Host StevenMcClurg and Founder of Tron , Justin Sun, meet over zoom for an episode discussing all things Blockchain. The two discuss meeting at Satoshi Roundtable in Mexico, and how the event was affected by the Covid-19 virus. Sun explains how he got into Bitcoin back in 2013, and the inaccessibility of the cryptocurrency in China back at that time. He shares how he would bring cash to McDonalds in exchange for Bitcoin, and how it felt like an illegal drug deal. He bought his first bitcoin at around 50 cents, and became distracted from studying for the LSAT Test. While his parents warned him to stay focused on his studies, bitcoin rose to one dollar. He continued focusing on Bitcoin, and gave up law school. “Then, it went up to $1,000, which was beyond my wildest dreams”, he says, “I started to realize the response of serious people building our industry.” “Justin wanted to be a lawyer, Bitcoin fixes that.” McClurg says. McClurg was also planning to go to law school, but decided he would rather study behavioral economics instead. He found an opportunity to apply that to finance, and even crypto. McClurg asks Sun to share his expectations from the future, “Eventually, lots of countries will take bitcoin as a reserve. Bitcoin is very neutral and everybody can get bitcoin and protect their assets from inflation.” He continues, with Aliens in mind. Sun predicts that if aliens are around, they use Bitcoin. “You don't need to know anything about human knowledge to know Bitcoin, you only need to know math.” The two discuss the GameFi industry in terms of blockchain technology, how far it has come, and the opportunities that have arisen in international (including metaverse) adoption. McClurg and Sun close out the episode with more conversations of NFTs, GameFi, the future of Tron, and more. Don't miss the full episode!

In this episode: About Bruce's company Chainstone labs How the Bitcoin Roundtable is intertwined with Bitcoin history and the blocksize debate Coinbase's ongoing rapprochement with Bitcoiners Why longevity is so difficult in the crypto industry Are we living in the most historically aggressive period in terms of regulatory oversight into the industry? Why Bitcoin isn't sufficient to resist the state alone – and what tools are part of that toolkit Why the US should consider disrupting itself with regards to managing the world's financial system Why some people like security tokens for the wrong reasons The logistical advantages of tokenizing a security How security tokens could open up mid-size businesses which don't have access to capital markets

video: https://youtu.be/0-ogU3s2StM As our lives get further thrust into the digital realm, what we need more than ever is robust digital security to protect the increased activity we’re doing online. Unfortunately we're actually going backwards. Surveillance has become normalized, and people were never given the opportunity to opt in to this increased tracking. This is what Adam Back, Blockstream CEO, said in an interview with me at the Satoshi Roundtable earlier this year. Unfortunately the internet is not nearly private enough, and not nearly decentralized enough. To help solve this, his company built a Satellite that gives people more privacy for their bitcoin transactions and also helps freedom of speech. Adam and I discuss how the Satellite works, why it's important, and whether it is possible to take back control of the internet and try to preserve some private space in our digital lives. Jameson Lopp, Casa Cofounder & CTO, joins Charlie Shrem on this week’s episode of Untold Stories. They begin by discussing the importance of nodes, both as a measure of decentralization and for maintaining self-sovereignty in Bitcoin. They continue on to discuss coin tracking, exchanges requiring public keys, and how people are willing to give up privacy and security for the sake of convenience. Jameson explains how Casa is really a personal sovereignty company helping people with custody of private keys and running their own nodes. Jameson explains how his extensive writings in the Bitcoin space are how he's cataloging his own education. This leads to the question of who's responsible for Bitcoin in a crypto-anarchy form of governance. Charlie asks about the scaling debate and Jameson discusses getting SWATted which brings up Jameson's list of actions to improve personal security and privacy. The finish up by talking about Virtual Reality, gaming, Mensa, and the Satoshi Roundtable. --- BitPay gives you the tools to live life on crypto. video: https://youtu.be/1ZZG_ZmZeLI Justin Sun placed the winning charity bid for a lunch with Warren Buffett: $4.5 MILLION dollars. Every major media outlet in the country was talking about it and about bitcoin, which was an incredible publicity coup. Then a few weeks ago the lunch finally took place, so I sat down for an exclusive interview with Justin Sun at the Satoshi Roundtable to answer my 4.5 million questions: Did they eat gilded caviar? Was there juicy gossip? Does Buffett still think Bitcoin is rat poison squared and a "delusion"? Was it a buffet with Buffett? All of these questions were answered, plus I got the low-down on how Buffett really feels about Bitcoin. I also talk about what really happens at the Satoshi Roundtable each year, an event that is often shrouded in mystery but is hands down the best event that I attend each year. I fund my channel entirely with community support. If you'd like to donate, you will find my cryptocurrency addresses at: cointr.ee/NaomiBrockwell

I had the chance to interview one of the greatest crypto artists of all time, Cryptograffiti. We discussed his latest work and what motivates him in the space. You can find his work at: https://cryptograffiti.com Twitter: @cryptograffiti cryptograffiti has been creating cryptocurrency-related art since 2012. His work is dedicated to spreading the crypto movement. cryptograffiti was the first to explore how cryptocurrencies could benefit artists through alternative revenue channels. In one such experiment, he juxtaposed a public-facing wallet with street art allowing passersby to send bitcoin in support of the pieces. cryptograffiti’s current work repurposes materials from industries being disrupted by the blockchain. These materials will shortly become scarce even though the monetary systems from which they were derived are not. By incorporating these soon-to-be extinct artifacts in his work, he teaches others about the advantages of cryptocurrencies vs the status quo banking sector. Looking forward, he is excited at how blockchain technology will transform the art world and to play a role in leading this new direction. cryptograffiti’s work has been featured in Bloomberg, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, International Business Times, VICE, CNNMoney, Bitcoin Magazine, CoinDesk, Art Daily, World Crypto Network, Bitcoin.com, CoinJournal, CryptoCoinsNews, CoinTelegraph, Bitcoinist, Inside Bitcoins, Free Talk Live, The Tatiana Show, SF Weekly and other media outlets. He has exhibited at Satoshi Roundtable, CoinDesk Consensus, CoinDesk Construct, LaBitConf, Coin Center's Annual Dinner, The d10e Conference, Digital Garage’s New Context Conference, Distributed, The Blockchain Supper Club, BlockCon, Proof of Art, and Blockchain for Good. His work is in the collections of Blockstream, Ledger, Blockchain Capital, Kraken, Pantera Capital, Shapeshift, Binary Financial, Digital Currency Group, Wachsman PR, Ribbit Capital, Xapo, eToro, The Montreal Bitcoin Embassy, TokenSoft, Jesse Powell, Wences Casares, Matthew Roszak, Brock Pierce, Erik Voorhees, Dan Morehead, WhalePanda, Brad & Bart Stephens, Jill Carlson, Marc Andreessen, Matt Corallo, Brian Hoffman, Charlie Shrem, Mike Novogratz, Linda Xie, Samson Mow, Francis Pouliot, Ted Rogers, Jason King, Marshall Hayner, and other notable figures within the space.
The Satoshi Roundtable is often unnecessarily shrouded in mystery. As I write this, bitcoin is trading at $8,600. That's down more than 50% from the December highs of $20,000. But is this selloff a natural correction, or something to be worried about? That's one of the questions I ask my guest Tama Churchouse in today's podcast. Tama was an investment banker for a decade, most recently with JPMorgan. Then he went on to manage a family office. And in 2013, he started buying and learning about bitcoin. He started writing a small note to friends and family about the crypto market and it caught on. He decided to make it a full-time job. And that's led Tama to become one of the most connected writers/investors in the crypto space. He actually just returned from one of the most exclusive crypto gatherings in the world… It's called the Satoshi Roundtable. It's invitation only and about 100 people make the cut. The attendees are CEOs of major crypto firms and some of the core developers for major cryptos - it's the who's who of the industry. Tama was invited because he serves on the board of one of the top blockchain firms in the world. And during our discussion, he shares a few insights from what he heard in these closed-door meetings (and how these leaders in the field, many of whom are billionaires, feel about the crypto selloff). Tama also explains why he thinks bitcoin is here to stay, but why 95% of all cryptos will ultimately be worth zero. As you know, I've been writing a lot this year about avoiding big mistakes. We discuss this in regard to crypto and Tama shares what he thinks is the easiest way to avoid making big mistakes in the sector. And, of course, Tama and I share what we think 2018 holds for the crypto market (his view on this is great - it's something I hadn't heard before). This is one of the best podcasts I've recorded in awhile. And I'd encourage you all to check it out. I always tell people to learn as much as possible about crypto before buying even one cent of bitcoin. And I guarantee you'll leave this podcast better-educated and more informed on the crypto space. You can tune in here.

At the Satoshi Roundtable in Cancun this year I got to sit down with the amazing Ron Paul and discuss why cryptocurrency is important. Dr Paul is a hero of the liberty movement especially because of the work he's done to spread awareness about the problems of government-controlled money and the federal reserve, so he is a huge inspiration for many of those involved with cryptocurrency. It was amazing to have him with us at the roundtable. Huge thank you to Zap.org for helping secure the interview! The "vibe" around Bitcoin has been neutral to negative for two years now and plenty of bitcoiners are tiring of the politics around the block size limit. Ethereum is young and exciting but not like anything else in the crypto space. A recurring theme at the Satoshi Roundtable is that Bitcoin problems are leading to rise in Ethereum interest. Enter our guest this week, Anthony Di Iorio, CEO and founder of Jaxx and Decentral, who co-founded Ethereum in 2013. Jaxx and ShapeShift together will, without doubt, be the easiest solution for buying ether with bitcoin (and vice versa) ‒ and it's done right in your Jaxx wallet.
Hello, welcome to episode 35 of The Bitcoin Game. I'm Rob Mitchell. In today's episode I speak with BTCC's COO Samson Mow, who attended the Bitcoin Roundtable in Hong Kong. Then I speak with Joseph VaughnPerling, who attended the 2016 Satoshi Roundtable. And at the end of the show, I put together a little something based on Samson's dramatic tweets from the Bitcoin Roundtable. Please let me know if you enjoy it. Hello, welcome to episode 27 of The Bitcoin Game, I'm Rob Mitchell. I've been a podcast listener for many years now, so when I got interested in Bitcoin, listening to Bitcoin podcasts was a natural. I think Adam B. Levine launched The Daily Bitcoin the same day I first searched for Bitcoin podcasts. And I've been hooked on Bitcoin podcasts ever since. Bitcoins and Gravy has always been a hugely influential show for me. In a sea of podcasts with poor audio quality and barely existent production values, Bitcoins and Gravy sounded as well-produced as any podcast I'd ever heard. Even the short musical pieces between segments were done to perfection. John also experimented with characters and fictional entertainment on some episodes, which really helped Bitcoins and Gravy stand out as something a bit different. Even after spending time with John at the 2015 Texas Bitcoin Conference, I still find he reverts back to a larger-than-life persona when I listen to him podcast. When I realized John Barrett missed releasing the August 9, 2015, episode of Bitcoins and Gravy, I really took notice. I checked in with John, wanting to make sure he was okay. He said he was, but that he was moving to every other week. But then a couple more weeks went by, and still no new episodes appeared. It was clear something was up, and I was happy he agreed to be on my show. We spoke for almost two and a half hours, everything from light-hearted talk to John's very strong views about various subjects. While I thought we'd be bantering more, John really takes a subject and runs with it. Fans of John Barrett and Bitcoins and Gravy won't want to miss this episode.
