They also reflect on the lasting respect LeBron has shown the Heat since leaving Miami and how the lessons he learned during his time with the franchise have shaped the rest of his career.

Choosing between freelancing and a full-time role can feel like a high-stakes fork in the road. We take the pressure off with a five–mile marker roadmap that helps you define what matters most right now and match the path to your life, not your LinkedIn headline. Instead of arguing labels, we ask better questions: Do you need stability or flexibility? Variety or consistency? Specialist depth or broad systems thinking? How much risk can you hold in this season—financially, emotionally, and logistically? Before you hit play, grab a notebook. We'll guide you to write your top three non-negotiables and circle the one that becomes your compass for offers, scopes, and role fit. If this resonated, share it with a designer who's weighing freelance vs. full-time, subscribe for more practical career design, and leave a review to help others find the show.

There's something that almost every single business owner struggles with at some point (even me!) – and that's talking about your own offer.Because in your head, the offer makes total sense. You know the depth of the work. You know the results people can get.You know how much thought, experience and care has gone into creating it.But translating all of that into a sales page or an email that actually moves your ideal client to take action and buy from you – well that's where things can start to feel surprisingly hard. You know you need to talk about your offer if you want to make money – but how can you do that when every time you try to explain it, it feels like you're speaking parseltongue?Well today's guest on the How I Do Content Podcast is a Dumbledore-level expert on this topic. Breeding decisions, feed calculations, replacement standards, and herd focus all shape profitability but rarely in dramatic ways. Most goat herds don't fall apart overnight. They slowly lose momentum because of small management decisions that compound over time. In this episode, I walk through five mistakes that can quietly erode profitability in a goat herd. From breeding does too early to failing to track does exposed to breeding, feeding without running the math, and keeping goats out of sentiment, we break down the practical decisions that either strengthen or weaken your system. You'll hear how delayed breeding improved longevity in our forage-based herd, why exposed-doe metrics give a more honest fertility picture, how simple feed calculations can prevent waste and overconditioning, and how tightening replacement standards shapes long-term herd direction. I also share the hard decision we made to focus fully on commercial meat goats when our goals became clearer. The goal isn't perfection, it's intentional management. If you've been working hard but feel like your herd isn't progressing the way it should, this episode will help you step back, evaluate your system, and tighten the areas that matter most. In This Episode, I Cover: Why breeding does at the wrong stage of development increases replacement pressure How delayed breeding improved longevity and reduced kidding problems in our herd Why tracking “does exposed to breeding” gives a more accurate fertility picture The importance of measuring singles, twins, triplets, and assistance rates How to calculate feed intake using body weight and dry matter percentages Why protein is the most expensive nutrient you feed How overconditioning affects breed-up The long-term cost of keeping goats for emotional reasons Why tightening replacement standards improves herd direction How unclear production goals create inconsistent selection decisions Key Takeaways: Longevity is profit Fertility must be measured honestly to improve Feed efficiency requires both math and observation Replacement standards should tighten over time Sentiment has a cost — acknowledge it Clear production goals drive consistent herd improvement Small management decisions compound over years Related Episodes: 22 | What Is the Perfect Meat Goat? Breeding season is underway on the ranch, and this year our breeding decisions look a little different than they have in the past. In this episode, I'm sharing what's happening right now at Dry Creek and walking you through how we're thinking about herd genetics, maternal traits, and long-term direction—not from a textbook perspective, but from real-world experience. I talk through why we sold our longtime Boer buck, how that decision reshaped this year's breeding plan, and why we're intentionally slowing down instead of rushing to replace him. We dig into how past experience with show goats changed the way I think about first kiddings, mothering ability, and how breeding decisions can either set does up for success—or make their job harder from the start. You'll hear how and why we're using Spanish bucks across the Boer herd this year, what we're watching for in the resulting kids, and how data collection—not trends or pressure—is guiding our next steps. I also share some of the longer-term options we're considering, including terminal crossing, maintaining two distinct herds, and what market demand may influence moving forward. This episode isn't about having the perfect breeding plan. It's about making thoughtful decisions that keep options open, protect herd function, and align with the season of ranching and life you're actually in. If you're raising goats, planning future breeding decisions, or trying to balance improvement with practicality, this episode will help you think more clearly and move forward with confidence—even if you don't have every answer yet. In This Episode, I Cover: A quick ranch update and what winter conditions mean for daily management Why we sold our Boer buck and how genetic concentration affects breeding decisions How past show goat experience reshaped our approach to first kidding does Using Spanish bucks to improve mothering and functional traits The pros and tradeoffs of slowing genetic progress for long-term herd success What a terminal cross is and why we're considering it How market demand, data, and personal goals influence herd direction Key Takeaways: Breeding decisions should support function, not just appearance or speed A doe's first kidding experience is important for long-term doe success Slowing down can preserve options and prevent genetic dead ends Data collection beats trend-chasing every time It's okay to move forward without having every future decision locked in Related Episodes: 22 | What Is the Perfect Meat Goat?
