The notion of “whole health,” however, expands health goals across other aspects of wellbeing such as sleep, stress, and mental optimization to achieve a more complete picture of health. Dr. Tiffany Stewart discusses the importance of offering patients practical solutions for solving their health challenges and how her lab is leveraging digital health tools to accomplish this. She offers insight into how we can all achieve our health goals through meaningful incremental change. Episode hosted by Patrick Reed.

While the World Wide Web has evolved tremendously over the past couple of decades, it can still feel like we are fighting an uphill battle when it comes to accessibility, even though this push for accessibility has existed since the first set of guidelines created by the W3C in 1999. Making the Web more accessible is a benefit to everyone, and Tiffany Stewart is working hard to make sure that happens. Our conversation began with a discussion on her work at Thomson Reuters, and she shared how she got into design systems and accessibility. Tiffany also talked about moving to the U.S. from Jamaica as a teenager, attending college in Mississippi, and spoke on what prompted her to shift her focus from engineering to UX. Thank goodness we have future-thinking designers like Tiffany Stewart to ensure that we have a Web that we can all use!LinksTiffany Stewart on InstagramTiffany Stewart on LinkedInFor extended show notes, including a full transcript of this interview, visit revisionpath.com.==========Apply to Join The Tenth CollectiveAre you a Black designer looking for work? The Howard Alumni Movemakers Podcast hosted by Joshua Mercer
Becoming a writer truly opened my eyes to the power of story. Before becoming a writer, I had a story but I wasn't the one writing it. The literal and figurative action of picking up the pen is when things changed for me. I'm an educator turned entrepreneur. I had a successful career in education working with NYC public schools and decided I wanted to work for myself. I have founded a number of companies and am currently the CEO of BirthWrite Consulting, a company specializing in all things writing and founder of The Educator's Promise, a nonprofit organization focused on education equity. A woman of many ideas, my first passion is in writing. My book, "Jewels From a Black Diamond" is a collection of life lessons, words of wisdom and things learned along the journey to self discovery. It reflects on struggles with confidence, toxic relationships, faith, and the power of self love. My hope is that the reader finds the courage to always see and choose themselves, no matter who else doesn't. My 2nd book, “No Saving Me for Later” is about putting your focus back on you and making the steps to be your best self. No waiting, no complaining, no blaming. I speak to my journey as a Black woman and the obstacles I had to overcome even with degrees from both Howard & Harvard University. Many of the obstacles being what I was taught to believe about myself through past trauma and self-doubt. I lost it all and gained more back. The book is meant to inspire, heal and motivate people to live life with purpose. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/humovemakers/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/humovemakers/support

We talk a lot about the importance of getting in shape especially at the beginning of a new year or before hitting the beach but do you know what it really means to be in shape And how, exactly, do we get healthy It s a question local businesses and entrepreneurs are helping their clients better understand using new technologies, and new approaches to fitness. Tiffany Stewart is a clinical psychologist and the director of the Behavioral Technology Lab at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Tifffany s work focuses on breaking the illusion that looking healthy which is to say skinny or sexy is not the same thing as being healthy. In her work Tiffany uses technology apps and games that she has helped develop that aim to improve health and performance. Hayden Clark is owner of Irontribe Fitness, a local boutique health club that focuses on getting its clients healthy through 45 minute high intensity, group workouts, paired with one on one style coaching. Irontribe is a Birmingham based company with some 50 franchise owned studios around the country. Having It ALL: Conversations about living an Abundant Loving Life
In today’s episode I’m talking with Dr. Tiffany Stewart on living life on your own terms and using visualization and goal setting to create the life you want to live. *** Remember in grade school when we wanted to be excused from class to go to the bathroom, what did we need to make that happen? A permission slip! Well, somewhere between then and adulthood many of us neglected to drop that belief when it came to living our most joyful and authentic lives! We believe that permission is needed to create a life that we are passionate to live. My guest today has built her career off of rescripting that belief and helping people create the life that they want. Dr. Tiffany Stewart. Tiffany is a mother, coach, professor, counselor, businesswoman and speaker. Her passion is to help individuals who may be stuck in some area of life, tap into their power and give themselves permission to step into their purpose and create the life they want to live. Playing Small Moment Dr. Stewart’s playing small moment was a large portion of her past, when she was following along with everything she thought she was supposed to do. She didn’t consider that she could think outside of the box and explore her other abilities. The Wake Up Call Dr. Stewart was working with a mentor early in her career, when she was looking for guidance. She questioned her own worth, because her ideas were being rebuffed. But when she noticed her ideas were being regurgitated back to her, she experienced her wake up call. This is when she started to trust in herself and her intuition. Style of Leadership Dr. Stewart trusts her support group to take care of their responsibilities, but requires them to go hard like she does. She believes in work/life balance for herself and her team. What Are You Excited About? Dr. Stewart is super excited about her life right now, as she is creating her life’s work. Current Business Challenge Dr. Stewart is challenged as she tries to streamline her work. Her past beliefs of hard work all the time go against her work/life balance philosophy. Your Support System Dr. Stewart’s business coach and mentor supports her during her transitions, and helps her feel comfortable as she achieves new levels in her life. For Life on Purpose Episode #61, my guest is speaker, professional coach and mentor, trained licensed therapist and tenured associate professor of counseling Dr. Tiffany Stewart. Dr. Tiffany joined me for an inspirational chat about her L.E.A.P. Success System and how it helps others shift their mindset and create the lives they want. We also discussed her own life story — how she went from being a single parent who had been fired from four jobs in two years with very little money ("failing at life") to building a successful business and life lived on her own terms in just a few short years. “Failure is a part of the process. You can ALWAYS recover from it. And the transformation that I have been through in a few short years is not because I am a lucky person. You do not need lady luck on your side to create the life you want. I went from literally losing everything I had to creating the life I want.” About: Dr. Tiffany is national speaker, professional coach and mentor, trained licensed therapist and tenured associate professor of counseling.
