Never Sit On Two Chairs ഒരിക്കലും രണ്ട് കസേരകളിൽ ഇരിക്കരുത് | Br.Damien Antony | Morning Glory Episode 1403
We respect the mission of Two Chairs because we believe that human potential relies on individuals remaining mentally strong. Enter Alex Katz. He has a clear vision for company growth and expansion, deeply rooted in his personal experiences and commitment to improving mental health care. But this is not just about access, the systems are highly sophisticated to introduce the patient to the right therapist based on personalized matching factors. Alex emphasizes the importance of building a strong foundation before scaling, particularly in healthcare, where patient outcomes are critical. His approach involves investing in the right clinical culture and technology, ensuring that the company stays true to its core values of patient and clinician care while attracting aligned investors. As Two Chairs has grown to connect around 600 therapists with clients - and these are employees, not an independent network so they are verified and aligned with the brand. Alex aspires to expand the company's reach across multiple states, addressing the mental health crisis on a larger scale and making quality care accessible to more communities. Highlights of our conversation: - Two Chairs aims to expand to help more people by making it easier to find the right therapist. In fact, 98% of clients find the right therapist on the first try. - The matching algorithm used by Two Chairs considers therapist identity, clinical expertise, therapeutic style, and logistical factors to ensure patient satisfaction. - Two Chairs is proud to have diverse, multi-lingual, multicultural therapists that are direct employees. - Alex discusses the barriers to accessing therapy and mental health services across states due to licensing restrictions and discusses future changes in the health space. Currently they serve California, Florida, and Washington. - Founder support networks are crucial for navigating the challenges of leadership, as highlighted by Alex in the success of Two Chairs. Alex Katz is the Founder and CEO of Two Chairs, an innovative multi-state outpatient mental health system. Prior to founding Two Chairs, Alex led the Consumer Goods group at Palantir Technologies and served large health systems at McKinsey & Company, where he gained an appreciation for the barriers to getting great care within the existing U.S. healthcare system. He received his M.S. and B.A. from Stanford University. Mental health startup funding remains stable as demand for therapy rises. U.S. mental health spending reached around $280 billion in 2020 and continues to grow, with an increasing number of adults receiving therapy annually. Since 2020, investments in mental health startups have surged, particularly for telehealth, AI-enabled platforms, and targeted services for specific groups. Recent investments emphasize insurance-covered care, as seen with Talkiatry securing $130 million, Grow Therapy raising $88 million, and Brightside Health getting $33 million. Startups like Two Chairs and InStride Health focus on better therapist-patient matching and specialized care. However, legal issues faced by companies like Done and Cerebral highlight operational risks in the sector. Despite these challenges, high demand continues to drive the market.Learn more on this news visit us at: https://greyjournal.net/news/ Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
What is worth $11 billion and wants to go to Mars to collect rocks? NASA's mission to Mars to collect rocks that was expected to cost $11 billion and take ages. So, the U.S. space agency is throwing the doors open to get more input, and that means that startups are looking at an opportunity that is truly out of this world. But that's not the only thing going on. Today's Equity episode is focused on all things startups, which means we also got to chat through Two Chairs' recent and massive Series C, Quilt's heat pump work and fundraise, and several IPO updates. Here's hoping that after Ibotta and Rubrik get out the door, more IPOs follow. Also on the show today was a grip of venture capital news. Bay Bridge Ventures is raising a $200 million climate fund — it has lots of good company there, given rising LP interest in climatetech more generally — and a SpaceX alum is building a new VC firm that we covered. To close, the massive, gobsmackingly big $7.2 billion worth of new funds from a16z. We dug into their breakdown on the podcast, but the short version is that it appears that the venture slowdown has not managed to impede the venture firm's golden touch when it comes to fundraising. I couldn't be more excited to introduce you to this week's guest on Chiseled! If you have never heard of Bob Beaudine, you're in for some high-energy inspiration! The president and CEO of Eastman-Beaudine, Bob got started in brand management for Carnation (Nestlé) before joining his father in the executive search industry. Executive recruiting may be familiar to you now, but it was a new industry when Bob got started and he took it to a whole other level. How?"(My dad) wanted to know where I was going, and I said, 'When I do a search for a president of a manufacturing company, at the end of the search I get a tour of the plant. If I did the head of marketing for the NBA, we'd get an All-Star weekend." Bob's first executive placement was Bud Selig as commissioner of Major League Baseball. Since then, his hunt to find the one special person to fire up an executive team has led him to interview generals, U.S. presidents, college presidents, and of course, professional athletes, and team managers. Today, Bob is recognized as a pioneer in the professional sports industry, being the top recruiting firm in college sports, according to the Wall Street Journal. Sports Illustrated dubbed him "the most influential man in sports you've never heard of." He has held private speaking engagements for the likes of Nike, AIG, Madison Square Garden, NBC, and the L.A. Lakers. But Bob is more than just an executive recruiter. He is also an entrepreneur, an author, and a man of faith. He has published two amazing books that I love: "The Power of Who," which describes how to harness your friends and family to help you succeed in life, and "Two Chairs: The Secret That Changes Everything," which teaches readers how to have an out-loud conversation with God, who will give you the best advice you could ever want. In this week's episode of Chiseled, Bob describes how writing “Two Chairs” prepared him for the personal tragedy that laid ahead; he shares a conversation that business coach Tom Ziglar had sitting in one of those chairs; and he offers valuable lessons on finding the right job and relying on friends.
In this week's episode of The Professional Noticer, Andy hosts the guy described by Sports Illustrated as “The most influential guy in sports you've never heard of,” Bob Beaudine – CEO, Author, and Speaker. Tune in to hear Bob share passionately about the value and importance of building relationships with the people we meet, and taking care of those we already have with friends and family. Hear him describe a strategy for doing what you love, where opportunities are often hidden, and listen as he tells Andy what led him to write Two Chairs – a book that changed Andy's life. Eric Ng, Senior VP of Marketing at Two Chairs, has an agile mindset which has enabled him to keep adapting to the significant changes brought about by technology developments in the marketing discipline—including many new channels, formats, and granular measurement tools. Eric shares insights about screening for a flexible mindset when building teams, and how trust, empowerment, and co-creation are key for nurturing growth. Eric explains how his flexible attitude has allowed him to adapt to new hybrid/remote working arrangements. KEY TAKEAWAYS [02:58] Seeing the Apple 1984 commercial in grade school, Eric knew he wanted to do marketing. [03:30] At college, Eric co-founds Student.com with friends which goes well, he learns a lot when his second start-up fails completely. [05:01] Eric joins Apple's advertising agency Chiat/Day which was a dream job for him. [06:27] Marketing is about resource allocation or figuring out how to make (increasingly informed) bets. [07:24] Flexibility is essential in an ever-changing industry—mixing testing and iterating with renewed use of broad-based ideas to drive fame. [10:02] Eric reflects on his experience building teams, and how screening for mindset is paramount. [11:27] Eric's methodology to consolidate his team's learning is that they must teach others in turn. [13:02] Working for a mission-oriented organization makes motivation, branding and recruiting easier. [15:30] Two Chairs offers a diverse group of therapists to serve market requirements as people's needs and relationship with therapy evolve. [16:37] If connection with your therapist—the therapeutic alliance—is the best predictor of success, having a diverse therapist offering increases potential matches and outcomes. [19:02] The pandemic reduced mental health-related stigma along with willingness to be vulnerable. [20:12] Eric never worked remotely prior to the pandemic, but his perspective has shifted significantly. [21:05] Rethinking many aspects of work in hybrid situations, including how to recognize people's successes. [22:18] The dial tone, a remote version of the high-five! [24:24] Meetings are important, they just need to be well thought out. [26:09] Shifting your mindset to manage distributed teams starting with trust and empowerment. [27:20] Empathy is essential to understand who each person is, what they are doing, what their needs are. [29:00] Cultivating trust requires a safe space, time to adjust, and guardrails to avoid the worst. [30:24] People do best when they can discover on their own and co-create. [32:30] Eric sees potential of simplification in the future, especially in healthcare which can be overcomplicated and confusing. [35:00] Eric asks Sophie what excites her—understanding better how we each work, how we can come together effectively as a team, and what we learned by about what we are capable of under pressure. [36:55] Technological and societal changes are bringing additional layers of diversity we can address in different ways. [40:16] IMMEDIATE ACTION TIP: If adapting with an agile mindset becomes overwhelming, take one small step that you haven't taken before and explore the new experience. RESOURCES Eric Ng on LinkedIn Two Chairs website QUOTES (edited) “I think that's one of the things when you're growing where everything seems to be going well if you don't hit a roadblock, you don't grow.” “I'm hoping that the team members who are learning are also going to teach others. It gives them that opportunity to solidify the things that they're thinking about and really learn. There's nothing like teaching something in order to learn it!” “That connection with your therapist — this idea of a therapeutic alliance — is perhaps the best predictor of having successful outcomes for mental health. So if you match really well, you end up having a great outcome. I'm obviously interested in user experience as a marketer, but in this case, the actual outcomes for a patient or a client really, really matter.”
