Ian Walsh, and Laird Hamilton, and how their contributions to the sport helped pave the road for the next generation to become even better than their predecessors. He also talks about how being a father makes him more calculated about when he decides to paddle out into big waves, the importance of confidence, and how that is the true talent of every champion in every sport. He reflects back on how exciting it was to be on the ground at Trestles for the WSL Finals in 2023, watching the best surfers in the world compete for the Title, and how stoked he is on the next generation of young girls, like Erin Brooks, Sierra Kerr, Molly Picklum and Caity Simmers charging waves of consequence. Kai argues that best big wave surfers in the world are often great small waves surfers and proposes that Jaws be included as a floating event on the CT before he closes the pod by answering listener questions and the Lightning Round. We've entered the TKO phase of Biden's campaign as he had a full day of events Thursday but the only thing anyone heard was him calling Zelensky "President Putin" and calling Kamala "Vice President Trump." What a clown show and while he may be digging in, they're doing research on whether the VP has a better shot at beating Trump. Mayor Q should pipe down for awhile after trying to weasel his way to the big time by posting about his phone call with Biden and other smoochy butt things. He's become a national embarrassment on social media and even Elon Musk is commenting on Q's quirks. Alec Baldwin is in real trouble in his manslaughter trial... wait until you hear what he was doing when police arrived on the movie set where he killed his cinematographer. Andy Reid fills in for Patrick Mahomes as QB1 skips the ESPYS. www.dannyclinkscale.com joined us on a patron pod and we'll play a clip of us discussing the quarterbacks at MU, KSU and KU. The Pac 12 has media days in a bar with free drinks as they all "deserve" to get drunk and the composer of the longest running sports theme song ever has died.
Hour 1 The Mets keep rolling and the Yankees keep losing but Boomer is declaring today, ‘Jalen Brunson Day'. The Knicks can sign him to an extension starting today and Boomer sees that happening. Yesterday Boomer & Gio went to the Mets game with their kids and grandkids. A foul ball was hit into the box and it hit Boomer's nephew in the leg (he is an adult with a child of his own). Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the Yankees losing to the Rays again. They have now lost 8 straight series. Aaron Judge has been ice cold of late. The Mets beat the Nationals as Brandon Nimmo had another big hit. He wants the Mets to be buyers at the trade deadline. Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes was removed from a no-hitter after 7 because he was at 99 pitches. Aaron Rodgers said he can't wait to play with Davante Adams again, which seems odd. Roger Goodell was on CNBC to talk about the Sunday Ticket lawsuit. Monte Kiffin passed away at 84. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Shohei Ohtani stealing a base against the Phillies and then doing a very strange gesture with his batting glove and his crotch. Gio called it, ‘air cranking'. Hour 2 Aaron Rodgers was asked about Davante Adams and he said he ‘can't wait to play with him again'. Gio wonders what that means. Has he told the Jets to get Devante Adams even though they can't because he's on the Raiders? Maybe he threw it out there because he loves getting a reaction. Maybe he's so down on the Jets that he wants to play QB with the Raiders. Maybe he just said that without thinking about it at all. Or maybe he was talking about playing golf with him again. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Yankees losing to the Rays again. That 8 straight series losses for the Yankees. Juan Soto was 2-for-3 with a HR and double in the loss. The Mets beat the Nationals again and Brandon Nimmo had another big hit. Paul Skenes was removed from the Pirates game after 7 no-hit innings because he was ‘tired' and threw 99 pitches. Bill Belichick is joining ‘Inside The NFL' on the CW. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Cam Newton being surprised that he wasn't invited to Christian McCaffrey's wedding. McCaffrey responded by saying he hasn't gotten a text back from Cam in years. Hour 3 Boomer is excited for Fanatics Fest and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin will be in studio on Wednesday to talk about that. Gio wonders who's doing radio play by play for the Yankees when the playoffs start. Boomer thinks the guy that will work the cheapest will get the playoff games. Gio said it has to be somebody who's done playoff games before. Gio said Brendan Burke or Rickie Ricardo. Boomer doesn't think it would be right to take Rickie off the spanish language broadcast during the playoffs. These are radio calls that could live on forever, so Gio would go with a more ‘seasoned' broadcaster. Jerry returns for an update, but first we talked about how awkward it must be if you have to use a cpap machine when you're dating. We also talked about Mark Chernoff making us share rooms when on the road or on snow days. Jerry has a great clip of Nikki Glaser from the ESPYs. In the final segment of the hour, some people are saying that when Rodgers said he can't wait to play with Davante Adams again, he said ‘on Saturday'. But that's a different voice, not Rodgers. A caller wonders why Boomer didn't take more time off the clock in his Super Bowl before giving the ball back to Joe Montana. Hour 4 Boomer thinks today will be ‘Jalen Brunson Day', as he expects the Knicks to sign him to an extension today. The Yankees lost their 8th straight series and started an important one tonight against the Orioles in Baltimore before the all star break. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the audio of Aaron Rodgers saying he can't wait to play with Davante Adams again. Tyreek Hill took to Instagram with his top 5 QBs in the league and he included Baker Mayfield. Hill is having his fifth child…this year! The Yankees lost to the Rays again and have dropped 8 straight series. The Yanks are 7-18 in their last 25 games. The Mets shutout the Nationals 7-0 as Brandon Nimmo had a bases clearing double. The Moment of The Day involves Al's solution for who will do the Yankees radio broadcast for the playoffs. In the final segment of the week, we talked about going to the Mets game yesterday with our kids and grandkids.
