Here she is bois, here she is world, here's June! We are here with Oscar-nominee June Squibb. You Might Know Her From Thelma, Nebraska, About Schmidt, The Humans, Hubie Halloween, In & Out, Girls, Inside Out 2, and Broadway productions of Gypsy and Waitress. We were delighted to talk to 95-year-old June about her role in the action-dramedy Thelma for which she absolutely deserves an Oscar nomination. From fearlessly driving a scooter to charming the late Richard Roundtree, June opened up about her very first “lead role” and the difference in being number one on the callsheet. We also got the intel on her time as a replacement for Electra in the original (yes, original) Broadway production of Gypsy opposite Ethel Merman, returning to Broadway in a gender-reversed casting as Josie in Waitress, her rapport with director Alexander Payne (who she had to audition for AGAIN for role in Nebraska), and her upcoming lead role in Scarlett Johansson's directorial debut Eleanor the Great. This one will go down in the books for sure. Please go stream Thelma right after you listen! Welcome to Out of the Shadows, a series that dives into the world of (mostly) 80s horror movies. Join Chris Chavez and Jim Clark as they explore the best and worst of what made the 80s the golden age of horror. This week, Chris and Jim wrap up the Out of the Shadows 31 Days of Halloween as they check out Lisa Frankenstein, Trap, Mouse Trap, They, The Others, Happy Death Day, My Best Friend's Exorcism, Thanksgiving, and of course, Hubie Halloween.
Halloween movies are usually about ghosts and goblins, witches and warlocks. But what about a Halloween movie about people who are a little different? What about a Halloween movies that challenges us to get to know those "different" people who have a heart and care for all of those around them? This week, it's a Guest Makes Mike SCREAM, as Vin Craig returns to the podcast to make the Mikes watch one of his new Halloween favorites, Adam Sandler in HUBIE HALLOWEEN!
Sto diventando irrimediabilmente vecchio. Lo trovate su Netflix.
After 2 weeks of Terrifier, it's time to go a little bit lighter! Isaak Presley is the star of Disney's “Stuck in the Middle,” the Netflix spinoff “Fuller House,” Amazon Prime's “One Nation Under God,” for which he won several Best Actor Awards, and “Hubie Halloween” with Adam Sandler. Isaak Presley is already an industry veteran at the age of 22. He has been in the entertainment industry since the age of 5, at which time he landed his first television role in Nickelodeon's Yo Gabba Gabba. Forced into adulthood at an early age to help provide for his family and having grown up in an environment where men didn't share their feelings, Presley turned to drugs and alcohol to cope in his early teens. His substance use escalated during the pandemic, when he was isolated and with all the time in the world to drink and use as he pleased. Presley's use spiraled until early 2023 an arrest on a small charge made him finally understand that he needed to make a change. On this episode of Addiction Talk, Presley gets real about child stardom, trauma, addiction, and how he's turned his life around today.

At the end of Monstober, Andy and Patrick revisit Hubie Halloween, and have a blast with all the franks and beans.
Viewing habits have changed drastically over the years. We talk about how delays have become a bigger part of the film calendar than ever before and how it now seems to take more than tentpole franchises to draw audiences. Plus, Mike Flannagan has another Stephen King adaptation coming and you may be surprised to hear who is part of the cast.We have not done too many - if any - family friendly horror. This may be because there is so little to find on Shudder. This week's show covers both bases as we cover a scary movie that the kiddos can watch and enjoy from the supernatural streaming network. The fact that it takes place in a Spirit Halloween should seal the deal for all the young ones in your house.Spirit Halloween: The Movie is a straightforward story about a group of friends who decide to spend the night in the titular store. While there they must deal with a vengeful ghost. There are no twists or surprises and it is very much a “what you see is what you get” plot. It is perfect for a younger crowd, but it did not sit well with one of us.Two horror icons teaming up for a horror movie centered around Halloween sounds like a good idea. Especially with a premise as goofy as the one Hayride to Hell gives audiences. But when the story is about a white man refusing to give up his land due to tradition is the least of the problems the writing has, you know you are in for a tough watch.Hayride to Hell makes a strong case for most tone deaf movies we have ever covered. Even forgetting the protagonist who does not feel he has to pay back his bank loans, respect his neighbors' legitimate concerns, or hire police for the crowded traffic, it is also incredibly misogynistic. Even if it were a 1970s exploitation flick, you would think they went too far.We were both on the same page scripting-wise, but we were in entirely different books when it came to the performances. We all know Kane Hodder is a great villain, but how is he as a smarmy asshole? And is Bill Moseley' wacky performance able to save this awful film?Adventures in Movies! is a part of the Morbidly Beautiful Podcast Network. Screenwriter Van Robichaux (Fist Fight, Brooklyn 99) joins to discuss Steven Spielberg's 2001 science fiction film A.I. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE starring Haley Joel Osment, Jude Law, Frances O'Connor and William Hurt. Originally developed by Stanley Kubrick and handed to Spielberg, A.I. is a fascinating mix of two major filmmakers' disparate sensibilities, combining fairy tale fancy with dystopian sci-fi. Osment earned praise for his intense portrayal of David, a sophisticated robot boy programmed with the single-minded desire to love. Unfurling as a futuristic variation on Pinocchio, A.I. confounded some critics and audiences upon release, but has since gained pockets of appreciation as a brilliantly atmospheric and philosophical entry in Spielberg's illustrious filmography. As the emergence of AI technology makes today's headlines, join us as we revisit this strange and singular film along with diversions into the WGA/SAG-AFTRA dual strike, Chappie, Hubie Halloween, Star Trek, Jack and Jill, and much, much more! A.I. Artificial Intelligence is currently available to stream on The Criterion Channel and Pluto TV.

Last Broosktober we had a technical difficulty on end and lost the last 15ish minutes of Brook's audio for this episode but now we release it unto you! Enjoy the Netflix/Adam Sandler joint “Hubie Halloween”!
Welcome back! We kick off season 6 with major news about the pod (OMG) and 2001's Sugar & Spice, a movie about true sisterhood! The plot? When a high school cheerleader becomes pregnant, she and her cheer sisters get inspired by Point Break and plan a bank heist. Costume design is by one of our faves, Wendy Chuck (Confess, Fletch, Twilight, Hubie Halloween, Election) and features a seriously iconic bank robbery look, cute monochromatic outfits, and cheerleader uniforms, of course! We're now ready for cheer-core to become a trend. We also discuss the comparison with Bring it On (and a big revelation about the two movies by Gabriella Union), Penn Badgley not wanting to do sex scenes anymore, and Blaire breaks down her fave MSCHF as we discuss dem big red boots...ps did anyone watch Hollywood Darlings? For visuals of the costumes, follow us on Instagram at @fishnetflixpod and TikTok @fishnetflix ! DM or email your movie requests at info@fishnetflix.com! We love hearing from you! Don't forget to rate, subscribe, and leave a review on iTunes and wherever you listen to the show!
We all may be in the thick of our holiday merriment, but we've got some Halloween closure to tend to (as if it ever really closes). There is an extensive list of titles that we all watched before this episode which we think makes for a pretty killer group of recommendations! And then after all of that, we head back to a country and filmmaking family near and dear to our demonic hearts – Italy. Or Germany? But maybe American? For our final selection of this year's festivities, we decided we didn't want to take a trip back in time, but to FEEL like we did. Hubie Halloween is an Adam Sandler movie in the style of the early Happy Madison hits, but does it reach the same highs as the 90s? Listen and find out!
