The Cover 2 podcast from the Akron Beacon Journal is coming to a close. Well, at least for hosts Nate Ulrich and Dan Kadar. Nate is transitioning off the Browns beat full to focus on writing in-depth features on Northeast Ohio athletes from all walks of life. The exact date it started is nebulous, but the podcast has gone several hundred episodes covering the good and mostly bad of the Browns — with plenty of movie and food takes sprinkled in. The final episode from Nate and Dan is a retrospective of sorts. Get your tissues. Here's a little bit of what was talked about on this episode: - Nate details his most memorable games while on the Browns beat for the past 12 years. That includes some love for Brian Hoyer, Baker Mayfield's debut in 2018 and the helmet swing heard around the world by Myles Garrett. - Nate explains why veteran Browns left guard Joel Bitonio was among his most favorite players to cover over the years. - What are the Brownsiest Browns moments since 2010? The Johnny Manziel saga that included a helicopter searching for him? The team going 1-31? Josh Gordon's numerous suspensions? Beyond all that, there is something more recently that sticks out that defines "Browns is Browns." - We couldn't let Nate off the beat until he makes a prediction for how the Browns will do in 2022. Of course, that comes with caveats based on whether or not quarterback Deshaun Watson will get suspended, and for how long. This episode closes with some heartfelt and earned recognitions
Thoughts on Freddie Kitchens and other previous Browns head coaches. Would any former Browns head coach like Kitchens and Hue Jackson take the Browns job again? Listen to The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima weekday mornings 6-10am on Sports Radio 92.3 The Fan and the Audacy App!

The Brodies are here again to discuss the 2021-2022 season of the New York Giants. They start by talking about Joe Judge, Freddie Kitchens, and the coaching staff of the Giants. Then they get to Daniel Jones aka Danny Dimes and if he is going to be the future at QB for the Giants. Finally, they look at the roster to evaluate where they have any roster depth after the mismanagement of the roster by David Gettleman. As always, Theme music by The Riley Brothers Band. Baker Mayfield and the Browns were playing for pride on Monday night, and the quarterback of Cleveland's football team, was, in a way, interviewing for his current job. The guys are back talking all things New York Football Giants, and talking winning football games! Coming in to the year the expectations were that Patrick Graham would have this defense playing lights out. While that hasn't always been the case, Sunday was an example of experience and talent being confusion and mistakes to Eagles QB Jalen Hurts. Julian Love played solid football in a larger role with the absence of Logan Ryan, and rookie Aaron Robinson showed flashed of why the Giants targeted him in the draft. Opportunistic, timely plays helped Big Blue hold Philadelphia to just 7 points. On the other side... Freddie Kitchens certainly wanted to be more explosive in his first game calling plays, but there were several plays that have the guys feeling good about the evolving direction of the Offense. Adam does take a moment to highlight that there were issues in personal that do not simply go away after a coaching change and that played out on Sunday. Finally, the playoffs! There is one wildcard position within reasonable reach for the Giants, but as Adam explains it will be a very narrow path to travel though the road still remains open! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/onegiantpodcast/message

After the Hue Jackson and Sashi Brown debacle, the Browns were finally starting to work their way up from rock bottom. What's up, Browns fans! What a wild week of training camp and joint practices. We had fights, good days, bad days, and it's almost difficult to remember what happened yesterday and what happened two weeks ago. Either way, it all culminated with another Browns preseason victory over the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon. Freddie Kitchens still can't win a game in First Energy Stadium. We recap our reactions and takeaways from the game, and then we move into the second half of our 2021 season schedule predictions. With very few losses to predict in the first half of the season, do things stay the same in the second half, or do the Browns start losing a few more games? We walk through our predictions against the Bengals, Patriots, Lions, Ravens (x2), Raiders, Packers, Steelers, and Bengals to wrap up 2021. So where do we all come in on the Browns 2021 record, and how did the final fan vote tally up? Again, we thank everyone who participated in the schedule predictions at www.thedawgs.com. Next on the slate is the final preseason matchup against the Falcons in Atlanta on Sunday night. What's up, Browns fans! Josh Allen just got a BAG of money, so the quarterback contract race is on. Who will be next, Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield, or Josh Rosen? All kidding aside, we break down what the Buffalo Bills' QB's new pricetag could mean for the Browns and Baker Mayfield. We have another week of training camp news and notes to dissect. Not to mention the football season has officially begun with the Hall of Fame game on Thursday night. The Squeelers played, so there wasn't much to see, but it was great to have actual football (kind of) nonetheless. We talk about some of the key players standing out at camp right now. One is a guy we've been high on all offseason. The other is a guy we called a cut candidate only a few weeks ago. And finally, we dive into some listener mailbag voicemails and social media comments. One question we consider is whether or not we should beware the hype after what happened in 2019.
