Cadence shares about community knowledge of fragments (a two-dimensional alter) and polyfragmented systems (people with more than 100 alters). Note: I am not a therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist. Everything we say in this podcast is what works for us and the other people we know who claims what works for them. If you are in a crisis, call your local helpline for professional assistance. Please listen to this podcast at your own discretion and take good care of yourself. Quotes from Dissociative Galaxy's Common Terms channel by Black: Fragment is a less distinct part. Typically, they split for a "not so big" task or "not so long" situation. They usually hold one feeling or one task. Therefore, fragments will usually only have one purpose or will not be that defined of a part. They can also just be a memory, not a complete alter with an appearance or personal will. Commonly they also split for holding trauma memories, which no one in the system is capable of dealing with. If fragments form only to perform short-time tasks, it's common that they end up fusing after their "job" is finished. Polyfragmentation: Polyfragmented DID, or also known as Complex DID, is another form of how a system can present. C-DID is not an official diagnosis but is more of system label modifier or specification. Common misinformation is that C-DID just means 100+ parts, which is not true. Most common parts of C-DID are: — A large number of parts, alters, fragments. — Layers / epochs: A system may tend to group people together by what stage of life they split in, and/or new sets of alters split to handle major changes in life situation ; each grouping system depends on each and every system. — Presence of subsystems: Either or both of group and "system-in-system" subsystems. — Weak non-dissociative defenses: Dissociation and/or escapism are a primary coping mechanism. — Very active and/or complex headspaces. — Complex splitting patterns: Multiple alters splitting from the same incident, or multiple over a short period of time. — Pain-phobic orientation: "They can't handle that memory / remembering any trauma, I'm keeping them safe from it". — Copy alters: Alters that are very similar to the people they split off. — A fairly small group of primary fronters, with other fronters coming around as needed. — More frequent coconsciousness or passive influence. You don't have to have all of these to be considered polyfragmented/complex, but if you experience a lot of them it's worth looking into. It's important to add that you can experience those without being polyfragmented. Image Credit: Dissociative Identity Disorder in TheMighty.com

She feels that publishing a book, is a wonderful way to celebrate this milestone.https://www.facebook.com/jugglingthej... (less)DALLAS, TX – Michael Molthan doesn't shy away from talking about his painful past of drug and alcohol addiction. On his talk show called, M2-The Rock, he shares how he went from building homes to being homeless."When I had the homebuilding company my behaviors were getting worse and worse," Molthan told CBN News. "My consequences were getting worse and worse."Molthan was arrested on a drug charge in 2009. "I had a large amount of cocaine in my truck," he explained. "I was intoxicated, and I was arrested. And I'll never forget that when they took me down to the jail, I had my very first mug shot."Hitting Rock Bottom26 mug shots later, Molthan hit rock bottom. "When I look back, that's how the word powerless – I'm powerless over this deadly disease," he said. Feeling agitated, anxious, and facing three years behind bars, Molthan underwent a spiritual encounter after an inmate asked him to read to him. "I grab this book from a gang-banger, a black panther, and he used it as a pillow," he explained. "Brand new book and it was the Living Recovery Bible, New Living Translation. Now, these are black words on white paper at the time. They're not meaning anything to me. Next thing I know, four days have passed by and I started thinking about this and I go, four days just went by and I wasn't anxious. I wasn't in fear. I was calm, and I was at peace."Life-Changing MomentLater that night, he experienced another life-changing moment. "I couldn't breathe," he recounted. "All of a sudden I felt all this trash and hatred and anger and resentment and everything just coming out of my body like flies. All this stuff was just coming out. And I just took this breath and I just go something magical happened and I was full of love, and looking around I loved everybody." "I started preaching and I didn't realize what I was doing," he said. "And I did it at the end of every dinner."Paperwork Error Leads to Early ReleaseIn 2017, a paperwork error led to Molthan's accidental release. So, with no money or food, he walked 300 miles to ask judge Jennifer Bennett to send him back to jail. "I walk in there to turn myself in and I'm excited," says Molthan. "I'm like, 'I'm going to go back to prison. I'm going to do my time, get this over with and get this behind me.' I mean, complete acceptance. God is running the show, right?"He continued, "I walk in there and Judge Bennett says, 'Mr. Molthan there's obviously someone a lot bigger working in your life than me and I'm not going to get in the way.' And she set me free. And she said, 'I want you to come back tomorrow with the self-correct program. I want you to go pay it forward."'And Molthan is doing just that by sharing his story of freedom and sobriety with those seeking help for addiction.Helping Others Trapped by Addiction

Mike Porath, founder and CEO of TheMighty.com talks about powerful ways people find one another on the platform. He then answers the question, “What would you like people to know about TheMighty.com?” He encourages people on the platform to share their ideas and feedback Mike@TheMighty.com and Community@TheMighty.com What is bringing him wellness or lighting up his spirit? Mike shares how he is practicing a bit of self care these days.
Mike Porath, founder and CEO of TheMighty.com talks about his hopes for the future. He discusses a study Harvard did with TheMighty to look at whether content was making a difference people using the site as it related to suicide and suicidal ideation. How does TheMighty impact its community? What is the evidence? How do we make the platform more globally accessible? The primary thing TheMighty is solving for is isolation, the emotional impact these health conditions have and our tendency to feel lost, scared, and alone. Mike also share’s a concrete story of how a crowdsourced solution early in Annabel’s life stuck with him and influenced the founding of TheMighty.
Mike Porath, founder and CEO of TheMighty.com talks about what he’s learned from parenting a child that was born differently than he expected. What are their guideposts for parenting? What would he say to other parents who are on a similar journey? Finding a present-day focus brought relief. He also talks a bit where the name "TheMighty" came from and about the roll of guilt and grief.
Mike Porath, founder and CEO of TheMighty.com talks about how The Mighty got started. The Mighty isn't about health so much as it's about PEOPLE. What has surprised you about the ways The Mighty has grown and changed? How have you grown from parenting Annabel? What would you tell another parent who had a child born different than they expected her to be?
Mike Porath, founder and CEO of TheMighty.com talks about what it was like to have a daughter born with a chromosomal difference. How did The Mighty get their start? How has the platform changed from its initial spark? In the early days of his daughter Annabel's diagnosis, he found an old PDF on the web with 6 stories from parents who had the same condition as Annabel. He really connected with those stories. Their power moved him, the humor and joy, pierced the loneliness. "There's other people out there dealing with this. We can too." That became the crux of the idea for The Mighty. How do you build a health community? Can stories lead to conversations lead to community?

Mental illness affects about 1 in 4 adults in America...Yet it is still an issue few discuss openly. It's certainly not common dinner table conversation material. Maybe it's because most mental illnesses seem invisible, only manifesting in our behaviors and thoughts. One author aims to reduce the stigma around mental illness In "The End", we enter the mind of a character suffering from the ups and downs of bipolar disorder. Nichole Hallberg has been secretly writing about her battle with mental illness for most of her life. And since she went public about it, she has used her writing as a tool to decrease the stigma around the common problem in America. One story at a time, it is working. Nichole Hallberg has published her work on TheMighty.com and on an international Bipolar website. She lives in Southern California with her fiancee and dog.
