Amy Grant graces the show today! We discuss her upcoming concert in Glenside, PA this Saturday 8/1 (8pm), "The Me That Remains" (her first new album in 13 years), and Amy's perspective on the road she has traveled. We weave in a handful of songs to help chronicle that journey, from "Old Man's Rubble" (Amy's first-ever single) and "Sing Your Praise To The Lord" (her first #1 Christian single) to "Love Will Find A Way" (Amy's first mainstream single) and "Baby, Baby" (her first #1 mainstream single), plus the title track from Amy's new album. Part of the road Amy shared is also related to the album cover of "The Me That Remains" and includes a challenging battle the past six years regarding a church her great-grandfather purchased in downtown Nashville in 1925. The church focused on doing the work of Matthew 25 but is currently boarded up and in danger of being put on the open market. Amy and her family's hope is that a court ruling (scheduled for tomorrow--Friday July 31) will make it possible for the property to be transferred to another non-profit instead, which would allow the church to once again be used for charitable work. Your prayers for this would be much appreciated! You can find out more about Amy's concerts, music and more at www.amygrant.com :)See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

One theme White often touches on is the speed at which life can go and its brevity--something he appears to still be grappling with. On that topic, Tim (DeMoss :)) adds thoughts from Psalm 90:10a: "The length of our days is seventy years--or eighty, if we have the strength" and Psalm 90:12: "Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Demond Wilson--best-known for his role as Lamont Sanford in the 70's sitcom "Sanford & Son"-- graciously joined the program in January 2019, just a few months into the Tim DeMoss Show's existence. With his homegoing at age 79 this past weekend, we re-aired that conversation in its entirety today. Wilson was funny, serious, godly, insightful--and kept TIm on his toes the entire time :). Wilson began by indirectly referencing the recently-missed double doink field goal attempt by former Eagle Cody Parkey (as the Birds hung on for a 16-15 playoff win v the Bears). Over the rest of the show, he shared about his acting career, comedy, Sanford & Son and his relationship with Redd Foxx, thoughts on the military (in which he served 1966-1968), his wife and their (at the time) 45-year marriage, being a father, and his faith in the Lord (as well as a project he was working on at the time). Psalm 90:10 comes to mind initially: "The length of our days is seventy years--or eighty, if we have the strength." Even moreso, John 14:1-4 provides much hope: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going."
