Many Christians spend years accumulating knowledge while remaining spiritually stuck. Why? Because information alone doesn't transform lives. In this powerful episode, Pastor Ken Senchal examines Paul's prayer in Ephesians and reveals how spiritual wisdom and insight help believers move beyond knowledge into true transformation. You'll discover: • The difference between knowing about God and walking with God • The five stages of spiritual growth • Why spiritual maturity requires intentionality • How to overcome offense, pride, selfishness, and inconsistency • Why God's plan has always been multiplication, not accumulation If you've ever wondered where you are in your spiritual journey—or how to move forward—this message provides a practical roadmap for becoming the disciple Jesus has called you to be. Remember: "The measure of spiritual maturity isn't just what you know—it's who you're investing in." Subscribe, share, and join us as we pursue life-changing faith together.

Gomer's dad is out of the hospital and in a care home and this episode starts there, in the territory of walking a parent toward the end of his life. Luke and Gomer work through the lessons Gomer has picked up in the trenches: what hospitals won't tell you, how to have the DNR conversation, and why AI has become an unlikely companion through all of it. In This Episode: Why hospitals won't spell out what's actually happening with your loved one and how Gomer used AI to decode his dad's medical charts and communicate clearly with family Lesson one from the hospital: no one will tell you what's going on unless you make them, and the only people who will are in palliative care The do-over myth and why middle age is when you realize the world stopped giving them to you—you don't go back, you live with the scar tissue The DNR conversation: what it actually means, why outside-of-hospital DNR requires a signed document on the door, and why you should have it sooner than you think When specialists miss the whole person: how productivity-driven, siloed medicine can leave no one reading the full picture Chapters: 00:00: Welcome Back 00:46: Gomer's Dad and the Care Home 02:08: Lesson One—Hospitals Won't Tell You Anything 07:25: Luke's Dad and Losing People Too Soon 20:00: The Gradual Decline You Can't See Coming 24:00: Reality, Do-Overs, and the Things That Can't Be Undone 29:38: When Specialists Miss the Whole Person 37:54: The DNR Conversation 41:47: Big Fish and What We Learn from Our Parents' Stories 48:21: What Parents Say When They Think It's Time 53:23: AI, Claude, and the Bot That Said It Was Praying for You Resources Mentioned: Rebuilding Mum and Dad (YouTube) Catching Foxes on Substack Produced by Saint Kolbe Studios
Send us Fan MailIn this episode, Curtis Tucker takes a hard look at what it really means to “not let the old man in.” Inspired by the famous Clint Eastwood line that became a Toby Keith song, Curtis talks about delaying old age by staying active, curious, creative, connected, and willing to keep trying new things. From walking, working out, going to concerts, learning new technology, grooming better, standing taller, and staying engaged with an audience, this episode is a reminder that getting older is automatic — but becoming old is something we can push back against every single day. #lifeover60Support the show

What happens when a woman who's spent her entire life optimizing, producing, planning, and performing… decides to stop? In this unfiltered solo episode, Nicole Kalil shares the real reason behind her 3-month sabbatical across Europe — and it's about a whole lot more than travel. Nicole opens up about the fear of untethering from productivity, the discomfort of rest, aging as a woman, solo dining anxiety, motherhood, identity, and what it means to leave behind the familiar long enough to uncover who you're becoming next. Because maybe the things that scare and excite us at the exact same time are the very things pointing us toward the life we actually want. In This Episode, Nicole Talks About: Why she's taking an 11-week sabbatical through Europe Turning 50 and why aging feels liberating instead of limiting The pressure women face to stay small, young, and polished Why slowing down can feel terrifying The power of doing something “impractical” anyway Rediscovering yourself by leaving the familiar behind What envy and jealousy might actually be trying to tell you Thank you to our sponsors! Barbara Scully sits down with Laura for a wide-ranging conversation that starts with her own recent run-in with the medical system and opens out into what it actually means to age as a woman in Ireland today.Barbara talks about months of hip pain, a string of MRIs, a suspected stroke that turned out to be nothing, and the moment she decided to step off the treadmill of tests, hand back the prescription and rebuild her strength in the gym. She also shares her type 2 diabetes diagnosis in her mid-50s and the two years of remission she achieved through diet and exercise before her mother died and life became harder again. The conversation moves into menopause, brain fog, mood swings and the language used about older women. Barbara reframes brain fog as an information retrieval slowdown, makes the case that women's anger after menopause is real and warranted, and argues that being underestimated as you get older is closer to a superpower than to invisibility. There is also room for the story behind it all. Growing up tall in a male-dominated house. Becoming an unmarried mother in 1987 and listening to politicians and clergy describe women like her as a scourge on the radio. The close, unconventional friendship she had with her mother, who set up her own business teaching women word processing in the late 1980s. And the comedy career she fell into in her 60s, now touring with her one-woman show Older Bolder Wiser. Her best-selling book ‘Wise Up' is available now in Irish bookstores nationwide & on Amazon.ie
Another jam-packed episode this week, folks, as Jeff Mans begins by discussing his emotions as he watched his oldest daughter graduate from law school this week. Mans pontificates that while getting older comes with plenty of advantages, he longs to go back and take that ride again. Of course, there is a ton of football talk here as well as Jeff wraps up his first dynasty league rookie draft and reveals the six players he took this season. Then it is time to take a spin around the super early average draft position (ADP) in fantasy football right now. Mans reveals the top 12 players who are going in the first round and where he has each one ranked right now. He also gives out his top 12, which features three players not in the top 15 in the current marketplace. This leads to a deeper conversation about players that Jeff Mans is higher on right now than the current market. If you or someone you know is drafting early, this is an episode that you cannot miss. In an episode recorded live in Bristol, Simon and Rachel speak with the children's author Michael Morpurgo. A former primary-school teacher, Michael has written over 150 books, including "Private Peaceful", "Kensuke's Kingdom" and "The Butterfly Lion". "War Horse", first published in 1982, later became a hugely successful production from the National Theatre and then, in 2011, a film directed by Steven Spielberg. Michael was appointed Children's Laureate in 2003, a post he previously helped to set up with Ted Hughes in 1999. With his wife Clare, he also set up the charity Farms for City Children in 1976, which offers children and teachers from inner-city primary schools the chance to live and work in the countryside for a week on one of the charity's three farms in Devon, Gloucestershire and Wales. We spoke to Michael about moving from teaching children to writing for them, the origin of the "War Horse" phenomenon, and his new book, "Funny Thing, Getting Older". The 2026 NFL Draft has experienced a growing trend of older players. One NFL General Manager finds that to be a bad thing. Is it good for BYU players?
“Send Coach John a message”Stumbled across a fabulous song from Eddie Dalton Music (I suggest you look him up… really good stuff!!) This was shared from a good friend - Coach Bob Johnston called it “my new anthem”. It starts about not being able to move like I used to and that it really does take me a few more moments to get going and do things. Listen to the lyrics a few times through… so much good stuff! Just passing through time, like wind through the pines… wow!!!... that one hit me hard for some reason. I've listened to it six or seven times this morning.. Still tearing up about it. Have you at any point looked at someone you love deeply and suddenly realized that they look older than you remember? Exactly our point! In this episode, we reflected on the concept of aging, what it feels like, when we first noticed it happening to us, and why so many of us are afraid of getting older. We got into the physical side of it, especially looking at our parents as reference points, but also shared on the weight of time passing and the feeling of not achieving one's goals in life. Not to spill too much tea — all we can say is listen to the episode and share with a friend or family member. It will be worth your time. ;)
In Hour 2, Spadoni and Lubman discuss the path the Warriors should go down with their roster, and if adding older players is still a reasonable path. They also touch on LeBron James, and if the legend would come to the Dubs.
From cheese for dinner to flatulence, author Rosalie Ham finds the humour and joy in ageing.
Ever notice how getting older sneaks up on you? Let's talk about it.
Canceling plans at the last minute might be the ultimate form of self-care… but does that make us terrible people or just honest ones? We get into why backing out feels so good, why doing absolutely nothing on vacation is weirdly hard for most of us, and the real emotions people have about getting older. Plus, the basic cooking skills people still can’t master… and honestly, some of these are concerning.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
As I enter into the last year of my 20s, I want to talk about the fear and pressure that can come with aging. In this episode, I talk about society's obsession with youth (especially for women), romanticizing past versions of ourselves, and how confidence, self-worth, and what actually matters evolves with age. If you've ever felt like your value has an expiration date, I hope this conversation leaves you feeling more at peace, more confident, and maybe even excited to grow older.
Believe it or not, Slacker and Erica BOTH have birthdays this weekend! How do you feel about getting older?
Crain's residential real estate reporter Dennis Rodkin talks with host Amy Guth about news from the local housing market, including the rising age of the average homeowner in Chicago. Plus: Justin Ishbia set to buy massive South Loop rail yard for potential White Sox stadium, a roundup of the state's high-stakes primary night, BP's union worker lockout plan and a New York investor pays $77 million for River North apartments. In this episode, Guy talked with Dr. Mario Martinez, explaining it inspired him to test biological vs chronological age and offering a partner discount for DNA-related tests. Dr. Martinez discussed longevity myths, arguing centenarians—not gerontologists—are the key evidence, and that genetics account for about 20%. He described "inflammaging," noting centenarians show compensatory immune responses and research suggesting some inflammatory processes become anti-inflammatory; in a study of 50 centenarians, average biological age tested about 25 years younger. He critiques biohacking and excessive supplements, emphasizing lifestyle, perception, and emotions. Martinez outlined eight factors—four perceptions (time, aging, health, self-valuation) and four emotions (generosity, gratitude, admiration, curiosity)—and introduced the Centenarian Consciousness Index (CCI) plus GlycanAge finger-prick testing to track biological age over time. They covered curiosity as an antidote to default-mode self-sabotage, cultural "portals" that enforce aging, moderation, connection, self-care, and language cues like saying "thank you" instead of "no problem." About Dr. Mario: Dr Mario Martinez is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in how cultural beliefs affect the interaction of productivity, health and longevity. He is the founder of Biocognitive Science and the Empowerment Code. He developed an organizational model that views productivity and wellness as inseparable components of sustainable profits. The Empowerment Code is the first organizational training program that brings combined principles of cultural psychoneuroimmunology, cultural neuroscience and cultural anthropology to the workplace. Based on parameters that allow the immune system to make several hundred thousand decisions per minute, the Empowerment Code offers an organizational language that maximizes creativity, initiative and productivity, while diminishing conditions that contribute to chronic illnesses. Martinez holds a Masters degree in clinical psychology from Vanderbilt University and a Doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Madrid. He also has post-doctoral training in psychopharmacology from Farleigh Dickinson University. Because of his work in how cultural beliefs affect the immune system, Martinez has investigated alleged cases of stigmata for the Catholic Church, the BBC, National Geographic and Discovery Channel. He lectures worldwide on his theory of Biocognition and teaches Empowerment Code principles to top US corporate executives and to global organizations in Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia Pacific. This week we're getting a little more structured- with her 35th birthday around the corner, Alessandra gets real about the stuff she thought she'd have figured out by now: finances and money anxiety, routines and time management, friendship breakups in your 30s and more! Before diving into Spill the Tea, she introduces a new weekly segment Things I'm Currently Vibin' With where she'll share what she's been loving this week. Then she tackles two wildly relatable write-ins: one from a burnt-out work-from-home “couch goblin” who can't find the energy for life after 5PM, and another from someone who feels trapped in a “broke but aesthetic” lifestyle fueled by credit cards and pressure to look like they're thriving. Expect tough love, empathy, and practical “start small” steps because if nobody has it all figured out, we might as well figure it out together. To write in your Spill The Tea submissions email Alessandra at vibinandkindathrivin@gmail.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Gary and Shannon dig into America’s fixation on testosterone after a piece from The Atlantic and a documentary tied to Tucker Carlson spark a debate over masculinity, motive, and who gets to define what’s “wrong” with the country. The conversation drifts into RFK Jr., common sense vs credibility, and ends with a very real realization—aging means night driving is suddenly a problem.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Margaret Atwood is one of the most famous and prolific authors of the modern era. Though best known for her 1985 hit “The Handmaid's Tale,” her dozens of works span literary genres — poetry, novels, children's books, essays, short stories — and often defy neat categorization. Now, at 86, Atwood has written her first memoir. At roughly 600 pages, it's an intimate look at the ways her personal life inspired and shaped her writing. Kara and Atwood talk about her lifelong passion for the outdoors, how she decided to become a poet when she was just a teenager, and her reputation for having an eerie prescience about major world events. They also talk about Atwood's fears about the Trump administration's use of power, and why she still considers herself to be a hopeful person despite her predilection for dark stories. Questions?
