We cover stablecoin competition for Hyperliquid partnerships, Justin Sun's frozen WFLI tokens, and Nasdaq's tokenized equities. With Ethereum leading in asset tokenization, they also reflect on lost SEC Chair Gensler's texts and the rise of DAOs, alongside major moves from Fidelity and Robinhood. —-

In this episode of the Friday Five, Bitcoin is once again at the center of global attention. The Federal Reserve highlighted stablecoins and tokenization at its latest conference, while the SEC and CFTC issued a rare joint statement on spot crypto trading, signaling tighter regulatory oversight ahead. Meanwhile, Trump-linked ventures are making waves: World Liberty Financial (WLFI) is pitching a vision of crypto-driven wealth, even blacklisting Justin Sun's wallet, while the Trump-backed American Bitcoin (ABTC) mining IPO was halted after wild volatility. On another front, Polymarket has relaunched in the U.S., bringing decentralized prediction markets back into play with a compliance-first strategy. From Washington's regulatory moves to Trump's crypto empire and market infrastructure shifts, Bitcoin's role in politics, finance, and adoption has never been more front and center.

The team dissects World Liberty Financial's explosive debut: a $22B token backed by the Trump family, a disputed Aave partnership, insider buybacks, and a “gold paper” instead of a whitepaper. We break down Justin Sun's role, why critics call it crypto's “garbage moat,” and how WLFi could become the Thanksgiving dinner debate of 2025. Plus: Gavin Newsom's meme coin tease, GDP data going on-chain, and the CFTC reopening U.S. markets to global exchanges. Welcome to The Chopping Block – where crypto insiders Haseeb Qureshi, Tom Schmidt, Tarun Chitra, and Robert Leshner chop it up about the latest in crypto. This week, the crew dives into the wild debut of World Liberty Financial — Trump's $22B DeFi token that launched with a “gold paper,” insider allocations, and buybacks despite no product. We break down the Trump family's $5B paper fortune, the disputed Aave deal, and whether WLFi is a serious stablecoin project or just another garbage fire in crypto's moat. From Justin Sun's backing to Thanksgiving dinner debates, we unpack what WLFi means for politics, memes, and markets. Then we zoom out to Gavin Newsom's meme coin tease, the U.S. Commerce Department posting GDP on-chain, and fresh CFTC moves that could reshape crypto exchanges and ETFs. Show highlights

It's been a minute, but we're back with our Round-Up episode, where we parse and discuss some of the biggest stories going on around the art world, and it's really good to be back into this format again after a little commercial break. A lot has been happening lately in the so-called art world—good, bad, and there's been plenty of in-between that—but it remains as colorful, contradictory, and chaotic as ever. We'll be diving into crypto collector Justin Sun's escalating legal battle with Blue Chip Titan David Geffen over a long-nosed Giacometti sculpture; a trio of massive Hulk sculptures by Jeff Koons that descended on Frieze New York a couple of weeks ago—these big green bellwethers for the state of the market are in play; and finally, we'll look at some of the major developments at Art Basel, including the launch of its very first art award. Senior Editor Kate Brown is joined by co-host, art critic Ben Davis, and Artnet News Pro Editor Andrew Russeth.

Today's Headlines: On Wednesday night, a shooting outside the Capitol Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. left two dead following a multifaith event focused on Gaza. The suspect, Elias Rodriguez, reportedly told attendees he acted “for Palestine” before being arrested. The DOJ is weighing terrorism and hate crime charges. Separately, newly revealed Hamas documents confirm the October 7 attacks were aimed at sabotaging Israel-Saudi peace talks. Meanwhile, the House narrowly passed Trump's sweeping “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” extending 2017 tax cuts, cutting green energy incentives, and tightening welfare requirements. In education, the Trump administration moved to block Harvard from enrolling international students, potentially prompting legal action. The Supreme Court issued two major rulings—blocking Oklahoma's religious charter school due to a 4–4 tie, and granting Trump more power to fire independent agency members, though not the Fed chair. NOAA forecasts a severe hurricane season, and the FDA will limit COVID vaccine availability this fall to high-risk groups due to new testing rules. Lastly, Trump hosted a White House dinner for his $TRUMP coin holders—most of them foreign, including controversial crypto figure Justin Sun. David Waldman delivers us to the end of the month, and yes, the end of the week. KITM's superpower is to not work on weekends. You don't see Donald K. Trump work weekends, or weekdays. It's too much work for him to remember what he said yesterday. Elon Musk is the go-getter, destroying civilization, trolling billions, uploading federal grants with one hand and downloading IVF deposits with the other. Or perhaps the “real power” behind the autocoup is the “husband” and “wife” team of Stephen and Katie Miller. That would explain a lot of things. Chinese crypto guy Justin Sun paid up front on his fraud case, so now the SEC can discover new priorities. (That's all chump crypto change to North Korea) The FBI raids the EPA without probable cause because that isn't really needed for a shakedown. Meanwhile, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin has cracked the case of 40 tons of gold bars shoplifted from Fort Knox. That would seem hard to believe until you consider Donald K. Trump flushed a billion down the toilet to own the EV Libs… and if you think that's “shocking”, consider that Elon Musk is flushing an entire EV car company down the toilet to own the EV Libs. Ace KITM Correspondent Rosalyn MacGregor reports on the one business booming lately, IUD procedures! Russia Russia Russia put the K in Donald K. Trump. That's some of why he was impeached that one time, maybe both. Remember when Trump tried to intimidate and extort Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and blame Ukraine, not Russia for… Oh, hold on, I see that he is doing it again as I type this. I'll have to stop, or my summary will run right into Monday's!
