Abigail Linville, Director of Collections + Exhibitions for the Andy Griffith Museum in Mt. Airy, NC joins the show to share about the museum as well as her very good friend Betty Lynn (otherwise known as "Thelma Lou," the girlfriend of Barney Fife on the Andy Griffith Show). Ms. Lynn passed away recently; for several years, she had appeared at the museum once a month to speak with fans and take pictures. We've got Thelma Lou!!! I screamed this the other day when we booked the beautiful and talented Betty Lynn of Andy Griffith fame for our TV trivia show “Wait, I Know This!” (http://www.waitiknowthis.com/) Betty is best remembered for her role as the sweet, small town beauty who had the patience of a saint to love the bumbling Barney Fife. Thelma Lou was breaking hearts of guys all over the country and who could blame them, what a cutie! I have to admit… your wanna be host here had a major crush of Thelma Lou.

She also has two golden retriever therapy dogs, Martha and Thelma Lou, who come in to help struggling readers. Once a month, a group of other therapy dogs from greyhounds to goldendoodles join them for their "Sit! Stay! Read!" event. Trudy talked to host Peter Medlin about how her therapy dog program and how Martha and Thelma Lou sometimes get to offer emotional support for students on top of the reading help.
