Like many ports, at the Port of Brisbane more than 50 per cent of its scope 3 emissions are comprised of shipping emissions from the movement of over 2,800 commercial vessels annually through its nearly 90km shipping channel. The Port of Brisbane and DHI Seaport (Seaport OPX) recently won the Environmental Award at the Daily Cargo News 2024 Australia Shipping & Maritime Industry Awards for this innovation.
